  1. ... the gmaeplay is being dumbed down in order to optimize it for console play.

No game released on PC should have that happen ...

Explain 'The Sims' to me ... does 'The Sims' says anything on ArmA (although they both run on the same platform)

'Dumbed down' refers to a product, NOT a platform

The only thing which i image to be different on 360/ps3 is a possible mission editor (because it should accomodate the gamers using their std controller) ... and scripting/modding of course (that may stay a pc exclusive)

True. I hope it works well.

  2. Marek spanel in an interview (minute 1:24) "...so in ArmA 2 it's possible to revive the character within a certain while...".

Is that for real!? will the game just turned out to be unrealistic, lacking the fear of death that made the gameplay experience in Operation Flashpoint so immersed? Can we receive an official confirmation on this? (Please say this is not true...)

Well it may not be realistic but maybe they could "Revive" you once and then you're gone for good. Let's say you're in an urban situation, tangos are down the road and team 1 provides suppressing fire for team 2 to flank. One of their men is hit and smoke grenades are popped to drag him behind cover to save him.

  3. Great finds guys. Also, I would give OFP a review of 10/10. Why? Gameplay(Realistic/Tactical) Graphics(May not be too flashy but give it a depressing feel) Sound?(Pretty good but needs some work) Replay value?(Endless)

  4. If they're gonna let Arma 2 run on the 360 then it'll have to have lower minimum requirements than ArmA 1...  unless some of the xbox optimizations from OFP:E in the engine carry over to the 360.  Otherwise, it seems more likely to me that it'll be on PS3 than on the 360.  Unless they yank the view distance down, or the texture quality, or who-knows-what-else.

I still think it's interesting that the depth of field postprocessing works better in OFP:E on my xbox than on my PC in ArmA with 5x the computing power ;p

[that's not fair, the latest patches for arma have allowed me to turn it back up, but still ;p]

I disagree. Call of duty 4 seems to have much better graphics so that proves the 360 can handle ArmA 2 in all it's greatness.

  5. What site are you talking about? If they said next-gen consoles of 08 they obviously meant the Xbox360/PS3/Wii because there aren't going to be any new consoles in the next year or two, at least.

As far as the Xbox360/PS3/Wii go, I don't think BIS specified what consoles exactly. I'd guess that it's a definint no for the Wii, a maybe for the PS3, and a probably for the Xbox360.

Apologies, I was just double checking as it's a habit I get criticised for.

  6. I was stuck on a game that has nothing to do with FP... It was America's Army. I got bored of that game 2 weeks after I wasted 70$ to buying that horrible thing.

    Anyone want it?  icon_rolleyes.gif

My hardest mission was one I made today called Blackhawkdown 2, based on the movie. I will show you guys it if you're willing to play.

  7. Boos Boy, if it says -1 player that means the game is unplayable. I'd say 60% of the OFP PC games transfered onto action replay don't work. Since we can't delete our saves once it has been uploaded it has become a total mess.

Tango, why do you always leave the game when I straighten things out?

  8. Next couple of weeks I'm available during the day and evenings. Did you get your mike fixed?

I have two 360 mics that are not compatible with xbox 1. Also you will never guess but I used to play with you. A year ago I did.

  9. Warfighter/Pigeon, I played with you a couple of times this weekend. Now since you are on my friends list you can join my missions anytime you want. I have over 100 missions maybe 150?

I have many team matches but I rarely host them anymore due to immature players, frustrated people or lack of players...Since you can't ban anyone I won't spend my time kicking dumb players endlessly.

My Missions server is always locked and friends can access my room by viewing their friends list.

Tango, just call me Warfighter.  I hate this pigeon name.  I miss my old tag.  Hey, sunday does sound good.  I am hosting an operation kill guba right now.  Game is locked and loaded lol. That was a pretty good game. I will play with you later tango. I ruined a life game and now this kid always teamkills me when he joins. Deadman walkin is a douche. Gnarkill, he boots me for nothing soem times too.

  10. I'll add you to my friends list no problem. Be aware me and my buddy are french. I speak english but my buddy doesn't speak a word of it.

Tango, I booted your pal because he was foreign. Then I heard you speaking in foreign tounge and I realised my mistake. Evac was good too we just had to get off everon alive.

  11. I agree on this. After reading most previews and watching a lot of WIP footage I get the impression that they're trying to make it sound like ArmA II will be the first game ever where bullets will penetrate through walls or that it's the first game ever with 20+ vehicles etc etc... Might have worked back in 2004 though.

So far I've seen nothing 'next gen' in ArmA II (remember what they called it before they changed the name to ArmA II?).

Ok, maybe they just dropped the plans on making a next generation game wink_o.gif

Call of duty 4 and splinter cell I believe had wall piercing bullets. It made cover in COD 4 very tough to find because perks like deep impact would pierce an M1A2 and kill the person hiding behind the tank.

  12. There is always a needed to make improvements to games, nothing is perfect ever. Its true that to many people the game engine looks so much of ArmA but u cant say anything about its features from few screenshots and videos.

I will be able to play the flashpoint sequel on my 360 so yes it is perfect for me and my clan.
