Am I restricted to making configs or can I do it with a script in a mission? Or can I add a config to a mission without making it into an addon? All I can find about this on the wiki is for modders, how to create compatible groups in an addon, nothing for mission makers. I'm not used to all of A3's features yet, so I'm kinda stuck in "old school".. edit:But it seems I'm not understanding something basic here. I just saw that the enemy (CUP SLA) had Urals with zsu23 spawned, and they are not part of any group constellation that I can see '[F2] Groups'. How do alive choose units from a faction? edit 2: I had a search and look in the old alive thread and it do seems like it's only CfgGroups. So I guess I have to make my own little private addon with extra groups. The Ural zsu was next to a road block so maybe it was there because of that constellation? I assume the normal alive groups are taken straight from the CfgGroups(?). -

I been looking through the wiki but can't find any info if it's possible to create custom made groups that alive will place and use. I'm using CUP NAPA and it works fine, but the groups are a bit limited for what I wish for. So can I add custom groups somehow using CUP NAPA units? -

Could it be the problem with AI thinking way too long before moving to next waypoint? A known problem to be fixed.

In what way do the servers graphics option affect the clients...? Except for viewdistance or grass/no grass? -
True. Bi please look into tanks next. One of the exhilarating moments in this game series has for me been watching heavy tanks roll past me while I try to hide or ambush them. Heavy and strong machines that nothing can stop. But in A3 they always give the impression of helium bumper cars.... They bounce around way to fast and erratically. So right now I avoid using tanks in my scenarios.

Let us bind our own keys please. I'm a numpad user and no keys are default in my setup. When I move my camera forward/backwards it also look (down/up).

And I'm a numpad user. No key bindings are default in my setup so please make it possible to bind keys in Eden. (I struggle with Zeus as my forward/backwards also look up/down... Relevant only because Bi should give full control of keybindings).

Careless really do not care. Good for cut scenes or if you want a plane to fly straight and so on. I think you need to play around with setcaptive or joinsilent. -
LOL! Personally I prefer to experience a mission, not try to beat it.

I been playing this game since 2001 and I can understand you. For some reason many of the original mission made by BI is imho strangely difficult, and the default AI settings are known to be too hard. You can change the AI settings, just have a look around this forum and you will find out how. I also recommend to start to play around in the editor. It's a very powerful tool and with just some basic you can quickly create different scenarios to practice and learn from. Place yourself as player, place 1-2 AIs somewhere and try to kill them. Make the AI walk around and do the same. Put in a friendly group and an enemy group. Pop in some vehicles. Soon you will get better and understand more what you need to do, and before you know it a decade and a half has passed by........

Riiiight... My missions normally rely on scripts, as you say I design the scenario in SQF, but who in this world can create a mission like that without checking how the code runs now and then? Hats of to the person who can create something that works afterwards without ever running the code ingame to see how it all works (or how it's not working as in 90% of the time...) Sure if they remove it it's not a big deal for me but I think there are a few valid reasons to keep it hidden in the background. It's stable and well proven since 15 years so I doubt BI must use much time, if any, to support it. And I'm sure that the people who wants it is using it to test different scripts and code so the bugs will be found in the code created. -
I can't hear the bullet impacts in that video, all I hear is the sonic cracks. You need to be closer to the actual impact to hear it, preferably without other bullets flying past in sonic speed. @2:57 I can hear a bullet impact because then the camera is close to a bullet hitting dirt. And that sound is nice imho.

I have a laptop I travel with and use to make missions. I can barely test play the missions on ugliest settings but it works fine for 2d editor and scripting. If forced to 3d editor I doubt I can do that anymore, atleast not without lag and frustration. -

Who said he was playing in Vietnam war era? For sure he didn't ask for NVGs, he told you that he have problem on your island using NVGs. If there is a problem with your island you might want to fix it, don't you? If not so it works when you add the starlight scope. -

I will wait for user experiences. I would also like BI to fix UI's and, most importantly, so that you can have the weapons sight in front of the right eye only. Working collimator sights!!
