I´m so tired of hero-missions, "Its YOU and its up to YOU if this war will be won..." I never played the red hammer campaign to the end because I get fed up to blow 10 tanks and 30 soldiers to s**t every mission. I like when you are just a soldier amongst many. The first missions in CWC are very good, there I´m happy if I get some lousy kills and survive. And I dont mind repetitive missions as long as they got a nice feeling. Ofcourse a harder more "interesting" mission now and then will lift a campaign. And you can always take command a short time as a regular grunt too, if your leader gets shot or there is a scout mission. Then when that mission/missions are over back in line. A campaign should aim for feeling (voices, characters) instead for every mission to be that perfect mission that has everything. Surprise the player? Make a short mission where nothing happens. Also if you make shorter missions you can really give the cannonfodder-feeling to the player. If he dies its no big deal to start over. I have a feeling that people choose to have the player as commander of a group because its much harder to build a mission where AI has command. To make this short: One in the line, no hero. I would like that!

Does anyone know how to reduce or change the color of wheeldust? I dont like when there is brown dust on winter islands...

Yes the wintercolors are good. But how do I change the size of the clouds? The helicopter washdown effect should be really big (over the chopper) and also the tankdust should be alot bigger. If you give me some hep I can do it myself

I just must say this.... I´m making a winter config right now. Instead of everon, malden and kolgujev I use their winter counterpart! So now I only have to change the units, right now summer UCE-russians and BAS-rangers are freezing their toes off! Then I´m going to play the campaign 1985 during the winter with all lovely effects implemented by goldmember. I LOVE THIS EDITABLE CONFIG!!!!

Maybe random? Sometimes it burns and crashes, sometimes it explodes when it crashes with only burning parts left (delete the plane) and sometimes an explosion in the sky and only debris falling down? I have big confidence in goldmember! But first I´d like to see the best helicopter washdown-effect implemented.

I can break everything! Even DKM I use ofp manager, pbo_decryptor13 and patience. Some negative numbers gets wrong with pbo_decryptor13 but I can see the right values in ofp manager. Copy and paste.... @ @cero: Sorry, I cant. "My" config.bin are made to my addonfolder. I slaughter all addons to my own needs so to get permission from all addonmakers and mods is a big project. And then you had to download my addonfolder because there is alot of tags in one addon ;) ex BAS Rangers with custom made INQ-weapons. @ all addonmakers: Dont worry! Its for my own personal use

Jinef said first that there was MP-problems but corrected himself later so I dont think there is. I have no experience in MP so I havent a clue if there can be problems or not.

Sure. Its played as a MP-mission but its only for one player (its a respawn thing) so you cant save. When you die you respawn as a POW somewhere and must escape to continue. And it can be a very loong mission so you have to like to sneak around the djungel for a couple of hours and there can be very long distances you have to walk. But the only addon I use is "sebnam2". I´m thinking of adding my backpack but right now its only "sebnam2". I´ll write a readme (there are some scripts of other people involved) and correct some bugs that I noticed the last time I played. Then I can mail it to you.

@Waffendennis and everyone else that want to change and/or improve my work: Go ahead! You all have my permission to use it as you wish (its in the readme). All I want is to see my idea develop. The ofp-community are in need of backpacks. Waffendennis, if you can make it possible to check whats in the pack it would be wonderful. But I hope you doesnt make it possible when you carry the backpack. Its more realistic to drop the backpack and then you can see whats in it. And there is a better script coming to my backpack soon. But keep working!

It can get very intense in Ia Trang for me. I made a SF-mission where you have to find a downed chinook. The thing is its random placed and your huey will crash! You dont know where you start, where or when you chopper will crash or how many of your group that will survive the crash. Weather, time and VC are also random. I dont know anything and made the mission! Anyway. I scripted the enemy groups to walk slowly and be very cautious ( stealth and UP mode) when they dont know of any enemy. So there I am 5:20 in the morning. Its a little fog and the sky is red, the djungel sound are intense. I´m scanning a opening with my binoculars before I cross it. I´m just about to when I see a shadow crossing a path on the other side of the opening. All I could see is a group of VC that is crossing the path one by one slowly, weapons ready and watching all directions. The morning sun and the fog made the picture so beautiful. And their behaviour and the fact that I just was about to cross that opening made it so intense. If I´d cross that opening I´d probably get into a firefight and lost. Me against 4 and with bad lightconditions from my direction... I couldnt see where they were going, they just disapeared in the djungel. And so did I, in the other direction. To be shot up 15 minutes later by a sniper.... That was one of my best ofp-moments.

