    How far can you spot a cylume at distance at night?
  2. Got the same bug with the UKF UGL. The grenades don't explode instantly at any distance. Think they explode harmlessly with no effect after a long time.

    I was basically having the same error as Belgerot, having tracers appearing above and below the plane. If many other people have the same problem, a solution might be to slightly lower the rate of fire but increase the damage of each round to counter. Don't know how much effect that would have since it's scripted.

  6. Anyone else had trouble linking up machine guns when deployed as a human team? The ammo seems to almost always disappear when loaded. Doesn't happen with the Mk19.
  7. You can drag at certain angles, dragging a casualty into the back of a chinook was pretty cool. Guess it can't cope with certain gradients.

    Amazing aircaft, well made! Handles really well in ArmA for a WW2 fighter, the armament works well too. It's even nice to land, something I havn't considered in ArmA before. Got to comment on the MG though, seems to me like it's firing too many rounds for the game engine. Is the rate of fire and ammo count true to life? 6th Sense tracers would look great too.

    If you jump correctly from an ACE activated aircraft with a parachute, you'll have a "Pull Chute" option in your action menu along with a proper free fall animation.
  10. Oh, OK. I was getting worried, but it seems the forums are back to normal... Make a mod?I mean, ACE is made by US-playing gamers, so it's obvious it is US-centered because it suits their needs. Yes, download size. It doesn't bother me so much, but most units that represent a certain faction or country have their own chosen addons. When you add ACE to that with all the extra gear... It'd just be really nice to have a realistic mod that everyone feels encouraged to use without worrying about putting newcomers off. Again, just suggesting things in the hope it helps ACE becomes community standard.
  11. @subroc Agreed. I'd consider seperating a lot of the extra US SpecOp only gear from the core of ACE. Have it as a seperate "bolt-on" or "plug-in" for ACE. That'd shave a hell of a lot off the download size for players that aren't US SpecOp orientated (there's a few of us, honest! Â ).

  14. There's a game logic for enabling wind effects on helicopters. Why not one for disabling or at least removing the blackouts from the stamina effects? Fully agree with pogoman. Also someone mentioning a while back that Spec Ops soldiers had more stamina - that sounded a little, dodgy? PS. Please don't discount opinion on these sort of matters too easily, most of us only comment because we want ACE to become the community standard, and I guess while it's still beta there's a chance to please as much of the realism/tactical crowd as possible.
  15. If you've got a rucksack, select an item such as a magazine and click the "Pack" button.
  16. If you don't have a parachute you'll fall flailing your limbs. If you pick one up you'll simply have them outstretched. Pick a parachute up from the ACE Weapons crate (under Empty>Ammo). With that, and when in an ACE aircraft, you'll have a "Jump Out" option. Once out, you'll have a "Pull Rip-cord" option, pull this and control using WASD. Proceed to attempt to land in the window of a Minaret...

  18. We're all having a great time with this! Just a few bugs: We noticed you can't strip down and load up the static 50 cal. When you load ammo it links up then disappears. The Mk19 works fine. You can even stick it in an RKSL crate and ship it off to the front line! Amazing stuff. Also with the parachutes, it seems the FOV starts off way too far zoomed in. If you then press V, it fixes it, but it also jams your controls. Both bugs tested in MP with 4 people. No other XEHs or SPON addons. Does ACE alter the standard FOV at all? I usually run UNA FOV fix but it doesn't seem to be working.

    It's pretty clear only the Type 21 has been released. A suggestion: Would PRACS be able to release the 21 and 42 as static objects too? As a base of operations you don't really need the ship to move at all, as long as you can start and finish the mission on the deck safely. At the moment, troops often fall through the deck when disembarking if the vessel is placed in deep waters. I imagine this would be a lot more stable if the ship was a static object.
  20. We'd tried DeathMessages=1; and =0 in the past but i'll have another look. Good to hear it does work on some servers. Don't think there's anything wrong upstream because we can set maxPlayers.
  21. Any chance ACE could disable server death messages? So we aren't instantly aware someone's gone down, and then have to check dog tags to see who. We've tried disabling them on the server config in the past to no effect.

    Flanking goes hand in hand with suppressive fire. If the AI doesn't suppress, any attempt to flank is going to be very dicey.They should keep their units to around 4 men, so 4 attack/flank whatever while the rest put down covering fire.
  25. Rock, i'd recommend looking at the AH-1Z with TOWs in ACE. Their method works very well and has a great looking missile effect.
