Left Shift and Other Keybinding Problems
andersson replied to AZCoder's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
There are alot if keybinding problems in A3. Plenty of keys that are binded by default that you cant change. VERY annoying. -
I been reading up again thanks to this thread and I can find rift for a good price, but samsung odyssey seem to have better picture which imho would be worth it. But I havent tried them so I really dont know. I would prefer one that can be flipped up like the other wmr's, but screen is top priority for me..

Tanks - tracked vehicles driving and handling
andersson replied to oukej's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Keybindings overall is very odd in this game. I have found quite a few examples of hardbound keys that mess up user bindings. Mostly in the editor though. -
Devs! Please return the control of the tank from the commander, as it was before!
andersson replied to mickeymen's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
I don't want the old system back, I want the ancient system back. In OFP commanding a tank was good. My hope is that BI make the driver AI more stupid when I command him and do excatly what I tell him to. But I can dream and remember right....?- 104 replies

The Most Significant Thing Missing From The Sound Overhaul
andersson replied to rekkless's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
What happens if you take of your clothes, will the sound still play? -
Cheers :)

It has been thought of now an then since OFP times. Also some addon-hacks was made. Nothing unrealistic imho and it should be there as an option. Ofcourse weight will play a role, but that should be up to the individual player to choose how much he will carry.

Difficult is good and can be scaled. But when a mission becomes impossible due to preffered difficulty settings I get sad. Then the situation is not life like, then it's gamey and it is designed for hud and other help. A mission in the armed assault campaign is a good example of this. There is no way to defeat a base full of armor and enemies by yourself withna rocket launcher, except by grinding it over and over until you statisticly manage to survive, or to turn on all hud and other help settings. But a hard mission which is believable and demands skill or patient is good imho.

We had women in arma (OFP), armed assault and Arma2. Never saw something spectacular except believable scenarios. Vanilla arma had civilian interaction, but I guess it kinda died in Arma3 due to no alice module (and no women?).
-
Personally I don't mind kids in this game. I fully understand the decision to not have them and I will not argue about it, I'm just not emotional about it. But women should/must be ingame! Both as civilians and combatants. We have women serving, we have women as guerilla and we have women as civilians. They should be ingame for authenticity. I liked to see an old lady walk to her house in a Chernarus village. To old and stubborn to move despite the conflict.

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
andersson replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
From this conversation all I can conclude with is this: RHS-BAF confirmed! So as that is out of the way as confirmed lets dare to speculate about RHS next step after that, which one of the rest of the worlds armies will they do then? Maybe Nepalese navy or Vatican shock-troops?- 16577 replies

Yep, we are spoiled with that behaviour since 2001. It changed in 2013 and it's hard to get over as there is not one reliable/repeatable solution.
-
A bad trend in this thread is people talking about trends from BI and the vanilla, the author asked about bad trends among the player base :)
-
Thank you Karloff for your quick replies and participation in this thread :)

I remember playing as commander in OFP that I had a look now and then at my gunner to see in what shape he was in. Sometimes you could see his bloody face and think "it's not much left in him" and you changed tactics. Or you could see him slumped over dead and you took his place. That is immersion.

A totally black 3D interior with different view ports would be a change to the better. And if a "hub view" is added as twistking suggests it would make it even better.
-
Roleplaying is, as the word suggest, playing a role. Many of us just use the avatar as our interaction with the game world as ourselves. No more personal attachment than to the jumping Mario Bros avatar.
-
Yep no doubt. I understood the reason/choice for the 2035 from BI when they told us, it makes sense. As long as they give us the tech...
-
Very true. and that's why I don't mind BI doing modern high tech stuff. Mods can always use the engine as they see fit for their era.
-
Yeah, every time I host I disable that table. Makes it more immersive and if it's there people tend to compete to be at the top instead of cooperating. Plus it can't be used to cheat.

Korean war would be a change.

In the Finnish coastal rangers I was in a recon squad. We used NV goggles without helmets (then again we didn't use helmets very often regardless). And we never covered our noses (but neither did we cover our mouths) and we did experience down to -35degC in the winter. Bad trends in Arma.... Running all the time with way to much gear. Launcher sniper rifle combo. Using stat table to see if you hit the enemy.....
