Because why let stubbornness get in the way of playing with the latest version of the game? The bugs reported have since been fixed and I haven't noticed any others.

Dude, why not try it? It's not like it's going to break your mission! The engine in SP looks for a briefing.html file still to determine if it needs to show the briefing at mission start or not. Without it, it won't show the briefing, no matter if it just contains debriefing stuff. In MP, the engine shows the briefing at the start no matter if there's a briefing or not.

...\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\Campaigns\redhammer.pbo ...\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\Addons\VoiceRH.pbo Those are the two files you need to get Red Hammer content in CWA. I put them in a mod folder called @RedHammer and ran it as a mod for CWA. Works perfectly.

Yup, I can confirm that problem too.

I believe that's because DXDLL injects via a DirectX file into OFP/CWA and Steam overlay does the same.

The new generation of gamers seem to feel as though their favorite FPS, be it COD or BF, always has to be at war with either each other, or different, completely unrelated games. It is unbelievably stupid, but it's true. We just have to deal with it.

Not having 100 AI enemies would be a good place to start.

The campaign is only for Combined Operations. That will be the source of your problems. If you have both, you should be able to right click your Operation Arrowhead entry in your Steam games menu and select "Start ARMA 2: Combined Operations", or something to that effect. A new version is coming soon, so keep your eyes open. :cool:

Every time I restart the game my difficulty setting in the mission editor reverts to Veteran, and I have to play a mission on Cadet for it to go back. I play on Cadet because it allows you to change all the difficulty settings to your liking. Edit: Scratch that, issue is in OFP 1.96 too. :p

Oh yee who did not play OFP... In OFP and now CWA, user profile data is stored within the root installation folder rather than anywhere else. So in this case, you'll find your user profile data under: ...\Bohemia Interactive\Arma Cold War Assault\Users

I cringe every time a reviewer uses the term "realism" when doing a review of Call of Duty. It does happen!

It's not a patch, it's standalone. It installs to a different directory and has a different exe. So no, you are not able to play on 1.96 servers.

Just dug up these old relics to give a friend of mine my original OFP:CWC CD key so that he could use ARMA: Cold War Assault: The manual on the right is from my 2001 purchase of OFP:CWC and that is the Prima Strategy Guide on the left that came in my copy of OFP: Gold Upgrade. Sadly, it has lost its front and back cover and, surprisingly, my OFP:CWC manual's cover is in decent condition for being 10 years old. :D
