    Was the tank AI always this crazy?

    This is one of the reason I more or less gave up A3. Tanks are so important in so many scenarios and they behave like bumper cars due to physX and infantry AI.
  2. I played around with grid size in A2 and when I tried really low numbers the AI didnt know how to navigate/move. I assume that is no problem on this map? :)
  3. What you see on the ground are shadows from big alien spaceships hovering higher up. If you manage to shoot down the spaceships you will find alot of furniture and dead women at the crash sites.

    The AI is so much better in A3. Better than ever. BUT it seems it came with a cost as they are much worse at driving vehicles. It seems like the microAI is on even in vehicles as they try to move with the same logic. They did it in OFP too but then the foot soldiers were more stiff as a group. I would love to have the more simple OFP/armed assault AI for vehicles and turn the A3 microAI on when the soldiers are on foot. But I probably talk out of my arse as I have no clue really how BI do it, but I would love OFP/armed assault-vehicles and A3 soldiers when it comes to AI.

    I lost my motivation when I tried to create small simpla OFP missions and couldn't get the basic AI maneuvers/WP to work. When you can't trust AI vehicles and WP you kinda give up. Also the bouncy tanks is such a immersion killer for me. Sure you can always find a way to get your mission done, but what used to be simple basic things is today for some reason hours of frustration with the end result that even if it works you can't trust it will next time you try.
  6. Since win7 force feedback has been strange/non existant for me. Even MS own stick is not supported. I guess today it's all about touch pads and rumble game pads... :(

    This is another step towards BI new agenda of "user friendliness", "user experience" and "mainstream availability". Soon to be played on controller with match making... (relax, I will grabb a snickers).

    In OFP we could look at the other crew members and see if they were bloody or not. I did it after a hit as it was quicker than fiddling with the radio. I'm sure that is what kju ment.

    This mod still have a point without pip. The optics still work which is the main thing and you have immersive internals (OFP did it without pip). The pip is crusting on the cace I would say, an addition to immersive internals. I even dare to say that this mod would still have a point without internals as the tanks are really well made.

    I have very immersive fond memory from OFPs SP mission "lone wolf" where I was hiding under a tank while the guard was walking past me, and then when I managed to get into the tank I could sit there and relax a bit looking around inside as I wasnt operating the tank. But as soon as I looked through the optics and moved the turret so the tank came alive the alarm went off. Also in the mission "heavy metal" I could relax from the optics while the tanks were moving towards the area of operation, just looking inside and see the stabilized gun move, at the same time keeping an overview through the small view ports. Sure I truly understand that small things like that might not be worth the big effort of building interiors so I'm not expecting it to happen. But the loss made me stop playing in tanks. I hate being glued to optics all the time, ruins my immersion completely. But just me make it clear; I do understand why not and that the few like me are not worth the effort for BI. Way to much work that should be spent on other things. Luckily we got Burnes :)

    No. This forum works like this; From all the jokes and theories one more plausible theory will surface and establish itself to a truth over time. When BI officially announce the truth most players will be disappointed that they will not receive the hangarship full of flying squirrels they been waiting for since many months. Sometimes BI do deliver more than this forum can imagine and all are mindblown, but what can top a squirrel hangarship...?

    Orange gives us vitamin C. Vitamin C is important so sailors don't get scurvy. So obviously we will get a fully functioning hangar ship from which we can take of with all the new jets. And tanks DLC is misinterpreted, it's all about fresh water and ballast...

    Tank movement is #1 for me. I want heavy unstoppable tanks instead of power sliding bumper cars. It's such a let down to set up an exciting ambush just to see the tanks swish past you bouncing all over.....

    Agree, I think the orange is only as the studio is in Amsterdam. Nothing more to it than a code name. I'm quite sure the devs know why they opened up a new studio. It would be a first when a business opens up a new studio just to see what the customers might want to have...

    I hope for direct input from my controllers. Now you are telling the plane/ai what you want to do and it fly the plane in that fashion. The throttle for example is a request for a certain speed, not thrust. So you can hear the engine do whatever even if you give full throttle. So advanced flight model for planes please :)
