I just have to include a soundbyte from that game somewhere... :p Sorry, gone offtopic again. :o

Thanks for the kind (and crazy, in some cases :p ) words, guys. You win some, you lose some, but there's always this year and Blood On The Sand. :D

12 minutes. I think that's a new record.

Congrats, everyone! :D

How much RAM does the typical ArmA player got?
Zipper5 replied to TheForumTroll's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I won't be getting my new RAM until I've upgraded my CPU, graphics card, motherboard and HDD along with it. Right now I'm looking at an i7 960, a GTX 580, and for the RAM I'm looking at Corsair. The motherboard I still have to find, along with the HDD though I'm certain I'll be getting a 1TB one. I'm also looking into SDDs for Arma 2 specifically. But yes, right now I have a Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz. Obviously not suitable for high frequency RAM, let alone DDR3. Anyway, sorry for the offtopic. :o -
Uh, it's highly unlikely that will be the case. BIS don't tend to work like that. ;)

Texture loading at times can be excruciatingly slow, as can switching back to the Arma 2 window after alt-tabbing. But I've learned to deal with it and, yes, I hope I do notice a big difference: I'm also doing a full upgrade of my PC along with new RAM. :p -

Crysis 2 PC Demo [Download link]
Zipper5 replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Due to a broken DVD drive that I've had for months, making hard copies relatively useless, I bought the Crysis Complete Pack on Steam today for $60 (Crysis, Crysis: Warhead and Crysis: Wars). Couple them with some community mods, and I realized I forgot how much I missed the game. Crysis 2's story seems a lot better, but its innovation seems way down. -
There's still 4 and a half hours left of Thursday in the Czech Republic. ;) And thanks for the compliments, guys. It means so much to even be nominated in this. :)

They're supposedly going to be sold at the same price as the current iPad: starting from $499.
-
Cross-post much? The answer I gave remains the same: And think about it: April 1st is less than a month away. Do you expect BIS to announce and release a DLC pack within such a small time-frame? Man, some people are never satisfied. :p
-
Don't get me wrong, I really like my iPhone and iPad, but these minor improvements do not justify a new, full-priced "sequel" to me. I won't buy it, but it's not like that will make any difference. :p

It's the same policy Activision has with the Call of Duty franchise. Do you see a problem with that?
-
Honestly, I'm sick of Apple's business policy. I only own an iPhone 4 and an iPad 1, and they are the last (and first) things I will buy from them for the foreseeable future.

No, it contains the BAF and PMC DLCs.

Zipper5 replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Yup, I like the game, but I won't support this constant moving away from the PC as a platform despite developers, like Crytek, starting there, simply due to reasons of greed. Games have never been made better by being made multiplatform. -
Disc version of ArmA2:CO and Steam DLC
Zipper5 replied to Shatteredciv's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
You could always use BIS' official online digital store and be guaranteed 100% compatibility. ;) Anyway, this question has been asked and answered many times. Please use the search function next time. To answer your question: No, you cannot combine the Steam DLCs with a hard copy of OA. -

In other Crysis-related news: my jaw just fell off. Edit: And in further, more important Crysis 2 news: Crysis 2 will only ship with DirectX9. I just canceled my pre-order. I was willing to overlook some slight consolefication of the game that I saw in the MP demo, but now it's clear that the PC version is literally just a console port, rather than the lead version (or only version, as was the case with Crysis). Shame what the mainstream does these days... -

This. Stop it, please. -
Hello! Please use the dedicated user video thread for any and all videos made using Arma 2. Thanks. :) In regards to the video, I'm very impressed. It was great!

You seem to be under the impression that these forums are a democracy. ;) Now, please, if you don't have any constructive criticisms to make, you've already stated your opinion so may I ask you stop littering it with further posts.

I personally quite like how it looks, though I am not expecting anyone here to like it as well. The general rule of thumb is that anyone disinterested in the mainstream video game market doesn't like bloom nor motion blur, even in the slightest cases of either. :p