You´re not the only one with the p3d problem. But one told me it was a problem with hes zip-program. He had no problem when he used WINRAR. Thats also the program I packed it with so try that. I have´nt tried it in MP but Jinef and Lupus[WD] played with it in MP (look higher up on this side)

@4 IN 1: I´ve been thinking about that backpack/parachute since I saw that new nice steerable chute. Its realistic to jump with a backpack, its carried in front of your legs. When you´re just a couple of meters above ground you drop it down, but its still hanging from a rope below you. If I´m not wrong.. I believe that it shouldnt be so difficult to script? Just setpos a backpack hanging from a unit until it hits ground, then "release" it. Scripting gurus, can it be done? And can some kind of fatique-script work? And to continue 4 IN 1. I can carry 4 weapons in a backpack! ;) I have done it, when I did my year as a finnish recon in the coastal jaegers my backpack sometimes weight around 40-50 kg (food, water, radio, anti-personell mines, clothes + extra depending on situation)+ equipped vest and weapon. So I think that 4 weapons shouldnt be so hard to carry. But youre maybe right about the ammo. 20 mines IS HEAVY...  But if anyone wants to change the weapon/ammo capabilities open up the config.cpp in the unpboed folder and change transportMaxWeapons=4; transportMaxMagazines=20; to whatever suits that you Â

Thats good to hear Jinef! But some bad new is that my account at freewebs.com is frozen.. "The page you are looking for has expended its monthly bandwidth allowance and will be frozen until more is purchased or its bandwidth is reset. " Its possible to download it from ofp.info but they dont have Mr Greys version with sound so.... What to do?

@killagee, Jinef and all other that experience budgs, problems and so on: That was expected, thats why I posted this at A&M:Discussion. But it was moved to A&M:Completed. I havent done much testing with it because I wanted the community to develope this. I say again, I´m not good at scripting and this is my first addon so I´m kinda new to this.. But I really like the positive way you all look at this "addon-idea" and I hope with all your help we soon have a MP-compatible, bug-free and good-looking backpack! As an example "Mr Grey" have made an improvement by adding sounds to it. You can download it at my Webpage

@waffendennis: If you can do it AND keep track of every backpacks cargo then you should do it. I cant, my skill is limited edit: I´m not saying its impossible. I just dont now how @All with link-problem: I have no problem open up the site and downloading so I dont know what to fix. But if anyone can and want to host this go ahead. @Wardog: I let you do whatever you want do do with it! If you read the readme you can do whatever you want (even misuse it, if its possible.. ). You dont even have to give me credit (I´d like if you do it but you dont have to). One reason to release this was to start the development of backpacks. So everyone whois into it, go ahead! I already got an email with a updated version!! "Mr Grey" have added a zipper-sound to it! I´m going to test it and put it up on My Webpage And thanks for feedback!

I have problems with the DR+BLOOD. Thers no DR-sound at all and the BIS sounds are real low. I installed it correctly (I think?).

Thank you all for feedback! @Shadow: Sorry but theres not any inventory slots. Its a hidden crate you put your stuff into (explained at the beginning of this topic and in the readme). @ruff: I dont understand.. If you downloaded the file there should be a readme (read it everyone!!), a backpack.pbo (put this to your addon-folder), an example mission (user/missions. You find it at desert island) and a folder with the addon unpacked (if you want to take a look "inside" and change/build something new). @joltan: I dont know. I cannot personally test it. The scripting are very basic though so it would anyway be good to change it. Anyone good at scripting? @killagee: The link works for me but anyone who wants can host it (the readme give everyone all rights to do whatever they like with it ). I can mail it you if you want to. @STGN: Maybe you can change something on the model. Truly I dont know. This is my first o2-modell so I´m new to this.

Thanx for all the positive feedback!!   @Wardog. This is my first o2-work so I`m relatively new to this so I dont know how to make different proxies(?). @AKM. I have no idea if it works in MP. My scripting skills are limited and I dont have anyone to play MP with (and to high ping for internet  ) So this is one of the reasons I gave it away to anyone. I`m kindy busy right now and theres no reason for me to keep this work for myself. Its better to let the more skilled in this community work and develop it (hopefully!). It will give better results and faster. But I will continue working on this now and then. Maybe different bergen-models, winter/desert. If anyone improves this one way or another can you please send me a message/email or reply to this or ofpecs forum? I hope this idea will spread into more addons of this kind!

I made a backpack addon. Its far from perfect but it works. Anyone who wants it can have it. I dont have the time and will to develop it at the moment. You can get the file here: backpack Its a backpack-addon (secondary weapon) to which you "assign" a special crate (cargocapasity 4 weapons, 20 magazines) and when you drop the backpack the assigned crate are moved to the units position and 1 meter under ground so you cant see it. But you can take and put weapons to the crate (name "backpack") as you would to the backpack. When a unit picks up the backpack the crate goes to pos [1,1,-10]. There are issues and basic scripting and so on but it works for me. So if you need a backpack at all cost then its maybe ok? Or if you want to make something of it youre welcome.

I agree about the vulcan sound. Its too weak. I love realism but realistic ak and m16 sounds are too weak. You experience it different if you shoot a gun so therefor is it alright to have more powerful sounds. JAM have nice sounds! They give the feeling of punch!
