Using jpg instead of paa

So why do people release missions without checking that their jpg's show up? -
I can only give my opinion but I think this thread will do fine. I guess that what you are doing is part of the vision kju had? If you want to play safe you could start a thread in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS. Put CAA1 somewhere in the thread description and people will know. I have done some mission porting from OFP, Armed assault and now arma2. I understand what you have achieved by porting the armed assault campaign and that impresses me! Sad to read that you struggle porting over the Queens Gambit campaign as I liked that one. I never liked the armed assault campaign and I rage quit it after a few missions due to it just being to hard. When I played in veteran and mission after mission just kept throwing loads of enemies on me alone I just got tired. I will go slightly OT here:if you give up on Queens Gambit but still want to port a campaign, could I suggest that you have a look at porting retaliation for CWR2? I guess you need the authors permission, or maybe CWR2 crew can give it? That is a very good OFP campaign which means less scripting. We dont have climb yet ;) Some could argue it's all prince of Persia but I heard rumors about soldiers climbing...

Yes, this is about what the default settings are. I never play with 3rd but I do like it when I make missions.

It works fine in all of the winter maps I played on. The visibility "issue" goes both ways. Just like on any desert map. -

Please disable it when tired so we can only vault then. I know BIS implemented a load system and I hope it will affect the stamina too. If/when it do that your mod will benefit from that as people with heavy load will get tired quicker. Also have us use vault during tactical pace. -

I ported the islands myself but I didnt check whats needed to update the configs to make them truly A3 compatible, like Shakura San is doing (check discussion forum). What I experienced from my quick port was that I could see the ground during night. Twilight feeling in the middle of the darkest night. Noone else experienced that? Is the night ok with this port? -
I was watching one of my friends playing SP campaign in one of these games, cant remember which but it was an interactive movie. The problem for me that made me completely uninterested in it was two things: 1 - it was boring gameplay. Very limited options what he could do if any, and nothing but a shooting gallery and if any "puzzle" they made sure to guide him through it. 2 - the "movie" was boring. So if you like interrupted shooting gallery or a bad interrupted movie, sure why not.

Haystack15, I'm sure Chortles replied to the discussion before your post. It was only 4 minutes in between so he probably didnt see your post until he hit reply. Happens all the time. In reply to your comment; yes the arma game has changed alot since OFP but it's still the same concept. As it looks BF has changed concept and game mechanics. It's a difference there. I personally dont know much about BF as I never played it, so I base that on what I read in this threads and the links given. Thats the way I understand this discussion and why old players and some developers are not happy.

I would recommend to do a quick ugly 2x2 first just so you understand the process. Play around with the different techniques and programs so you understand it. Dont give a damn of how it looks as you will delete it all at the end. Then when you understand the process and programs you can take the decision, and if you go for it you can focus on creativity instead of tutorials and learning the software. -

Thats why I have 3 keys on each side for strafe. Then I can move my fingers/hand up and down depending on the speed I want and still have strafe close ;) I like numpad because all the keys are easy to find as they are in straight rows and are isolated with plenty of corners to get feedback from when I dont have time to look. My brain and fingers want the keys to be set up in a logical order and struggle with the wasd clutter. A bigger table is needed though as I have to push the keyboard to the left for ergonomics. But that frees up some space for joysticks and beer so I dont mind :) -
Didn't project reality succeed in making a good TvT environment in arma2? What game mode is good or not is all up to the mission makers.

If you missed it it's from the thread I linked to on the page before this. Das Attorney put it in game. Instead of discussing it, why not try it yourself and jump-jumparound?

It's ready when it's ready. I remember when I uploaded the HiFi NA mod after I put everything in the installer. I was so worried that I forgot some small detail or whatever and I was on the way to Spain at the same time. The upload took more time than anticipated so I had to let the taxi go for 5 min outside my place while waiting for the last mb to upload lol. All the way to Madrid I was worried and as soon as I could I popped into an internet cafe to log on and see if all was ok. It's not always easy, but we were lucky I guess. It's so easy to miss something. Anyway. I'm kinda comfortable in my fetal position so I think I'll just spend the night in my corner. See you tomorrow :) -

I updated with six updater and the 1985 campaign is still the short one. I'm now downloading the demo from the link in the first post. I'm saying this so noone else will do the same mistake out of habit, six is not updated yet :) (2 more hours to wait for me.. lol)
