    They wished for more people to enable stamina on servers and now more will turn it off. I truly believe that most servers with stamina turned off do that as they are not interesting in simulating that aspect and want a more fluent nice gameplay, NOT because they think the stamina system was bad. So in trying to fix something that wasn't broken to a group that do not want it they are ruining it for the groups that do want stamina. An analogy? Isn't this a bit like trying to nerf the Advanced Helicopter FDM so more people would use it? It wouldn't work. The sim pilots would cry and the "transport A to B" wouldn't use it anyway. Luckily the FDM is local so it's not up to the servers to choose. If not BI would maybe try to "fix that one too" based on official missions/servers statistics...

    Is it the same when you split a group into teams, ie 'team red', 'team blue' and so on? @froggyluv: agree fully. I have stopped taking commands of AI due to frustration. I love the micro-AI in AI groups when they are doing their thing freely in an open mission, but as a leader it's so frustrating. I wouldn't mind OFP/Armed Assault AI in my own group (AND in vehicles overall, there the micro-AI fucks up too, just look at the behaviour in a tank formation...).

    I guess they are too deep into this to revert? I wouldn't be surprised if the stamina was disabled in most MANW entries to win more votes as the mission then cater for more players, including the ones who prefer to play with stamina enabled. If stamina would be enabled in a MANW entry one can assume most "casual" players wouldn't try it properly. This doesn't necessarily mean that the system is bad, it's just not mainstream. So I think that conclusion in the quote above was BI's first wrong step. And maybe that lead to the impossible mission to make a system to cater all players, even those that don't like stamina and disable it in whatever form. I understand if people want to play without stamina/fatigue, it makes perfect sense not to. Sometimes you just don't have the will or time to walk and you just want to get into the action and have fun. As always BI listens to feedback (an amazing developer!) and are trying to improve it with the result right now that players do not fully understand the system. The stamina bar is misleading and the avatar feedback/equipment penalties are not intuitive. They should have scrapped this and improved the old system with commands, stamina bar and tweaks. More months doesn't bring back the months already wasted... Well, maybe I am a part of a small minority and I will be proven wrong when it hits the stable. But I doubt more missions will have stamina enabled, even if this system would be an improvement to the old.

    Thats the way it was in OFP and I prefer what they have in A3. What I wish for is the old system back, what we have in stable. Then make it disabled as default so most servers are without and the ones with special interest can enable it on their servers. Then add a stamina bar to that system which can be toggled on off in the UI settings. Then BI have reached their goals, all of them, and new users of this game will have a fun experience running forever while they cater for the sim guys too. edit: for sure tweaks could be done in the old system too, but the base is very good imho and I like it very much.
  6. If I only play with RHS, is there any reason for me to use this mod? I use enhanced and sonic crack with RHS since ever, but do this mod add anything to that mix?

    Quite sad and funny. What the old system needed was a stamina bar. So they added a stamina bar and for some reason completely revamped the system. Now we have a stamina bar that doesn't correlate to the experience so we would be better off without it, with a system that doesn't add anything more than what we had before except confusion/irritation.

    It almost sounds like BI is trying to balance gameplay by putting restrictions on "high value" weapons.... Honestly I'm a bit worried about the latest changes BI has done regarding fatigue/stamina. They have posted their goals but as they already were there one has to wonder what they truly are trying to achieve.

    I would love to have the MicroAI disabled in tanks (vehicles) and the old OFP AI used there. Let the MicroAI be for infantry. Buuut I guess it's easy to wish for and hard to achieve...
  11. Let us aim and shoot MGs standing, but just like in RL let there be a lot of sway so it's only good for spray and pray.

    Ok, I just can't see the problem if a player accidentally puts a round or two in a closed tailgate... - Case tailgate: try to not shoot the tailgate but if it happens it's just a non-vital parts of the car so nothing should really happen except the sound of the bullets hitting metal and the bullets loose speed and change direction. Even if the AI sits at the back of the truck and spray the tailgate, so what? In RL I expect to get bullets my way if an enemy knows I'm hiding behind a sheet of thin metal. - Case no tailgate: you can shoot at the enemy which you can see without being hindered by an invisible limitation.

    My point was to let us shoot through the actual tail gate :) If it's not there we can see and shoot, if it's there we should be able to shoot at/through it as it's a non vital part of the cars function.

  17. No. You should run in the direction your body is facing not where your gun is pointing. With aiming dead zone 0 those two are the same so then you are running where your gun/body is pointing. With a higher aiming deadzone you can run in the same direction while shooting more to the left or right to you. Thank you BI :)

    I had a an old OFP player/friend join in on an A3 session last night and he hadn't played this series since OFP so it must be close to 10 years ago? When he fell behind us and slowly trotted to our vehicle he said with a laugh "I shouldn't have packed my big backpack full of ammo, I need to dump some in the truck." Nobody ever told or explained to him about the fatigue system. It was natural and obvious what he had done and what he needed to do, just like in RL. This was with stable 1.52. I fully concur with Lordprimates post. BIS, please put your effort into old obvious bugs instead of creating work fixing something that wasn't broken (I would love to be able to turn my avatar in tactical pace while aiming.....)

    I don't understand why people who don't like fatigue are complaining. They can turn it off and they will be able to turn it off in the future. Even if 90% of the players are turning it off the fatigue/stamina is there and it should be improved, if so only for the remaining 10%.

    As said above, people generally play with just a few friends and are looking for missions 2-6 players. Another thing that would is a better ingame VOIP system. Right now you normally end up using TS and that means you end up with your friends even if there are more people on the server.
  23. That is the issue described by me in the notes. The bug is not really that you can't turn, that is the effect off a too big dead zone. The bug is that the dead zone affects the turning speed when you are walking with sights up. At first it looked like it only happened with a big dead zone 75%+, but then as I started playing with 50-60% dead zone while waiting for BI to fix this bug I noticed that my avatar was turning slower than normal. So after some tests I concluded that an increase in dead zone also slows the turning speed while walking with sights up. The more dead zone the slower you turn until you can't turn at all (around 75%).
