I would like to see a new Demo of Arma2. Tried the current one on my highend system but only got 25 FPS and a lot of lag after playing around 30 minutes. With these experiences I decided not to buy Arma2 so far but I would like to give it another try when an updated version of the demo is released.

Good news and I do hope (with a lot of other people) that there will be a, hugh, performance boost. There's one thing I'm also hoping for, when this performance boost is actualy realised, I hope an update demo will be made. The reason I ask this is because I've only seen the current demo, which isn't that good on my machine, but that one can't be patched so there's nothing to compare for me.

Very nice review. Sad to see the 4870X2 performing so modestly while being a highend card.

I have an ATI 4870X2 (see futher specs in my sig) and only tested with the demo. With everything on high I got only 25 FPS and a lot of lag after about 30 minutes of play. I found it very dissapointing on such a highend system and haven't bought the full version of Arma2 so far.

I like the demo but after about 30 minutes the performance drops heavily making the game lag so much. I can't see my hardware being the problem so this must be related to the demo. After running the calibration tool it gives me 25 FPS which is enough for a game like this but since my hardware is above average, it would be nice to get a little better result. Maybe this will come when the game will be optimised by patches. The only thing I'm finding weird is the fact that I had to install DX9 to get the game running, while I'm already on Windows 7 with DX11 included. I'm not sure I will buy the full version because of those performance issues.
