D\l link = I surely could use those. I have 10 CDs and 2 DVD disks full of addons already.
-
Cool, looking forward to it. Any missions planed for updated Afghanistan?
-
Don't worry, mate. I assure you I always do give proper credits to original authors, whenever I use somebody's work.
-
Ahhh... this is a whole bunch of really nice looking stuff in here. It's a shame it's in such unfinished version. I hope you guys won't mind if I take some of the building, polish them up and add to my City Buildings pack in the future? Â
-
Hey Winters, I've found the one in the village north of airport, but I can't find the other one. I've been driving around the place for like half an hour or so. Do you have grid ref.?
-
You clearly display you know nothing about how addons are made. What you call "simple extra controls", is an effect of days or weeks of hard work. In most cases addonmakers decide to drop such nice features, because they change little to how the given vehicle will be used. Be grateful for what you get or go play another game! Nobody here really cares about your 'alpha version' designations.
-
What is it anyway? 700MB uber-repack of already released addons?
-
You know what? Go make some addons yourself and show you can do better than these before coming over here and saying somebody else's hard work is worth shit! . . . . If you haven't notice, OFP does NOT support all the advanced control panels very well and majority of more sophisticated display is almost impossible to make. It's really unfair to ask people to go waste more time working on features that will be hardly ever noticed and used. What purpose M577 could serve anyway, other than a target for a Spetznas team (exagerating a little bit ).

Hmmm, so... where is it?
-
Definitely to be fixed. Thx, Soul Catcher. Any volunteers to browse through the whole thread and provide me with a list of reported bugs in one post? I'd really appreciate that.
-
Not square meters. Normal meters, just like hardrock said the limit's 64x64meters, which means 64 meters long and 64 meters wide.
-
Noted - will do. Â Thanks. At least till update... Bug noted.

Great!

Thanks for all the kind words again, especially philcommando, I really appreciate your input. Just remember, it's CAT_SHIT_ONE who did maybe 98% of the work, then I came over and did the final 1% (this clearly shows how much the final 1% can mean, when it comes to user satisfaction ). The missing 1% you will find in the upcoming update. Seems like, this island is much more versatile than I thought. I like it more and more. It even replaced Desert Island for me, when testing new addons (cos it's so lag free). Everybody will find someplace to cater. You get lag around the big cities? There're smaller villages all around the place. BTW. Answering the streetlamp question, sorry that's not possible WRP-placed lamps don't show up in mission editor (they have to be configured as cfgNonAIVehicles). If you need such a streetlamp, look for Lester's AEF Reallights or F3WX_O1.

Actually, size of basic single island in ofp is up to 12.8kmx12.8km = 164 sq km which is far more the 25sq km in that game (5x5km only?). For Tonal size islands it's 25.6x25.6 = 655 square km, 25 times more than in that game. Nothing can beat OFP. It looks nice, though.

Hmmm, I admit it might be fun, but what purpose would it serve?
-
If I only had a handful of pictures, especially showing pushtuun inscriptions, I could think about changing some of existing objects into shops, etc... Besides, IIRC Schoeler was working on some sort of middleestern style cafe. Maybe somebody could track him down and ask... Â Edit: wooot, haven't noticed, but I just got the 3rd star.

Looks like I'm gonna go to store nearby and buy a case of good Czech beer (which is cheaper in Poland than it is in Czech), and send it to him for all the help provided so far. PS. If only BKM gave us permission to put it into CATIntro.pbo...

You forgot to say that there are only a few of these new ones built (SMT versions), while the avionics of majority of F-16 is far superior to avionics of majority of MiG-29. Also, it's interesting that one flight our is estimated to cost around 20000$ for MiG-29A, while it's around 15000$ for F-16C (Block 50/52) and below 8000$ for way more modern JAS-39 Gripen. Source (Polish only) PS. Hmmm, I can't really understand, why you, being Lithuanian, boast Russian equipment so much. Really no offence meant, though.
-
Whatever you say, Sea Demons plane can make 180 degree turn almost on spot an this is highly unrealistic. ...maybe MiG-29 can out manouver F-16, but thanks to outdated electronics and rockets, it won't be able to shoot it down.... so what?

Pappy, if the place is called desert, it doesn't imply it's hot there. It only means it's ..... deserted, not necessarily hot. Â J/k. Anyway, before I started to work on the map, I've made several background checks, including climate, population density and distribution (urban vs rural), geography, etc. This page has some infomation if anybody wants to check. A major part of the Afgahistan teritory is high above sea level, which means it gets very cold in the winter. From now on, let's just assume that the base height on our map is around 500m ASL, then both desert and snow caps are 100% correct in spring and autumn time. (And let's just forget there's sea all around the map, Afghanistan is land locked, but as you all know, that can't be achieved in OFP. Stay away from the edges, you won't even notice it.).
-
I have to agree with you guys, it definitely looks out of proportions.
-
@Matt Rochele, your signature exceeds the maximal dimension as per board rules (600pix wide), please change that. Sorry for OT, ECP team.
-
Asking out of curiosity, have you found what cause all those CTDs? Might be helpful knowledge for others.

I just checked on this one and honestly, I have to say I can't tell the difference between Mapfact lights and CAT's streetlamps (only brightness and color is slighlty different). Here's a comparision: MAP Noe: CAT's Afghanistan: I checked if they show up from behind houses and hills and I don't see this effect. Â @Heatseeker, bugs confirmed and will be fixed, at least in case of these houses. The caves... well... that's whole different kind of story. I'll see what I can do but I don't promise anything, as some of these objects exceed dimension limit, which may render GeoLODs useless. In regard to BIS barracks and hangars, I don't really see replacement for this objects, and moreover, I think these barracks blend in very well with desert environment. I don't have enough time to make whole new objects. I'm not going to use any another addons on this island and I won't remove them from the map. Sorry. @van Nistelrooy, I may possibly replace the current streetlamp model with something like that (NOT exactly this model, just something looking like that): I'm not going to remove the streetlamps completely.
