OF:MEC - Choose a Banner - CLOSED.

At a second thought, SpeedyDonkey2 is OPF related, looks quite official and has got all of the required information! -

I think Drow2 is very nice. Besides catching the viewer's attention, it represent the allaround unike abilities in OPF (not a lot of other games would support heavy artillery cannons, missile-launching groundvehicles, soldiers and helicopters) Not many missions using heavy artillery (yet), but it still is possible in OPF! Good work to all of the candidates!! Â -
I think the main purpose of buying such a product is for a government to get their hands on an all-round realistic combat simulator, not to conquer good ol' OFP. Though I suppose VBS comes with an improved engine and several updated/fixed features. But I think our best move would be to wait for OFP2

Opf user mission creating competition...
andersgrim replied to Placebo's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Sounds great! And my idea would be to end this compo up in some sort of 'the ultimate MissionPack' featuring the 10,20,50 best missions from the competition. -
Itim is indeed the man : ) Mindanao is just growing prettier and prettier...

Apparently you are calling the model from the Dta\Data3d folder where the normal OFP models are located. If I am right, you have typed something like: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">model="g_proxy.p3d"; BUT you must remember to add the full path to your addon. If your addon is called Addon1.pbo, it should look like this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">model="\Addon1\g_proxy.p3d";

post a copy of your config here so any of us can fix it for you ;)

These units are marines, which I suppose use the new experimental "Urban-T" camouflage for urban missions. And as there (as of what I know) do not exist any winter MARPAT issued by the marines, I'd give the Urban City Camo a go as it really fits well to winter environment!

Hmm... a game developer picking employees from the community.. nice going BIS ;) Bet this makes addonmaking a bit more interesting from now on Good luck Earl! Congrats!

I have been trying to figure out how to implent custom animations to unit addons, and I know a pretty sized bunch of fellers attempting the same. A mate is pretty close, but his developement has been stopped as the config seems to crash when configing the handgun anims (not sure of what reason). The 'new deal' in OFP these days as from my point of view is animations. We have seen a lot of new cargo and vehicle anims aswell as a whole lot of nice static anims. But yet we haven't seen a real pack of units moving around in custom anims as the config part seems to be too hard to modify correctly. So is this the right time to ask for some sort of official guidance or a reference to deal with the problems? (I can promise some goodlooking units if you help us out, deal? ;) )

You would, but I assume they do not fear you. (hah, noone fears Jackal :P ).. Nah, I suppose they fear the 1337 'addonmakers' who can't be arsed to create/code their own things, but rip off and leave the addon free of any credit, to get their hands on their sourcecode.

Thanks mate , but the main steps posted there has been followed. The CfgMovesMC has been edited, and this has all been applied to a new unitclass in an addon.

According to Aftenposten, killing those dogs was actually their mission. Homeless dogs might spread illness and disease in the area, aswell as the dogs was said to be annoying and a small threat to the locals. As for the dog killed in front of its house, the owner actually wanted the dog killed, and asked the Norwegian army. One of the soldiers have said something like that dying digs is hard for us to see, as we live in a country where dogs and cats are innocent pets, but in this area dogs spread disease etc. Although it was their mission, the dogs was supposed to be killed with either a shotgun or a 9mm sidearm, not sub machine guns etc, and they were supposed to be shot near a wall or so to secure the background. But the most pathetic is to let children watch while bursting some MP5 rounds into a living creature. Oh, I remember the days I used to be a proud norwegian :\

I think it would be smart of BIS to anounce a word or two now..

And as we are on it..

Well, as we have seen recently, some cheaters just released some cheats to public. I will say the cheat itself is one thing that should have been banned from OFP2 by a proper AntiCheat software, but that's not everything. They have made this tool to change their Player ID - which results in servers unable to ban them. So a suggestion would be a more polite ID (which cannot just be changed. Perhabs Watermarking the CD with a proper CD-ID or have the players register for playing online would be two possible sollutions.) -But, my biggest suggestion for OFP2 would be to implent an anti-cheat client in every copy of OFP2 which locks all the files in ofp (so the players cannot edit them after launching OFP), aswell as it checks all the files in the OFP directory. -If OFP then "caught" a player running a cheat, OFP could either freeze/close, or it could disable MP. (He would then have to close OFP, delete the cheat and restat before able to play MP again). And then release a proper anticheat-admin tool for server admins to use.

I am just curious, in what way is it legal, and in what way is it illegal to sell your work as a modification/expansion for Operation Flashpoint? I see there are unofficial expansions in the sotres like Planet of War and Behind the Lines, but I thought it was illegal for other companies to distribute such expansions..

I assume the speciality for PJ's is to do HALO jumpings and other para-insertions. Though, that is why they are called ParaRescues. So as this is a chopper, a decent chopper crew, including some rescue guys to pick up wounded by sea, is rather what i would like to see So i suppose PJ's do their insertions by a C-130 and other high-fliers. Back onto topic - looks pretty much like the UH-60, but i am sure the diffrence is more over at the effect and scripting side aswell as diffrent mission subjects than the UH. UH-60 or not, seems the usual BAS quality is haunting this addon aswell

Outstanding work! THIS is what you call guerilla forces!

Just a Q for your DPV - will it include new crewmen?

Sorr, I'm pretty new to this thread. Didnt take my time readn all the 263 pages. I really think good effects add 100% more atmosphere to the photo. I remember someones edited "screenshot" some time ago got pretty good slaughtered. Just wondered if this was a safe place
