When I first got OFP, back when it was in its first year of release in Europe, I was impressed. It was not really the mission editing and the sorts which impressed me, but the sheer size of the islands your playing on, the vehicle responses, the animations, the graphics too at the time, as they were top notch for the time... all very impressive stuff.
I am still ever being more impressed by OFP, as look at all these extras we got now, ECP, BAS stuff, animations, missions, improved skins, and if you run OFP at max resolution like I do, at 1600x1200 (or whatever it is), the graphics are so... smooth. Very impressive for a nearly 5 year old game engine.
