    PROJECT'85 TOPIC

I'm afraid I've only got three things to say about this. Excellent, excellent and errrr... excellent!

    JOHNS KINGTIGER (ALPHA)

JOHN, how about an M-36 instead? with an M-36 the hull could be used for other AFV like the Sherman, Priest, M-10 and Achilles??? Just a thought. ... And the M-36 looks sexier!

    JOHNS KINGTIGER (ALPHA)

Very, very nice JOHN - a masterpiece in fact!!! Isn't the "missing texture" supposed to actually be wear and tear/battle damage? Good luck with the M18 Â Â Ah, I see what you mean now belgerot. I thought you meant the mudgaurd, not the track texture.

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

Very nice armour and half-track T_Roc, especially the Sherman, she's a beauty!!! Rip31st, I have a special request. When it comes to doing the configs for the armour, can you try to limit the "danger" speed for the ai? In combat situations armour should creep around the battlefield slowly - not storm around hyperactively as the ai tend to do in ofp and ArmA. Looking good all round everybody! PS, there seems to be something weird about the wheels on the Dodge, does the texture need centralizing?

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

That's very nice T_Roc. By the way, I was and still am a fan of your ofp armour packs. Is there any chance of you converting them for use in ArmA?

    ai refuses to get in

I've had this bug for ages, I dont know if it was introduced by an addon or by a patch. Seems to happen most in user made missions. Also I have team members welded to the ground sometimes refusing to move, to go anywhere or do anything. Patched to 1.14, of course.

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

Rip31st, I might be wrong, but I think you might have misunderstood the BIS stance on ofp to ArmA conversion, I dont see how they could have a legal argument to object to 3rd party addons being converted from one game to another providing the permission has been granted from the original author.

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

Have you considered importing some armour from ofp as a short cut to reaching your goals? for example T_Roc has posted some nice tanks for ofp for example on this page: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....st=1770 I especially like his E8 Sherman. It's a shame really that there are some great addons for ofp that are not being used as much as they should because the engine is virtually obsolete. I did a bit of re-texturing work on "PRIME's" Sherman pack ( http://ofp.gamepark.cz/news/pics2/IGNShermans1.jpg ) to make a British Firefly - I could dig them out and send them to you if you want. I'm pretty sure the original author of the Sherman pack gave his permission for them to be used without his future consent for whatever purposes.

    vehicles

The large number of vehicles will be made a moot point for me if I start the game up and I see a tank doing a seven point turn to evade danger. Please, please, please, lets have tanks cautiously moving around the battlefield - and especially, reversing away from danger - not doing a seven point turn. Here's hoping...

Hi Fab, do you think you guys will have the enthusiasm to mod ArmA2? It looks like it might be a great platform for ww2 gaming.

There are some cromwell blueprints on this site below, not very high res though I'm afraid. http://www.the-blueprints.com/index.php?search/tank/ Forgotten hope did a very nice cromwell, you might be able to take some inspiration from it. http://images.totalgamingnetwork.com/images/080611Cromwell1.jpg

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

Guys, try to get in touch with Fab from WWIIEC, I think he did a lot of research into British and commonwealth uniforms, units and insignia for their Caen mod for ofp - not sure how active the mod team is now, but I'm sure if you get in touch with Fab he will be able to point you in the right direction. 31st Normandy mod -WW2

Well two companies of Tiger II's from the 503rd were in Normandy, late arrivals. Â They will be a factor, so yes. I'm not sure when a model will crop up just yet. Â I'm not going to be modeling this weekend. Â I'm going to be mission writing to get our beta testing underway by next week. Well, there must have been some King Tiger's in Normandy at least on the 18th July because that is when the event in the link below occured. http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=126970 Also, there was Michael Wittmann's (Tiger I's) unsporting behaviour on the 13th on June when he attacked the 4th County of London Yeomanry - which had stopped for a cup of tea at Villers-Bocage and received a brew up of a different kind.

    Mateck's M1A1 (HA)

Very nice, I like the deliberately uncoordinated red barrels. Have you considered at all correcting the BIS error on the shape of the hull? The two top corners of the hull in front of the turret protrude up above the top of the mud guards when seen from the side - they should be flush, as seen in the picture below. http://www.maxwolf.ru/armor/tanks/t72_3.jpg

    1st Infantry Division

I'll give myself 0/10 for originality, but if you do a "very large images" search on google there's some good stuff for the textures. http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/apa/download/BG-ACU.jpg http://www.1ad.army.mil/1ADINFO....9;s.JPG http://www.1ad.army.mil/1ADINFO....col.jpg Big enough?

Arma beta patch 1.09 - released

Well i guess that's why they called it a README file. It's not a DONTREADME file. Allthough i agree they should call it a HELP_ME_I_CANT_GET_IT_TO_WORK file. Joke – noun. 1. something said or done to provoke laughter or cause amusement, as a witticism, a short and amusing anecdote, or a prankish act: He tells very funny jokes. She played a joke on him. 2. something that is amusing or ridiculous, esp. because of being ludicrously inadequate or a sham; a thing, situation, or person laughed at rather than taken seriously; farce: Their pretense of generosity is a joke. An officer with no ability to command is a joke. 3. a matter that need not be taken very seriously; trifling matter: The loss was no joke. 4. something that does not present the expected challenge; something very easy: The test was a joke for the whole class. 5. practical joke. –verb (used without object) 6. to speak or act in a playful or merry way: He was always joking with us. 7. to say something in fun or teasing rather than in earnest; be facetious: He didn't really mean it, he was only joking. –verb (used with object) 8. to subject to jokes; make fun of; tease. 9. to obtain by joking: The comedian joked coins from the audience. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Origin: 1660–70; < L jocus jest] —Related forms jokeless, adjective jok·ing·ly, adverb —Synonyms 1. wisecrack, gag, jape, prank, quip, quirk, sally, raillery. Joke, jest refer to something said (or done) in sport, or to cause amusement. A joke is something said or done for the sake of exciting laughter; it may be raillery, a witty remark, or a prank or trick: to tell a joke. Jest, today a more formal word, nearly always refers to joking language and is more suggestive of scoffing or ridicule than is joke: to speak in jest. Arma beta patch 1.09 - released

After installing the patch - all is well, vastly improved 'fog' on my 8800GTX, although when I start up Queen's Gambit, on screen it says I am still on patch 1.08! and the fog is still there. Have I overlooked something? had a quick scan through the forums but nothing is jumping out at me. Non smart-alec replies appreciated.

    GTX8800 Problems Solved yet?

Have you got any links concerning this problem? I've had my 8800gtx for about 9 months now without any overheating issues. Is it just these latest 169 drivers causing this problem?

    06 -07 -07 Attempted London Bombing

They wont be caught if they are dead (supposedly enjoying their 72 virgin brides in paradise) along with their victims. It will only be a matter of time before suicide bombers acquire weapons of mass distruction - then we can start counting down the days to the apocalypse. Mass delusion in the form of organised religion will be the death of human kind. And before any moral relativists, exercising playground logic remind me that it takes two to tango - yes, I know. That's precisely why I'm saying it. But as George Orwell pointed out: "There is hardly such a thing as a war in which it makes no difference who wins. Nearly always one side stands more or less for progress, the other side more or less for reaction." It makes you wonder wether Orwell had a crystal ball.
