Crysis 2 PC Demo [Download link]
Zipper5 replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
The various Crysis/Crytek forums are going to explode. :p -
^This. Now, let this post be the last offtopic post here, please. :)

Your blatant disregard for the forum rules makes me want to vomit. Since your accumulated points would otherwise have resulted in a ban, I'll go easy on you and let you have a week off to decide whether or not you wish to be a part of this forum. Please stay on topic, guys. If IceBreakr wishes to add or remove anything it will be his decision. Thanks for your understanding. :)

CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."
Zipper5 replied to Undeceived's topic in OFFTOPIC
In Ben's defense, PuFu, I mostly played OFP at a horrendous max FPS of 20, and ArmA at 20 FPS while looking like this: And I still loved playing both of them. However, I can't say if I would have loved Arma 2 as much had I not been able to play it at pretty high settings from the get-go. :p -
Is there really no fix for AI stuck in "danger" mode??
Zipper5 replied to boyBlue32's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I believe the problem you are experiencing is what has been coined as "auto-Danger", and it's actually a deliberate feature, not a bug. AI will automatically enter Danger mode when they are fired on by other units, and will remain that way until all enemy units that they know of are killed, or if they're far enough away from the enemy units that they are no longer a threat. What the rest of you are talking about is the old bug where the AI were literally unable to move when they enter Danger mode. That indeed has been fixed. "Auto-Danger" is something else entirely that seems to be a permanent addition. ;) -
scar's sa6 port to ARMA2
Zipper5 replied to superrat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
hcpookie - First, if you wish to release an addon, create a new thread for it. Do not hijack someone else's. Second, before you create your new thread ensure that you have permission from the author of the original ArmA version to release your port. Do not post it here if you do not have permission. If you need to discuss this with me, please send me a PM, as this thread is not the place to do it. Thanks. -
Need help, cant install, frustrated
Zipper5 replied to Gill85's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Might sound silly to ask, but you've tried installing it multiple times, yes? Did they all come up with the same error? If so, where did you buy it from? Contact them and ask for help with the problem as, unfortunately, we here can't do anything about it. -
Crysis 2 PC Demo [Download link]
Zipper5 replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Evidently it's not okay to bash Crytek for straying from their PC roots and lies about it, but it's okay to bash every other developer who does the same. :p Personally I'm waiting for this patch that is now also supposed to add a proper graphics options menu to the game on top of DX11 support. If that's how it turns out, I'll finally fork over the cash for Crysis 2. Hopefully they'll get rid of that stupid Press Start/Enter screen... Edit: And then I read this. If it doesn't come, pretty simple - they won't get my money. ;) -
CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."
Zipper5 replied to Undeceived's topic in OFFTOPIC
They don't work because not enough people support them. If the overwhelming majority of their projected consumer base were to boycott, then it would have an effect. Organizing such a thing is near impossible, that's the main problem. -

It might not be how it is, but that's because we've let it not be that way. No one understands the concept of voting with their wallets anymore. It should be how it is. -

Yes, it came to this: Edit: Ninja'd by paragraphic l. :p As PuFu says, please try to read up on what has already been discovered. ;) -

Use the search tool and you'll surely find them. ;) As I said, really old news. -
BI Developer's Blog: An interesting new entry
Zipper5 replied to Undeceived's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
And thus, we go full circle. :D Guys, those pictures are really old. Some look like hints to future additions to the game, such as that picture looking like an extended, summer-time Chernarus. All the others have been posted, debated about and explained in the past. ;) -
Crysis 2 PC Demo [Download link]
Zipper5 replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Okay, I am a bit worried that the point of that article was lost somewhere, so I'll make sure it's totally clear - the guy's trolling. For example, if you missed the fact that mostly everything else in the article was made up, DX12 doesn't even exist. :p -
Confusion regarding the "Reinforcements" DVD rom
Zipper5 replied to stefos71's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Unless more have been added specifically for Reinforcements, you will at least be getting two campaigns, Operation Crimson Lance (BAF) & Operation Black Gauntlet (PMC), as well as 9 SP missions and 1 showcase from BAF, and 3 SP missions and 1 showcase from PMC. ;) -
Crysis 2 PC Demo [Download link]
Zipper5 replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
See my spoiler in my previous post. It's related to that article. I agree that Crysis 2 is the better game in terms of gameplay & story, but in terms of the one thing that set Crysis apart from other games at the time, the fact that it was a technological benchmark, is no longer the case. I personally think it was a huge mistake to drop what made the first game unique in favor of other things that won't necessarily make it as or more popular these days. Plus, I have a hard time forgiving people for touting their game to be a PC game, when the release rolls around and it is literally a console port until a patch is released. -
CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."
Zipper5 replied to Undeceived's topic in OFFTOPIC
The more I look at it, the more I doubt it. The extreme negative press from PC gamers had no impact on Modern Warfare 2's sales. CM are marketing towards the silent majority and, unfortunately, that's where you'll find all the buy-a-game-beat-it-in-5-hours-wait-for-next-game "gamers". -

Zipper5 replied to ron533's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hey! That was back when I was brand new to video making. :( Nah, I should really look at making a 2.0 of that some time. One that doesn't suck. :p -

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/29/crysis-2-technical-analysis A pretty interesting analysis of the graphical compromises Crytek made with Crysis 2 thanks to taking it multiplatform. -

To be honest he's convincing a lot more people than we are that Red River is the piece of crap it will turn out to be. How he does it, well, I'm not too worried about that, it still achieves the same endgame. :D -
I feel like we're back in 2007 again when CryEngine 2 was all the rage. :D

vUuV5d-vr3g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUuV5d-vr3g&NR=1 A member of the general public actually knows what's going on! Although, he doesn't seem to know the developer-related issue. The MMO part made me cringe a bit too... But he's at least getting the overall message out there. -
I "talked smack" with you because I actually have first hand experience that goes against everything you claimed in regards to Al Jazeera. I don't care about anything else you posted because I can't 100% deny or prove any of it. I'm simply trying to keep what are lies and what is the truth in perspective, at least in regards to what you said about Al Jazeera. In regards to this it is no longer my opinion, because I have acquaintances who work there and have personally dealt with them in the past. It is fact, and it goes against your opinion. That, or I've unknowingly aided British Intelligence. :p Perhaps I came off more aggressive than I was actually feeling, and for that I apologize. Anyway, this thread is not about the credibilty of X media source or Y person, it is about the events in Libya. Please get it back on track before it gets out of control. I don't know if you noticed, but this whole thread has become one giant flamebait.
