I read in the patch notes that performance was improved by up to 100% on some systems. That sounds pretty optimistic though. Here is my old time system: Pent 4 3.0 w/ ht 2 gig ram nvidia 6800 128mb (ouch) I managed in the past to get the game to run fairly decent, but was always plagued by wierd texture issues like trees going all blurry and whatnot, for no apparent reason. Also, whenever I went up in a chopper, at some point the game would crash. Every time. Can I expect enough improvement with the patch to buy the game once more and try yet again?

love the game, but performance has been bad

Thanks for all the help. I decided to play OFP instead. -
Here is my old rig P4 3.0 w/ht 2 gig ram nvidia 6800 vanilla 128mb I am using GRAA 3.0 I am trying to determine what kind of view distance setting I can expect with my setup. It's an old game but some settings are still too high for me to use (like terrain detail at the highest = no fricken way! I have been farting around with like 1500. I also have the shadows turned off as my card hates them. Any help is welcome!

I guess I meant the slider in the games regular "Options" menu.
-
Is the "visual quality" slider automatically set based on the values you have entered in the preferences, or is there a manual purpose for it?
-
I used to play alot but have forgotten what you do to eliminate the double cursor problem at the start of the game. Please help

Arma and my old pc don't agree. What is the turn in/out option for?

I'm in the first tank mission in OFP and I believe I am the commander. Maybe I am trying to do too much? What is the purpose of the command that pops your head out of the tank? (I can't remember the name. Is it lay in/out?)

If I want to change any options, I assume I just open up the config.cpp file, change what I like, save it, and that's it? I really love this mod and its trouble-free-ness (new word) Edit: - nevermind - I found my old notes.

I messed with FFUR and it's more than I want and I decided really all I want are the retextured soldiers, and maybe the buildings. Is there a mod for me?
-
I had a similar problem in the mission "Rescue". The Resistance was never able to blow up the tank to allow the mission to continue. I must have restarted trying different things 50 times. I reloaded the mod. I tried everything. The only way I could do it was to play the mission stock/w/out FFUR activated. I appreciate all the hard work in FFUR, but I have had alot of trouble. I think it's more than I really wanted anyway, so in frustration I gave GRAA a go. No problems, and I like the original weapon and vehicle models.

I wanted to say thanks for your work on a great and simple to use mod! I had alot of trouble with some others. GRAA is just what I was looking for!

http://operationflashpoint.filefront.com/file/FFUR_2007;74251 That's the version I'm using, with the 2 patches. I've since completed the mission. This version has no SLX, correct? I love this game!

This mission seems to come out wierd. The first time, I boarded the truck at the end, but we never left. When I got off the truck, I was told to get back on it? So I just sat there for awhile till I said the hell with it. The other time the truck never came and myself and one other survivor followed the leader for like a mile on our bellies way, way past where the mission took place. We were following him the wrong way, AWAY from the mission area. Again, I finally said screw it. What gives? I have FFUR 2007 installed. Could it be an issue with that, or is this normal and I just failed the mission or something?

Please?

Thanks Chef - I hadn't considered the leader looking around. Makes sense now!

Seems like it's in front of me, then wtf, now it's behind me, then, how the hell did it get way over there?! Sometimes I spend too much time trying to figure out where I'm supposed to be instead of looking for enemies. Die square, die I say!!
-
I didn't mean it as a FFUR problem, I meant it as a problem with the regular game. Maybe that's the way the game is supposed to be, that's what I am wondering.

Whoops, I guess my work username is different than my home name - sorry

I ended up ordering the game off ebay. I tried ArmA and it ran pretty crappy on my pc. Even though I could get decent framerates, it seemed like there was always some other stability issue, and it got to be too much of a hassle. I really want to try OFP, but am concerned maybe my pc just hates the game engine.Do you think I'll be okay? I realize it's an older game, and am hoping for the best! Thanks!
