    ArmA2 - The Xbox 360 thread

Thankfully, BIS games have always been PC first, console second. It is unknown whether or not BIS are making a console version of either ArmA II or OA, and I find it highly unlikely that they will be released given the lack of a market on the consoles for such games. As found with Dragon Rising, most of them would rather play MW2 or BFBC2, and went on to do so when it went down the toilet. I doubt you'll see any news about ArmA II or OA coming to the consoles until it's long after they've been released for the PC. One thing is for certain, however. You will always get BIS' games on the PC. :D

    Dragon Rising has been released

No, no new updates for DR have been released for the PC. Apparently, the DLC that came with the consoles already will be included in the second patch for DR. I wonder if it'll ever see the light of day. One thing's for sure - if they release the second patch, it'll be the last one for DR.

    ArmA2 - The Xbox 360 thread

Good to see BIS beats CM in more ways than one. :D

    Dragon Rising has been released

I read the thread. I never thought you were making money off of it, I was angry because you were offering to give CM more money for your work just to squeeze more money out of those who have already been suckered into buying the DLC. They don't deserve to make more money off the game, which they inevitably would if they brought your mission to the consoles. You're simply pro-longing their ability to get more money from their customers for an exceedingly unworthy product. It's a ripoff. And yes, I agree with Myke 100%.

    Zipper5's Missions

Since I haven't given an update on my progress for a little while, I thought that it's time I tell you what's been going on. Progress on the next mission has been going great, and it should be finished soon. However, I believe the next update will include two new missions instead of one, and will have more fixes to the previous ones. In the mean time, here's a trailer I made for the next mission in the campaign. Enjoy: tRRQ66KR_v0 It may take a while to process, but should be in full HD 720p quality when it does. ;)

    Dragon Rising has been released

For those of you who had asked for it, I have now posted the video I recorded explaining how I control AI squad mates in ArmA II. You can find it here.
  7. Well, after much hassle with uploads and such, I can finally present you the video on how to command AI squad mates. It's broken into five 6 minute parts. I hope you enjoy them. DFqEgq64oss AO7CLcm9GnY -ne8FCRtSpY K4-6ixluQBQ BylNWfUz65w

    Dragon Rising has been released

And you still did it anyways? I think the only reason that you haven't received more than 1 infraction already is because the mods are not wanting to bother with this thread at the moment, and I guess that's for good reason. You're even admitting to deliberately trolling. That would get you shadow-banned on the "other" forum.

    Dragon Rising has been released

I do like posts like these. Someone will recognize it: *Cough* And yes, people really do live in a box if they think DR is GOTY-able. Then again, there are people calling it revolutionary... :butbut:
  10. No, I wouldn't go around saying it if I hadn't heard it before. Be my guest to search for it as it was quite a while ago, before ArmA II's release even. It has been mentioned before, but there's never been any official word on whether it's true or not. I doubt it is, ArmA II has been a great success for BIS.

    ArmA2 - The Xbox 360 thread

The hell? You want them to concentrate on bringing OFP: Elite over to the 360 (while ArmA II and OA are definitely in need of a lot of TLC) where they'll undoubtedly make much less return on their efforts than they would if they kept working on OA? What games are you talking about? The last time I recall anything official being stated about a console release was way back before ArmA II was released, and even then it was a very "Eh... Well, it may come on to next gen consoles" response. Take this thread for example. There are very few people actually in the same state of mind as you are. BIS is not going to make money off a 360 game if so little people are going to buy and play it. And frankly, I'm not looking forward to attracting the same people that got attracted to that "other" game when it was released on consoles. But again, you'd know about that. :j:

Well its official. HOLD is dead

Many Americans play in Charlie Foxtrot, which is a huge PvP community that play large, competitive maps every Sunday, sometimes with close to 100 players in total. We had 128 players in ArmA, and I believe we still hold the record for the most players on a server in BIS' games. Check it out if you need a PvP fix.
  13. It has been mentioned in the past, though I can't recall where, that Operation Arrowhead could possibly be BIS' last addition to the military simulator genre. Who could blame them after 9 years of doing only that?

    Music Recommendations

For some reason I'm finding myself listening to all the old Airut songs from the FDF mod in OFP. They kickass! Even if I don't understand a word they're saying...
  15. Yes, I too play MW2 quite often, and I too am starting to get annoyed at the matchmaking. It was ok to deal with when it launched, but then a patch was released that made it go through each ping between 50ms to 150ms in 10ms increments, and now it's getting ridiculously annoying to get into games. Especially when you have to wait until it gets to 150ms only to have it say "Could not connect to host" and makes you start all over again...

    FDF Podagorsk

Maldevic looked like it was always in autumn, if I recall correctly. I love the autumn look, especially on Podagorsk. Frankly, I hated ArmA's shiny, glass-like vegetation. :butbut: Edit: Yes, Maldevic was always in autumn.
  17. It's still quite impressive. You'd think everyone would be out in force voting for MW2 given it's popularity.
  18. Dude, do you have any idea how old that card is? It wasn't even the best card available when it came out in 2007. And now you expect it to run a game that was released in 2009? My GTX 280 gives me an average of 40 to 60 FPS. I can't see how an 8800 GTS will be able to do anything close to that. You need a new card if you want better performance.

Custom face textures in ArmA 2?

If I recall correctly, that's an issue with how ATI cards deal with .jpg files. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it unless you change your card. Been like that since ArmA I believe.
  20. Usually you have a Function key, usually shown just as Fn. Locate the key which has a minus sign above it (it was P on my old laptop) and hold Left Shift in conjunction with the Fn and P key. No console appears, you just type the letters for the cheat and it will work.
  21. Yes, well, the sounds in DR are terrible, in my opinion. They might or might not be realistic, but they do not sound good to me. Sometimes you need a bit of Hollywood. Now MW2 - that game has amazing sound effects. Try playing in 5.1 surround sound, it will blow your mind.

    Dragon Rising has been released

Perhaps, but we've all seen just how utterly terrible it is. You can't put every vehicle in the game on the map at the same time. It's ridiculous. And they kept talking about "unrivaled streaming technology". And then, of course, you have ...
  23. VBS2 has very, very good sounds from what I've seen in the few videos released of it. But again, there's always this idea that BIS should be including stuff that they have in VBS2 in their commercial games, including ArmA II. Look at the price difference. There's a substantial reason that you don't get stuff from VBS2 in BIS' games.
  24. Well, to be honest, it doesn't surprise me in the least that DICE would do this. I knew very early on that DICE couldn't really care less about their PC audience, they just wanted to attract more potential sales from them by saying that they do, after IW's mistakes with MW2. Now the rest of the world is starting to see what exactly is going on, and what has been going on. DICE care more about their console market than their PC market as consoles = $$$, just like every other multiplatform developer for the most part.

    Shoot and sit

Perhaps we will get a feature like this in Operation Arrowhead, or any further games/expansions that BIS make. OA has already got a few features from VBS2, and VBS2 also has the ability to shoot from inside vehicles. However, there's a reason that there's such a massive price difference between the two products. ;)
