Superb aircraft, flies well, and the quality, especially from the outside, is astounding. I'm with wipman: if you ever plan on updating this, consider a proper ejection sequence! I guess there's maybe a way of having the rotors disappear same way as they do when destroyed, and have the crew shot into the air. Seriously cracking addon though.

Do you have the Queen's Gambit expansion pack?

Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced

But in the same way Codies are using technology developed from Dirt and Grid, they can apply this to future games. -
The Rifles Armed Assault Regiment.
Daniel replied to -23rd-_2Lt_Griff's topic in ARMA - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
The Rifles GC are currently on the look out for friendly, tactical joint ops with similar tactical units. Preferably from the UK/Europe but we have played with US and Australian units in the past. We can create and host the mission, but are more than happy to play other units' missions and servers. We can also either use standard BIS units, compromise with a small addon pack with units of all parties or use our full 300MB pack. If your unit is interested, please get in touch on the Allies section of our forums! LCpl Daniel, Rifles HQ Section -

I agree with Snafu. Even though aircraft could be arguably the "worst" part of the simulation, there is a hell of a lot involved in co-op air support missions. The avionics don't need to be anywhere near flight sim quality to have fireworks and realistic results from an infantry perspective. And it's a hell of a lot more fun with a human pilot on the other end of the radio that's zeroing in on your smoke grenade. So planes would be appreciated in OFP2. -
Looking forward to these, choosing between the afor mentioned "beach bums" and battle rigged insurgents to portray civis is getting old.

There's a lot of random talk in this thread about going into other theatres and fronts. I'd suggest just sticking to one small theatre of combat from the period and making some decent units and missions for that, polish it slightly and then release it. Then consider a different area to go into. Looking good though, you chaps seem to be progressing well.

The standard ArmA GBU/LGB is laser guided in Armed Assault.

Could you alter the sat map to more closely match the grass colour? The bluey hue looks a bit odd at a distance. Great concept though.
-
Shit me that looks cool!

The AH6 also doesn't have the momentum of the AH1-Z, it can make quicker more urgent stops and turns at speed.
-
It's a shame launched smoke grenades arn't in the game by standard, but having them in addon form makes CAS much more effective. AH-6s are great for blatting infantry in the open, or for hitting into bunkered positions.

Carrier Command: Gaea Mission

I'm sure it'll be refreshing for BIS though, they've been grinding simulations for years now. Might even help with ArmA II. -
Su-25 Â Flaspoint to Arma conversion
Daniel replied to eble's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The important thing about this addon is that it fills a gap. The gap being a realistic fixed wing threat to BLUFOR ground units. From that perspective it doesn't matter whatsoever how the model or textures look, aslong as it functions properly and sounds good. Which it appears to, although i'd like to engage clusters of infantry too. Unless you want to take pictures of it... -
Su-25 Â Flaspoint to Arma conversion

Really cool to have this in game again! Finally a realistic choice to plug the gap between the Mig17 and the Su34. Is there any way to make this attack big groups of infantry instead of just cars and above? -
Ha, I think it was the Chinese official being picky by replacing the original "ugly" singing girl with a prettier miming one. Anyone see the video of that Ukranian weight lifter popping his elbow? Gotta hurt. And I liked the way the helpers sheilded his inury from the audience while the cameras replayed the accident from several angles in slow-motion...

This packs awesome! I didn't even know the AN-94 existed, that's a seriously cool gun you've made. Love the barrel recoil!
-
It really isn't. As Jinef said, a little patience helps. I'm just glad there's at least one trade in this game that demands a certain amount of skill and practice. The other of course being the converted UKF Javelins...

Bounce off a mine? And Jex, wait for ArmA2. Helicopters are not exactly ArmA's strong point, especially with regards to weapons stations and survivability. It was a bouncing betty he had in mind I think. No, he was calling for springs so that he doesn't detonate mines when he lands on them. Â Basically he's saying that the request is ridiculous because you as a helicopter pilot shouldn't be landing on fences to begin with. Â Landing on a fence logically ends with the helicopter being damaged or destroyed, as does landing on a land mine. Exactly what I was thinking. Perhaps if the topic title had read "I landed at a speed that I consider safe for a real life chopper and yet my chopper broke" I might have felt a little more sympathy. But "I landed on a fence..."?!

Perhaps the server itself doesn't always have such a great rig? As far as I know only AI controlled by the player is tied to his machine. Everything else is dependant on the server.

I find Barbuda the easiest to make tactical scenarios for. Even though it wasn't designed to be realistic and doesn't have the attention to detail that some islands do.

I'll keep an eye on this. We've got a chap in our unit who's had the same issue since patching, and he's also tried countless sky replacements.

Su-33 - OPFOR Fighter Bomber

Whoa, that vid just blew me away. That's incredible! Hopefully other air addons can incorporate similar effects in the future. Can't wait to get my hands on it now, top job Gnat! And thanks to Footmunch for allowing you to convert his awesome addon.
