If you're really into it, add your own streetsigns with names of different parts of the city. Not only would it look good, it would also help alot

@OKO. I made a small fix for myself regarding the GBU issue. My small addon makes the GBU-bombs function as in vanilla-arma (I kept NonWonderDogs indirekthit=25). But I'm not sure if I should release it as NonWonderDog should do this "backward-change" in his NWD_RocketBallistic.pbo himself (its not very realistic to miss a lased target with ~500m..). If I release my small petty addon it can be confusion for some if he later fix this issue. @NonWonderDog: I suppose you are going to fix this sooner or later , but are you going to fix this in a near future? Should I "release" my fix?

Russian Federation Units V.2.00

I have read the whole thread, but I cant remember everything now so, a couple of questions to make it clear for me if its ok: 1 - you used nonWonderDogs figures so your weapons/ammo are compatible with his work? 2 - are your weapons compatible with gmj_sightadjustment? 3 - will there be a config that uses SIX_tracers? 4 - will you make your units use extended_init_eventhandlers? I just want to make sure your units fits the rest of my addons. Thank you! -

Full control over the throttle is a very good start. -
Sounds good Obmar! I tried the choppers and when the bug-free version are released its a keeper. But I think the handling are a bit to easy, they are very slow in the respons. It makes it easy to fly but a bit boring. I would prefer they were closer to BIS standards regarding that, flying a chopper should be more sensitive imho.

Yes, I understand that they have to re-tag your addons to make people know which one are signed and not. In MY opinion thats ok because they will use it in their league and needs your addons to be signed. And your tags are still there so its not like they are "stealing" your addons. But its your decision -

The way you wrote that makes it look like RHS will sign the addons? Right now they arent. Or are you meaning the "tags" (RHS and ECL)? So if ECL wants to make them signed, whats the harm? I understand they need to do that to make sure everyone are using the same addon and noone have altered it (cheating). But if you will sign your addons then its no reason to have two versions (will you sign them?) -
I'm building a small test map, only 128x128. After I textured it I get this error-message when I try to load it in the mission-editor and arma crashes: I have succesfully tried the landskape in arma, but after adding sat and mask layer arma crashes with the error message about out of memory. I can see the textures in bulldozer. map-info: size=128x128 squaresize=8 sat&mask layers=1024 (128x8) made by me textures=from SampleMap comp: 2 gig ram win XP SP2 handles arma very good Did I cross some limit (I saw an example on the wiki that used squaresize=5), or is the .wrp faulty? EDIT: I copied the folder and built the same island with squaresize=20. I also had to change the size on the sat and mask accordingly. That one works ingame, so it was squaresize that was the problem. So what is the minimum squaresize?? The example in the wiki had 5..

When I import sattelite+mask I get the close texture in buldozer but no sattelite texture in buldozer nor visitor3. And I have no *.png's in my layer folder. No errors when importing.. Anyone help please? EDIT: Solved it, I hadnt changed the path in "Tools\Project Parameters" EDIT2: "solved it", yeah right... I like arma and ofp and whatever BIS produce, but its annoying with all the searching and learning small trivial stuff that is important but that you cant find easilly.. Setting up visitor3, get all the right imageresolutions and settings, understand the workorder. Nothing is unlogical nor difficult, but its annoying to try&error all the way to the first small island. And whats annoys me even more is that everyone have to do this... Yes I know about the wiki (one of the sources I try to get the whole picture from..), but I guess that anyone thats finally got this working and understand all the small petty details dont want to expand the wiki, they want to harvest all the hard work in visitor3 instead. I know I would.. I'm not giving up, but I wanted to say this. I suppose I'm not alone.. Sorry.

Well, nvg´s are very vulnerable to light emissions and do shut down on their own if they are exposed to strong lights. If they wouldn´t they would be damaged beyond repair. Dashboards in helos or aircrafts usually can be toned down, so the  lightning from the panels doesn´t affect the NV goggles. Those things are really sensitive to sudden light "volume" changes. By the nature of their mechanism they are not very fast in adapting to the surrounding light. There is a delay comparable to the one in Arma, while I still think that the variation in BIS nvgoggles is a tad too high. I agree it could need some finetuning as the effect of emitted light on the nv´s is too high in Arma. The best would be to have somekind of NVG/night-modus for the instruments

Personally I use "print topic" when I read this forum at work. Then it looks really dull and boring, so it seems work related

The good thing about not having it centered is that you can more easily see the graphic-changes without the menu intruding.

@Celery: I asked him to see if I did understand him correctly, it was not about what I prefer.. If it was about the youtube vs original product then I can understand that you will be dissapointed as alot of the youtube-movies are made to look good, show of addons and concepts. Many have added sounds and effects that doesnt come with the vanilla product.

I have NonWonderDogs Reallistic Ballistic using 6thsense tracers. I remember you using NonWonderDogs work for your weapons, why is it complicated? -
Whats not true? Â You can simply go watch a you tube video to support any one of those facts. Do you compare youtube videos made by members of the community with the vanilla product from BIS?

SightAdjustment (windage+elevation)
andersson replied to gmJamez's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I use the mildots as BigDaddy5 explained about. I also use the compass on the map. I adjust the zoom on the map so my compass have the same lenght as a 200m grid. Then I can measure with that. And you can use the new rangefinder just released. -
Same story here. See no reason to use Vista yet.

I hope that arma2 (formerly known as game2?) will be so close to arma so you port over the same models and mods that are/will be made for arma without much problems. I hope that arma2 will add elements that were "promised" for game2, such as rpg-elements and dynamic war. They made the grafics, now I hope thay are focusing on gameplay. (I´m not saying that they shouldnt make better grafics, but hopefully the main focus is to expand their vision to other elements then eyecandy)

If your computer can handle it you can spawn up to 572 Yomies. I have no performance problems and I have a C2D6600, 2 gig memory and a 8800GTS.
