    New ARMA2 OA Beta Patch 72418 Available!

    Hello everyone I admit I am posting here before having installed the beta (at work for the moment), but I am curious if anyone who had previous micro-stutter problems with OA have noticed any difference with this beta. Nobody seems to have posted any concerns regarding this, so I am curious if it's something still being experience by some users. Basically a good FPS constantly interrupted by bouts of micro-stutters. This thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101124&page=27 had a few tips, but they don't seem to solve the issue, and it does not seem to have a "Ah! beta X, or Nvidia driver Y solves the stuttering" Just curious if this is something that is being addressed, or if it's only a handful of users getting this issue. Thanks! My specs in case: AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3,1 GHz OCZ 2GB DDR2 II in Dual Channel mode EVGA GTX 470 Windows 7 64 *EDIT* : Apologies. A new Nvidia patch did indeed fix this issue. I had not checked recently. Finally enjoying AO as intended

    Hey RobertHammer Any chance there will be a vanilla Arma2 release? Am I being ignint in thinking that this release won't work on A2 vanilla? In any case, thanks for your various RH packs, many missions of mine have one of your rifles.

    Thanks for the excellent island Goeth. It is the only island I took a pleasure in driving around in just for the scenery. Every frame, every inch of the map feels like a real world location. It's a shame that you won't be building more in the future. Cheers!

    Great! Looking forward to trying the latest version this evening. I am wondering if the CBA and INKO are required for all addons? Any chance the mod can be made standalone? Looking forward to seeing the return of the vehicle and the sweet lookin LAV.
  8. Beautiful! My first ever OFP mission was made on Malden. I still remember every part of the mission and intend to do a remake. I agree keeping the old buildings is fine to keep old missions compatible with it. However perhaps an update in the trees would be nice to have some nicer horizons? I see the grass is around so otherwise can't wait!

    Very cool new version. The sniper teams are great to have popping up. After hiding in some bushes waiting for a tank to roll past. I got up and tried again to move toward the randomized objective, only to find two enemy squads moving towards me. As I dug in to try and thin them down, the mighty 50 cal sounded off at a distance, and I could see some of my targets drop before I could fire. After the squads were destroyed, I tracked down the sniper team, had them join, and kept trying to move towards the objective. Some technical eventually got us later on, but great action on the fly. Thanks again!

    Thanks for a fresh version thombsonb! Will try it out this evening on Utes. Should be interesting to have it on an more open space type map, see the battles unfolding. Is there a risk that a player might see a squad spawn if you're in a position with a good FOV? Also, an MP version is still something that would be muy appreciated! Right now I can do some MP with friends by adding a "playable" character in your mission via the editor, but the side/unit selection is random for all players, so coop is still elusive. Thanks again for the sweet mission.

    Very cool, thanks thomsonb! The objective marker/mission ending seems very cool and I will be trying it out shortly. I opened up your mission in the editor (hope you don't mind) and added a fixed marine firebase around the middle of the map. To date it's been fun as an objective to reach, but once you reach it, the mission is basically over as the battle tends to be fought just outside the base perimeter. Although in one instance a pretty devastating enemy aircraft attack made for interesting defensive moments. Still hoping for a coop version, but I certainly understand it requires a lot of work on your part. Meanwhile the randomness and intensity of the mission keeps me playing it. regards

    Perhaps some set faction bases placed on the map, giving you the objective of reaching and holding that base, or attacking an enemy base with whatever ragtag team you picked up, even if that would be very hard. I assume it might lead to problems of enemy units spawning inside the bases when the player gets close, but just throwing some ideas. Thanks again

    Great work, I enjoyed it a lot. I like making up my own story and objective. Like saying "I have to reach town X alive" and deciding whether to go and help a friendly squad holding down some bad guys, or take advantage of the hole they create. I do have one question though, is MP a possibility? I would like to play this coop with a friend or two. *edit* I unpacked the pbo and added a playable soldier under the player character in the editor. I have yet to try it with a human player, but I assume it wont work right? When I start an MP game on my own, I am still a random soldier going solo with no soldier by my side. Just curious cause this would be a very sweet mission to play with friends.
  17. Great work HDlaeppli! I do have a question that might have already been answered so sorry if it's the case. Does AI react differently to these soldiers? or are they just as visible to AI as a BIS sniper? For versus MP it's a great addon cause human players will have a tougher time spotting these guys, but will it be the same for coop missions? will enemy AI have more trouble finding a ghillied up sniper?

    That vid was pretty sweet, although are you sure it was ver3 of maddmatt's? Are the A10 tracers part of Maddmatt's package?
