Where in the hell did ya get that information?  There is no way on earth that an OICW can replace an anti-tank weapon or a squad or platoon level belt-fed machine gun designed for suppressive fire.  For one thing a 20mm round, while fine for destroying lightly armored APC's, would barely scratch the paint on even a T-55 tank as the rounds are dependent on their warheads to penetrate armor, and not on velocity like the Bradley M2's 25mm Depleted Uranium rounds which are high velocity AT rounds.  While the 20mm rounds are good for a certain amount of suppressive fire, they are not good for close quarters where shrapnel from the rounds can injure or kill friendly soldiers.  Also, due to the limited magazine capacity of  both the 20mm and 5.56mm sections of the OICW, it can not do sustained fire like a belt-fed machine gun that has gun barrels that can be switched out (like the M249 SAW, M240 FNMAG, and M60 machine guns).  What it will replace however is the M203 system currently used by the US Army.  There is no doubt that having a hand held, clip fed 20mm autocannon with air-burst capable rounds is a vastly superior weapon system.  The drawback however is that soldiers will likely be firing ALOT of 20mm ammunition rather then using the 5.56mm section of the weapon.  In every computer FPS shooter with an OICW, time and time again, players use the OICW's 20mm rounds most of the time.   So due to the shear expense, of both the rounds and the rifle, I don't think they'll be issuing the OICW to alot of troops any time soon other then a few special operations units.  When it does go into mainstream Army and Marine units, it'll likely only be as a squad level replacement for the M203.  Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> I know I read this somewhere and I am trying to find the original post where I got it from.  Then again the poster of the original information might be wrong. ::edit:: I knew I read something, but it appears I remembered it wrong. Avonlady the OICW is expected to replace the machine gunner and the anti tank rocket launcher and the m203 in stardard army squads. It is supposed to be THAT good.

It looks cool yes, but how can we use it? Its a static defense or assult weapon which can only fire directly in front. Well I guess its up to the mission makers to find a cool way to use it -
Yours Vixer? Or what teams? Thats looking good. The more the merrier, just hope all the makers talk with each other so they are somewhat ballanced and will engage each other well.

Bratty that post just made my day hehe. Glad to see you guys working togeather to get these great addons out to us! Just don't forget to add some AA to those carriers! Oh yea and steal Trenchfeets (Or actually Bull's Eye on my Back's) multi gun script for the corsair when you can

You do realize this is an old beta, and he posted an update in his corsair thread. But he has not released and probly will not release a new beta to the public for awhile (he has to get some stuff done first) and his primary beta tester is Too Tall I think

Well with all these nice aircraft now, and Bratty's carrier, we need some ships with AA, I took the falklands carrier and added M-2's to the deck to simulate it so far for myself. But it's just not the same Now that we have the cool planes, we wanna shot em down! LOL. And is it possible to have a flakgun where you could set the shells to explode at a set hight at low yeild?

Well its a good first addon for Sine Pari. It shows off their work and puts it against things allready out there. Hopefully with future releases to the Flashpoint community they will try for things that haven't been done yet. Or release things that we haven't seen since before 02. And hopefully they will continue your addons Klink. We still need those subs!!! Hope to see more from this team. What other games are they planing to model for? (Yes I realize this is a business) And do they have any work yet?

Grabbing it now will put up review soon. ::edit:: And for a first view/glance review. This plane is sexy!!!!!!!!! Only problem I can see at a first glance is the aiming reticule seems to be off center. Is it supposed to be like that? Its aiming somewhere other then where the flashpoint dot is aiming.

Bratty a problem I'm come across with the corsair is when you fire at night you loose all visability because of the gun fire flash in front of the cockpit. Could you see if that can be fixed.
