Wow, this thread was pretty weird, seeing all the CS-style "CTF"ers coming up out of the woodwork. Makes me proud to be in a co-op squad. But anyway, on topic (what topic?) I'm not too sure about the double tapping to run. It was okay in Americas Army, but I think I want to be the judge of when I break into a sprint, not how fast I can double tap W. But hey, as someone said, I might re-map when I get the game! Problem solved, woo.

Yeah, but tanks literally can't level forests. Ok maybe really thin frail trees, but anything with a bit of width to it is either gonna give your crew a headache at speed, or your tank is gonna ramp it. Even if a situation arises where a tank can topple a tree, it would be nothing like the bullet train going through the forest on that video. Â If the tank can go anywhere, the ability for infantry to take cover in a forest - or for anti tank squads to use natural choke points against armour - is lost.

And to think there was a huge discussion on how people wanted tanks to react to trees.

That sounds pretty messed up. I don't really expect it to, CWC had characters and a sense of "greater good" that really stuck in your mind. You were fighting for people in those missions, you tried your best to keep Berghoff alive, to stop Guba from nuking everyone, to bolster the resistance. I suppose you don't get any of that feeling when the story is portrayed in a generic sense. North invades South. Go protect South. Here's hoping when I get the game I can eat my words.

Yeah, isn't surprising then. Â It'll be cool to see some good tracer addons in ArmA - some of the shots in that mentioned video look as though the choppers are spewing molten lava.

Awesome. That reminds me of that popular minigun-tracer video. Hehe, I'm thinking of the bit in Star Wars where the laser blasts all round that sewage compactor for ages. Â

I've heard the chopper isn't too bad, it's just completely different. I hope it is difficult, but can be mastered too a high degree. But I agree it is a bit odd that it takes a while to control your soldier, hope it isn't too clunky.

strange decisions by BIS. Doesn't really matter. BIS IMO should have put the hind in but havn't, and it's a valid point. Placebo has said a patch will be out with the demo, so we should point these things out.

Resiatance came with lots of new animations, try bugging BIS when they start working on an update.

Guess we got it right when we said the Czechs were guinea pigs. I still can't wait for this game, just the shear scale of it amazes me. Guess we've got to make the most of what's available, and hopefully that'll be a lot more by the time i get my hands on it.

Mahlkav That was my first impression on this thread. But without having played Armed Assault, I can't give an opinion on whether the controls have been changed for the better/worse.

LOL, I'd never noticed that. I think I must have always had a contradictory bind cos I could never get it working right! Thanks for putting me straight Dan  Ah, no probs.  This is all pretty confusing for someone that's trying to think of a machine to buy before Christmas.

Ah, there's some flash to it, awesome. Yeah like Malcolm said it is a wee bit weird the way you can see the texture at an angle, would probably look better billboard style.

Love this screenshot I can just imagine running down to take cover by that wall and leaning past in a firefight. Good to see how diverse the urban areas are. Just thinking, is that the full extent of the lightning effect? If so, it would have been cool to have a flash of light at the top of the fork. It looks a bit frail for lightning.

Could someone make a video of a fight in a forest? To showcase the sound effects that people have mentioned, how AI cope, and how frame rate copes?
