    Best orders for combat missions?

Maybe my How to Command AI Squads videos will help you out here. That's how I play the game, and how I have always played the game since OFP. ;)

Why is this game not more popular?

That is BIS' offices just outside of Prague, is it not? BIA is based in Australia. ;) I'm all for attracting new blood, I just talked to someone playing Modern Warfare 2, of all the places, about how he hated Dragon Rising and how he didn't know about ArmA II (he thought DR was OFP's sequel, as usual...). Long story short, he's going to check out ArmA II now. I am not for attracting people who will come on and start making posts about awesome kills they made, or hacks they've made, or hackers they found, or scoreboard comparisons, etc. which is common with most "gamers" today. If you are a simulator fan you should be used to simulators coming out with hiccups, and that most of them get patched. If you aren't, well, then you haven't played many simulators. And how exactly is ArmA II not accurately simulating infantry combat? Jesus, this community is getting incredibly anal...

Hm, this is starting to get out of hand... I feel W0lle preparing his banhammer. :p

Why is this game not more popular?

BIA don't seem to have their own MOCAP studios, or, at least, don't seem to use them since most of the normal animations in VBS2 are the same as ArmA's. They might be the same company but it makes every bit of sense for said company to put the majority of it's funding into a popular $1000 military training simulator, than a $40 commercial game. I don't like it, but I understand it. I don't hate the stuff that BIS are doing. Why else would I be playing their games still? I don't mind the sloppiness at the start because I know BIS will make every effort to fix it in the coming years. Nothing else does what BIS' games do, which is what allows me to be incredibly patient with them. On the other hand, you can find $3 burgers in many different places.

Guys, chill out. It's called campaigning. They knew what they wanted to vote for, and they asked others to vote for it as well. There just happened to be the majority of them. That's democracy. We do the same when ArmA II is nominated for an award, or any of BIS' games for that matter. It's no different.

I see no reason why BIS should be embarrassed. They were for ArmA and ArmA II community made content, so having an ArmA campaign win is ok. They just need to fix the typo blunder saying it's for ArmA II. It's also the community awards, and if the community chooses to spam vote, then that is fine, as it's members of the community. Everyone has their own opinion of who should have won, and it's nice to see that the things I voted for either won or were in the top 5. To be honest, the most rewarding thing for a content maker should be the fact that people like and use their product, not an award. Though, I won't deny that getting an award always helps.
  7. @Andrews - I don't know if it was intentional, a funny little play-on-words since the group is called Operation Reality, but it's spelled realities, not realitys. :p Cool video nonetheless.

Why is this game not more popular?

Of course not, it's not flawless either though. But once again, VBS2 is made by Bohemia Interactive Australia (BIA), and I'm sure that most of the funds that Bohemia Interactive have go to BIA and the development of VBS2, rather than to BIS and the development of ArmA II. Therefore, BIA has more funds to make sure that VBS2 is as bug-free as possible. This is probably not the case with BIS and ArmA II. VBS2 simply has a much greater return of investment.

Why is this game not more popular?

Sure, we could wait for BIS to be making better PvP missions, but we have almost the exact same tools they do, so why aren't we? The community produces 1000x more than what is included in BIS' games, but it is our choice that these are not PvP missions, and that we don't play ones that are. If BIS were to start forcing people to play PvP missions, that would break the spirit of their games - you can do whatever your heart desires. It's just unfortunate that most seem to desire the same mods and missions over and over and over again. But if you want better PvP missions - make your own, get your own server and watch the numbers grow. It's all up to you in BIS' games which, frankly, is what makes them so great. That goes the same for the so-called "veterans" wanting to play in their own groups in locked servers - it's their choice. Many more people would be disgruntled if BIS were to force people into things than there would be with them not doing so. That's a well-established fact. I guess someone can't simply disagree with you then...
  11. Not to be confused with that "other game". But yes, it is simply a marketing slogan. If you want the ultimate military simulator, buy VBS2.

    Zipper5's Missions

There are two sides to every story...
  13. Might want to consider removing the quoted images...
  14. Yes, the sound issues are definitely still there, they just take much more frequent and louder noises to occur. It's odd how this occurs in ArmA II but never occurred for me in ArmA. (In OFP I had a very shitty soundcard that caused many issues, so I can't talk about that.)
  15. Most likely, unless BIS can somehow get out of the publishing contract agreement.
  16. Does it work with Russian units, though? These units are based mostly off the same models as the default Russians. Try the same test with them and see if it too comes up black instead of transparent.
  17. I think most threads are going to get at least one post like that in them now, richie. :p [OFFTOPIC] I believe it's spelled "laid" too, not "layed". :D [/OFFTOPIC]
  18. Christ, someone needs a time out... How in any way, shape or form can the RPG18 be more powerful than the M136 if it is obvious from the configs that it is not? You cannot have a bug with config values, only if you've put the wrong ones in, which is not the case here. The M136 is stronger than the RPG18 in the game, as it should be. Period. If you really want to take it to the next level I will be happy to make a video proving you wrong and post it here.
  19. Yes, well, that should need no explanation, but since the internet seems to have deemed Crysis the universal benchmark, it does. Essentially, Crysis is scripted with some elements of dynamic gameplay that occurs in relatively small, detailed places with pretty graphics. ArmA II on the other hand is 90% dynamic, with a huge map that is always being rendered and streamed, and has much more realistic-looking graphics. Those are just a few reasons as to why ArmA II is a much more demanding game than Crysis.

    Cutting screen

What exactly do you mean by cutting screen? If you mean FPS, then you should look at upgrading your graphics card. It's pretty sub-par for running a game like ArmA II at higher settings.
  21. Eugh, what's with the incredibly crappy video stream? I can't watch passed the intro. The video stalls but the audio keeps going. Anyone able to provide an alternative?

    Dragon Rising has been released

Can't argue with that, to be honest... :butbut:

    Dragon Rising has been released

I think he's doing this simply because being a "fan" of Dragon Rising one has to question your competence, heh. :p Kidding, of course.

Probably an issue with your target line. Make sure that it's how it should be.

    Dragon Rising has been released

I believe so. Just like they hold the rights to the name Operation Flashpoint. :j:
