I do not have a trackIR nor a z800 but I have done some research (will buy a trackIr some day). @bravo6: I´m sure the trackIR will not give you headace or anything. But alittle info about the z800: Nope, its not totally different. The z800 is a combination of stereo-glasses (to small displays instead of a monitor that will give a 3d effect) and something similar to TrackIR (instead of ir it works with gyros). So it has the same function as TrackIR but with added 3d. From what I have read about z800 its one of the most promising VR products. But the things that I do not like (besides price...) is that the displays only have a resolution of 800x600. I also read that there is a small delay tracking the headmovements from the gyros (not as fast as trackir). They recommend to take a break after one hour because, that the combination of info from the virtual world and inner ear can be confusing for your brain. The small delay from the gyros do not make it better.. That MAY make you sick. I might consider to buy one when it has higher resolution and as fast head tracking as trackIR as it must be one of the better immersion-gadgets.

True!! When you think about it there is a need for a "militia/civilan formation". Random positions in a group. In sweden its called "formation skithög" (formation shitpile, formation pile of shit or something in that manner....)

When you wait for more news about Arma you can always be entertained by Ukraineboy´s negative attitude. I will miss him if (when..?) he is banned from this forum. Sorry, couldnt resist. Usually I do not post pointless replies but I had to give Ukraineboy some credit.

About this "high poly" talk, I thought arma will use about the same polycount as ofp but use another mapping technique that makes it look good? So called normal mapping. I can be wrong though.. I`m afraid that addonmakers start making highpoly addons that fits better in photos than in gameplay... Normal mapping, is that "easy" so addonmakers in general can use that method instead of compensating with performance killing polys??

Yeah.. I suppose you`re right. But it would be nice to try it... (Must get a better job to afford every gadget I "need"... ) edit: had to add an interesting link about z800 edit again: it wasnt that interesting... edit once again: a review. I think the answer for me is; not yet but the technology is soon there. (3dguru link)

@Daddl Yes. I second that!!! I have had much problems with my shutterglasses! And then I bought an ATI-card without thinking and they do not support them.... But That is not about shutterglasses, that is about the VR-helmets with two separate displays. And I`m very curious about them (especially this one) as the price for one of them is about the same as a good monitor, a pair of shutterglasses and trackir.

I would love to but I must find me a better job first.. I`m thinking of writing to 3dguru.com and ask them if its possible for them to try. They are always trying out new things... Thats why I do not dare to buy one too....

Hmm, yes. Thats true. Do you think that when its 2 800x600 displays that you will experience it as better resolution? Explanation..: With shutterglasses you can use 800x600 and get the impression that it is 1600x1200 because of the "2" pictures.

Hmm... If I`m not mistaken the resolution would be good considering the small displays. 800x600 is quite good on a 15" screen, but useless on a 21" and bigger. So I thought that 800x600 would be good on the small displays, even if you are close to them... Is there any reason to have higher resolution on a 0.59" screen? Split a screen that is 0.59 inches 800 times and the resolution is good,split a 21" screen 800 times and its not that impressive. Or have I missed something..? The refreshrate of 60 Hz is not that impressive, but its better than my refreshrate with shutterglasses edit: Yes, that fresnell-lens looks interesting. With that prize its cheap enough to test, especially as you can combine that with shutterglasses.

800x600 is good considering the small displays. Yes, it would be nice to try it out.

www.3dvisor.com Its not that expensive (549$ ) considering that it is 3d view and also works like trackIR. Add 3d sound headphones and you get a nice experience? Zalman headphones Its out there if you search, but I suppose most is expensive s**t... www.stereo3d.com Edit: I must add that I´m thinking of buying this as I need a new computer soon. Thinking that instead of buying an expensive monitor that can handle my 3dgoggles (LCD-shutter) I can put that money into this project. Does anyone have experience with "real" 3d-goggles? A little to expensive to buy for a test..

I like the new animations but the running animation looks like its a person unused to wear all the equipment.. But overall I´m very satisfied with the result. I never had much worries but this is much better then I hoped for! What about different animations for different weapons? Is it possible with the new animation-system?

Look at "enemy units" - "veteran". There you can see that "Expert" is highlighted. If you look at next setting under "Expert", is it "Custom".......? Â That would be great if you could define their skill-levels. I hope you can define them to be alert but shoot bad Â

If you use dxdll you can disable all hud.

Yes I tested several kombinations, even "vanilla"-ofp. Same result. I´m quite sure its my win2000, not ofp, right now. I can join MP btw..

Is that a confirmation that SIDE-wind affects the bullet? Cant it mean air-friction, that the bullet slows down? I hope the wind will affect the bullet sideways too..

I made a script that I only want to affect the leader of a group. Hello! I'm trying to figure out how to use different readystances (using DMA-anims) in the same config. I have tried to understand exactly how the variantsAI[] works but I havent solved it.. How can I change what anim is played and the chance and time for that anim-variant to be used?

I cant download DMApackARMY from filefront. Its slow and then it freezes. Its the last file needed for the whole pack. I cant download from any ftp with my connection.. Can anybody help? Edit:Finally Filefront worked! It took me "only" 2 days to get that file..
