I concur Wolfbite!
It's me General Nuisance; we had a good game last night. The usual assorted group of numpties playing cops but nevermind. I would suggest dramatically lowering the respawn time rates. Or at least have a cap on the maximum spawn time. 120 seconds sounds reasonable. Whilst I understand the incremental respawn times were added to..'coerce' people into not just doing random killing sprees or suicide runs. It can in effect punish players that die as a result of itchy trigger fingered players or just general incompetence.
Btw when people start as civs, what are the first few things they do to make a lot of money?
I've tried doing only deliveries so that I could buy out all 6 businesses, but that took me in excess of 2 hours.
I was told that buying workers helps, but at 5,000 a go that's a hefty price tag and it does take a while for them to accumulate funds, which only appropriate to about 8,000.
The only other things I haven't tried is harvesting grain/wheat and fishing. Do they yield much cash?
Ta!

In the readme it says that you should put the JAM files into your addons folder or specific mod folder. Is it possible to create JAM as a modfolder then simply load it up with whatever other mod I want?

Thank you Bracken! Works a treat. Makes it a lot easier being able to streamline OFP.

Cheers guys especially Roadkill for the links. I've posted on their site to ask A) for permission and B) to see if any one else is interested.
I'm going to look around for a Challenger 2.

For those of you who play OFP online you'll no doubt recognise CTI (Capture The Island) and the various mods, CR, BWMod & USMod. BWMod being for the German armed forces and US of course being for the States.
Now considering that Germany and the United States are both represented, isn't it time old Britannia was given a go? I'm surprised that there isn't a UKMod in development/been developed. I'm looking for any one who'd be willing to do a UKMod for online CTI play. I'm no programmer and have no experience with modding/scripting (bear with me) but want to learn and looking for others with experience that would be willing to do this.
As I understand it there are various UK units available online and I would consider using them with the express permission of the addons author(s) of course. Thus negating the need to create some addons.
So is any one interested?
Let me know!
FYI my online name is General Nuisance.

I play CTI online quite a bit and want to find the VoiceQuiet mod, which basically disables the audio messages you get from your AI. Speeding things up.
I've looked on OFPEC, OFP Filefront, Opflashpoint.org & Cr-ofp.dyndns but to no avail.
Can any one help me out?

I'm having problems using Kegety's launcher, specifically with utilising my mods. Even though I've added them as seen below, when I launch a CTI game on a server it doesn't detect my mods?
Here's the mods:-
Here's where I added them:-
The only thing I can think of is I got the mod directory name detail wrong. I have written them in the format :-
C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\@VIIKLAND
Surely it's correct?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
For the time being I've added the "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -mod=@BWDVD;@USDVD;@CTITC8;@1.791;@VIIKLAND parameters to the OFP icon which works.

I've had the same problem with low FPS too. Even with/without the DXDLL addon it makes no difference. My specs are :-
P4 3.2
2GB RAM
GeForce 7600 GT 256MB
Which are not the best but decent in my opinion. Yet I always get the stuttering effect which is annoying. Any pointers?

Hello again,
Thanks for the reply
The addons suggestion helped!
For some reason when I try to play a US/BW mod game through Kegety's it won't register the folders I've created when the server scans your computer. However when I loaded the game with the edited executable in a seperate shortcut, it worked. So it must be something to do with how I've set up Kegety's.

Cheers for the replies guys, and I will take note of the 'no spaces' rule thank you

However I've done as you suggested and I still get the same problem that no server picks up my US & BW DVD files.
Just checking, in Kegety's where it says Mod directory name; is this the right input? :-
Also here's my new OFP directory layout :-
Cheers

