We're working on it. Please bear with us. Also, there is already a thread on this in the offtopic section. You can find it here. Thread locked.

Big thank you to the men and women who've been working tirelessly for the past decade to finally bring this man animal to justice. :)

CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."

I think it's a nice & needed contrast to all the forums, threads & posts saying RR is anything better than crap. ;) -
My current PC was built to run ArmA at full settings, my up-coming PC will be built to run Arma 2 and TOH at full settings. ;) Takes lots of research and sifting through troubleshooting threads for me to determine which parts or makes to buy and which to stay away from. Anyways, locked as requested.

06vB-34S5-c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06vB-34S5-c Look at the first 40 seconds of that video. Guy decides he's going to try and rush it to the other side of the bridge with his team covering him, and he isn't being shot at. No, instead, the game kills him for "going off mission"! How can anyone call this a good game with crap like that? Even DR didn't do that! The good scores must have come from people entirely used to playing corridor FPS and in the mindset that these missions were designed for. Not the OFP mindset, or even the DR mindset! -
The link I posted is the latest version of DirectX 9, released in June 2010. ;)
-
Ah, okay. That's because Windows XP only supports up to DirectX 9, and that download is for DirectX 11. In that case, download & install this instead.
-
Download the latest version of DirectX, which you can find here, and install it. That will solve those problems. :)

I get annoyed just looking at the blatantly fanboyish responses you were getting in your thread over there, Phill. Sure, we have our fair share of fanboys, I would consider myself one too at times, but I like to think we never stoop to that level. I can only imagine your blood pressure when reading them! They're writing off some of the most credible review publications and websites around simply because they gave Red River a bad score. I felt Tiscali gave Arma 2 an unfairly low score, but it doesn't mean I discredit them entirely. I'd like to think most people here act the same. Heck, I think most reviews for BIS' games aren't delving into the true magic of them before they write their reviews, although I do not expect nor demand them to carry out that task as it can take quite a lot of time and effort. -
Grass layer not the best solution?
Zipper5 replied to Chunk3ym4n's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Jesus, a flaw such as this (which I've honestly not noticed until you pointed it out, and I've been playing Arma 2 since release) does not stop this from game from being realistic nor a simulator. Have you reported this to the CIT? If not, go do so. If you have, good, all you have to do is wait for it to be fixed (if it can be). -

Can't reload prior saves "deleted" messages...?
Zipper5 replied to Kyle_K_ski's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
That first error means you're either missing an addon, or that addon is causing that error to appear. The reason it still shows the error about said missing addon is because addon dependencies are written into the save game files to ensure that when you load the save game, things will not break. I believe the addon you're looking for in this case is vilas' Russian Weapons pack. The second error is from you installing GL4 without copying the userconfig folder included with it into your Arma 2 directory. Questions regarding your Arma 2 launcher should be asked in its respective thread on these forums. If it's Alpinestars', as I understand it to be, you'll find the thread for it here. If not, then use the search function to locate it. -
Not everyone is interested in anarchy, unlike conspiracy theorists such as yourself. Dosenmais, I strongly suggest you stop being so paranoid. Surely it's not a healthy way to live. Why would you, out of 6 billion people on this globe, be the next person to be "murderd by german aristocrates on the top of both sides" as you put it? Besides, the Royal Wedding has now passed and rather than this thread going completely in the direction of a discussion for and against conspiracies surrounding it, it no longer needs to remain open. Thread locked.

We didn't close it because, for some reason, no one uses the report post function anymore. I don't know why. ;) Anyways, welcome to the forums, Itmibitmi. Don't worry, you haven't broken any rules, we just don't allow "hello" threads here. Just get stuck into the discussions! :D Thread locked.

Very nicely-written review! Will have to bookmark your website to see future ones. :) However, nettrucker is right; there is already a dedicated and rather extensive Red River thread in our offtopic section. Please use that for everything and anything regarding it. Thanks! Thread locked. -
Died by the hands of the British? Were your family members German soldiers? I've had no immediate relatives die in the World Wars, but a few of them fought in them.

Convince Friends to Play Arma. Which videos do it best?
Zipper5 replied to weaponsfree's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
"The Nazis are the enemy!" said over top of video of what is clearly footage of a modern war scenario. I think that video might confuse people more than convince them to play it! :p -
Hm, I took your comment as them wearing what you thought to be an Islamic dress in a Protestant Church whilst attending a Protestant wedding. My mistake. Surely it gets boring or depressing being so full of hate for no reason, yes?
-
The male Arab dress, technically called a Thobe, is not an outfit based in their religion but in their culture. It's extremely light and breathes very well, therefore it's perfect for the Arab climate. That's really all there is to it.

Bought ARMA2CO on Amazon, its in English, want it in Spanish
Zipper5 replied to matcarfer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
From the menu, select Options -> Game Options and then use the left and right arrows next to Language to change it to Spanish. At least, that's how it is in my game. -

Snipers being wrongly "calibrated"... ... Breaks the game for you. All you do is snipe? -
[Answered] Giving Arma 2 a second try, and got disappointed... again
Zipper5 replied to Cornstar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Funny you say that njmatrix, I must have been imagining playing Arma 2 mostly without issue when it was launched. In fact, this was the only "issue" I ran into that early on: MkCcgZw0HOs Most PC games these days have issues one way or another with ATI cards, and that's typically down to how terribly AMD make the drivers for them. -
A view of ArmA II multiplayer from a TF2, CSS, BF2 player
Zipper5 replied to Cookieeater's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
He never referenced who "you" was in his post, so I presumed he meant the OP. To me it seems more like people are more annoyed with how often, and how, the mission is played. They don't actually seem to have a dislike for Xeno and/or his work. -
Yes, let's all go back ~500 years to prove that this marriage is intermarriage.
