    The next version will be ready "soon". Just putting some finishing touches on everything. It will include everything listed above except the Block II M4 with m203. That will be in version 3.

    Thanks for all the feedback. Here are a few points based on the discussion so far (in no particular order) 1. GL Variant - right now this is not at the top of my list but there will likely be a GL variant at some point in the future. 2. There won't be a ton of variants in regards to the magpul stuff. There will be the Mk18s that are already in game plus the magpul variant Sabre posted a pic of a few pages back. We aren't going to mix and match accessories, etc. as that's just a lot of busy work. If BI beefs up the attachment system (which is a discussion in and of itself) maybe they can add support for buttstocks and foregrips / lower rail attachments and then people could build their own weapons to their hearts content :) 3. There will be a black and desert variant of the magpul version just like there is with the regular version. I am still playing around with color combos so I do not know if there will be an all black version or not, we'll see what looks the best. Granted with hidden selections it's easy to create texture variation, however you then also have to do UI icons, which there are now a ton of thanks to the attachment system. So for every variant you have to do 8 icons, which again is just a lot of busy work. I'd rather spend that time working on other projects :) 4. The AFG grip has been moved forward. I've checked the animation ingame briefly and I don't think it stretches much, but I'll have to do some more testing. I made a new hand animation so I can play with it some. 5. Just doing some compiling and testing and a new version should be out. Major changes include: Fixed recoil (much more like arma 2 now), shadows for suppressors, magpul variant and probably some other stuff I can't remember. I've tweaked the model quite a bit and fixed all of the issues people have mentioned as well. Thanks for all the testing. 6. There will be a M4A1 Rail Interface System (RIS) II version. I've finished the model today. Just have to create a new UV and pass it off to Sabre, so that can be expected at some point in the future. Thanks for all the feedback, glad people are enjoying the weapon. Edit: 7. I don't have any plans for any optics at this time. When Arma 3 reaches a final release I will look at what is included / where gaps exist.
  7. Works great. Love playing Arma 2 with the new stances and ragdolls. Breathes some new life into an "old" classic. Thanks to everyone involved.

    Thanks for the reload gesture name, it works perfectly. I've also fixed the recoil and it's much more like the Arma 2 mk18's now. Making a few others tweaks and such, but should have an updated version out sooner rather later.

    I am well aware of the recoil. It will be updated once the beta comes out on the 25th. I see no point in doing an update when things can possibly change in such a short amount of time.

    Did some work on the iron sights. Made the cylinders higher poly and increased size a tad. Thanks to GvsE and Scarecrow for all the info for the configs, I'm working on implementing it.

    Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I will try and address the questions in the order they came. 1. Not sure if I will add an AFG or not. 2. I know nothing about sounds. If someone has better sounds and knows how to add them to the weapons and can do it, I would be more than happy to include it in an update. 3. I also know very little about recoil. If someone wants to send me better values that I can just drop into the config I would be happy to do it. 4. I will look into the iron sights, smoothing out the pilot lod and maybe increasing the size slightly. 5. These will not be back-ported to Arma 2 6. I can add in the FHQ attachments if they do not work, I know how to do that. I'm hoping BI simply addresses the issue of how attachments work in the long run. 7. No idea how to modify the reload animation. If someone knows how to do it and can send me the code I'd be happy to include it in an update. 8. I thought I added dyanmic muzzle flashes, but guess that didn't work. If someone yada yada yada 9. I'll look into the smoothing errors around the charging handle Overall I really want to focus on models, not configs, so if people are willing to help out in this regard I would be grateful. My patience for configs and arma has about run dry :)

  16. Thanks for the sixupdater mirror and getting that all sorted. As far as the ir / flashlight, that goes back to needing an ace config. If someone wants to make one (as I do not plan to) we will gladly include it in an update. I have also fixed the russian voices issue for the next update.
  17. How does one go about getting something added to the Six Updater? I've never done that before. As far as the bugs: I will look into fixing the m203 Eotech Suppressed torch + laser combo. There is no ACE config for using alt-l to switch between the torch and the laser. If someone wants to make one we'd be happy to include it in the next update.

    MK18 will be ready in a few weeks. Now that the SOTG are done for Arma 2 I can focus on finishing up the lods and a few extra attachments.
  20. Nice video CptDavo. It's great to see the units in action. As far as performance goes, we will wait and see what kind of reports we get from various people on various hardware. The units are a little bit on the higher end, but I don't think they should be causing many problems. @Chomiq - the (HS) units are the same as the unit without HS, they just have rolled sleeves. I'm not sure if there is a way to fix the shadow bug on normal settings. I will have to look into it. @Spooky Lynx - I'm no gear expert either, but FAPC is a Fast Action Plate Carrier and VAC is something someone else will have to answer :) They are just two types of vest used by Australian forces.

  23. Thanks for all the positive comments and feedback. Also, thanks for all the bug reports :) Going through and testing everything can be a real bear, and we'd still miss things that people have found. I have fixed all the bugs mentioned so (Acre and Ace backpacks not showing on Secco FAPC unit, MK48 eotech not working with NVGs, alternate optics on Shortdots not working with NVGs and Secco VAC not having 203 rounds) The only issue I am not sure of is the Russian voices issue. In the config I have: identityTypes[] = {"Language_BAF","Head_RU_Camo","USMC_Glasses"}; I'm assuming that I've done something wrong or that Language_Baf is being overwitten by the head_ru_camo or something. If anyone knows a solution to this that doesn't involve removing the Head_RU_Camo please PM me or post something here. These fixes will show up in the next update, along with weapon icons for the crates. If you spot any other issues please let me or Sabre know. Thanks!
  24. Thanks to Sabre for all his amazing textures and Lennard for all his great work on the weapons. Also thanks to Robert Hammer for sharing the weapons he's used and saving us a ton of time. Hope there are still some folks who play arma 2 that will get some use out of these :)