Hello,
I've downloaded BW@DVD 1.6, 1.73 (missions) and US@DVD 1.03 addons into my addon folder. I heard that having mod folders makes the game 'cleaner', so I put the three mods into their respective folders. Labelled :- @BW Mod 1.6, @BW Mod 1.73 & @US DVD in the OFP addons folder.
As seen here :-
Firstly I downloaded Kegety's launcher and added the three mods, as seen here :-
Whenever I join a server which has the BW Mod running it says I'm missing all the files that are found in my @BW Mod 1.6 even though they're all in there and I've ticked to allow the mod to run on the launcher!
Anyway I tried another option, to make a copy of the OFP shortcut and edit the executable by adding the -nosplash -mod=@BW Mod 1.6;@BW Mod 1.73 parameter. As so:-
Again I had the same problem where the server boots me off for not having the files; even though they're in the @BW Mod 1.6 folder!
I already posted (doing a search prior) for a relevant topic. Came upon the OFP Mod Selector - Release (link) and posted a slightly incongruent post. No answer thus far.
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers

So for instance if I download the mfcti1.16.pbo file, would I need to create a folder labelled 'MFCTI116' just for that one file?
Also when I create a new mod folder, do I just stick it in the 'addons' folder?
I came across this :-
To create an addon modfolder simple pick a name and create the directories "@myname\Addons\" in the Operation Flashpoint directory. Next place all addons you want in this modfolder into this directory and add "@myname" to your "-mod" list when these addons are needed.
So would I just create a "@[General Nuisance]\Addons\" directory (two folders) in the OFP directory?
I have Kegety's OFP launcher in case I need to create a mod folder.
Maybe someone can give an example of what they've done?
-
Specs :-
P4 3.2 GHZ
2GB RAM
Geforce 7600 GT 256MB
111GB Hard Drive
OFP Addons folder 2.08GB
Whether I run video settings on low or high (frame rate & visual quality plus shadow settings) and with/without DXDLL I still get slowdown in the game. Sometimes I'll look at a certain area and the FPS will hover between 65-70 but usually it'll go right down to 30 or less. Especially when I make a sudden move or look around.
The odd thing is that increasing viewing distance significantly impacts 'lag'; considring my specs that shouldn't happen. Also choosing 'very high' on terrain detail seems to cause stuttering too.
- Should I perform a de-frag/disc cleanup? Would the latter be sufficient?
- Do I need to make sub-folders in my addon folder? Should my addons be in the RES Addon folder or doesn't it make a difference?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I remember having the same problem with the 'out of reserved memory' message.
Here's what you can try :-
Go to control panel, find the system icon and double-click. Then click on the advanced tab and click on the settings button under performance :-
Then click on change under virtual memory :-
Then select system managed size and see if that make a difference

I did check the other thread, but it's locked. So i thought i'd start a new topic.
My problem is only playing with certain online mods, namely 'crCTI 0.93'. Whenever i start a game with that mod, i get booted to desktop with a box displaying "out of reserved memory" message.
Here's a screenshot i took :-
My system specs are :-
P4 3.2 GHZ
2GB RAM
GeForce FX 5950 256MB
C Drive 111GB
Gigabyte Motherboard
I thought it may have been the DXDLL mod, so i removed it. That didn't make a difference, i've also seen a suggestion to remove addons. Although i like to play on various servers and some of the addons are necessary.
My addons folder is 1.68GB, with 236 files and four folders (PYP_M82A1), if that helps.
Any help would be appreciated, cheers!

I view that as hypocrisy. If one feels freely able to conduct such immoral behaviour in one arena yet doesn't do the same in an alternative one, surely it's only cowardice? I also think you miss the point of the game, particularly the campaign mode. Which enables the player to choose which path is the preferred one to take. Free-will is a great thing and I don't see how a mission designer can be blamed merely for not providing an adequate 'incentive' to perform a particular action, whatever it may be. Why not embrace the challenge? If you were to ask many veterans from previous real conflicts whether they were motivated to do 'the right thing' so they could be 'rewarded' with medals, adulation and so forth. They'd be horrified at such a notion. They do it for their fellow comrades and because it is the right thing to do. Which in itself is a reward. In addition, I don't look towards anyone else to make it easier for me to perform a moral action. I do it, because I would seek to do so in reality.
They call that vicarious liability. ;)
Thanks for the other information. I've decided to stick to my original plan and just go along with NAPA and Prizrak. I'm sure I could wedge him against a farm door or something. :p
Besides, I always like the challenge.
