Could say the same thing, but I don't have VBS1 nor I can afford to buy one. So if it's coming out for VBS1 only, these means I (and majority of us) won't be able to play it. Lacerta was announced as the OFP project. If they said from the beginning, that it's gonna be VBS1-only, I wouldn't say a word.

    Hunter STATIC ANIM

/res/addons or /addons or /anymodfolder/addons (the last one, only if you're using modfolders) Doesn't matter.

    1. Read the readme (if provided) 2. Search the forums before posting. This has been already explained hundreds of times here.

    CAT's Afghanistan Revisited 1.2

Are you sure you are using the latest version? I could have sworn that I fixed this one.

    Halo 2 Sniper Rifle

    No, you can't do that.

Hell yeah, why should I care? I just want somebody to tell us the truth and not the excuses, that made us believe Lacerta will be released some day. Am I expecting too much?

I'm sorry to bring up this topic again, but I think somebody owes us an explanation what really happened to Lacerta project. I was very surprised when watching VBS1 Observer3 demo video, I've recognized some objects from Lacerta screens you guys showed sometime ago. It wasn't a nice surprise, let me tell you that. For example, just look at the pic below: You can find some more if you look carefully. So, what's up with that?

One thing makes me wonder, what's a probability of having tank engagment at 5000m ? Other than in flat, open desert, of course? I guess it's extremly low, especially in European environment.

For glass texture, you can use sklo.paa, that is located in your data.pbo. Ok, I see. The trick is too use combination of both sharp & smooth edges. You have to select edges that appear too "blocky" and use smooth edge function on them... hmmm. I have just made another post here, hopefully this should help you understand how to make certain pieces of the model round.

Sharp / smooth edges in o2

My 2 cents... A simple story about wheels (in general: cylinders) and sharp&smooth edges 1. This is how it looks at the beginning (all smooth) WRONG!: 2. Ok, lets start by making sure it's all smooth (just in case): Translation from the pic: Select the whole wheel and press I. 3. Then you have to select the cross-sections (ONE AT A TIME!) and use sharp edges on every single one of them (press U). Selecting remaining cross sections: http://www.flashpoint.pl/om/uploads/ag_smith/wtut/wtut03.gif http://www.flashpoint.pl/om/uploads/ag_smith/wtut/wtut04.gif http://www.flashpoint.pl/om/uploads/ag_smith/wtut/wtut05.gif 4. This is how it looks at the end. Much better, isn't it?

hardrock, shhhhh.... we don't want everybody to know about it. We don't want overcrowding here, do we? .... hey, heyyy!, you there, stay away from my woman!!! Just joking... Desert-Rat, I'm looking at your textured screenshots. Please, apply sharp faces to the model, as I told you before, then you'll see all the strange lighting errors will be gone... and show as the new pic! As for the scripting... it's not that difficult, too. What every addonmaker does when it comes to new things, he looks how others made it. Simply unpack some released addons with the effects you want and see how they're made. Simply try to copy that design to your addon and you're all set.

    Upgrading Gfx card cooler

This seems to be exact effects of overheating. Don't know much about GFX coolers, but you'll definitely want to put some radiators on that memory chips too. Have you tried to measure how hot it gets when the problems arise?

    Dynamic Afghanistan

Sounds good to me. Tip: try the storm together when it's about to get dark (eg. at sunset), with fog set to simulate ~50 meters visibility and in bad weather. You're closing to a village and you know there is OPFOR somewhere out there. Then all of a sudden, shooting begins. But you can't see anybody... things get scary really quick...

Yup, couldn't agree more. I know about almost a dozen of Iraqi islands being worked on... but none of them is to be released in the near future.

Nice, hi quality stuff there. I hope you guys will release it soon as well as much needed fixed Iraqi infantry.

That's how it begins... and then you become addicted to addonmaking! Good job on your first addon, keep it up, man!

Mass converting PAA/PAC back to .tga

It's still much faster than texview. 1. double click to open texture 2. press Ctrl+S 3. press enter 4. goto 1. If you learn the right timing, you can convert dozens of textures in no time. Got first hand experience on that...

How to make your addon look much better - Usage of Sharp & Smooth edges. For now, I guess it'd be enough to select all edges (Ctrl+A) and use sharpening (press U).

Mass converting PAA/PAC back to .tga

PANTool is the one you need. But I don't know where to find it, maybe try seaching this forum. Edit: It right here. Damn! Actually all the links are dead... I've uploaded a temp mirror here

The Lost world Mod - jarrasic park

You can make them thicker without incrasing lag, I see no connection here.
