  1. Hello

    .

My Dad was an Armourer in the RAF and the Tornado was never able to fire Mavericks, he recalls there was an upgrade program for an aircraft (he thinks it was the harrier) but the Tornado as already stated cannot fire the AGM-65.

And from what he remembers the Mighty fin still has its cannons but aren't loaded as standard (Gr4)

  2. lol, she got a 1 year old Fiesta.

499 plus bits and bobs she got extra, not bad i spose for a pre built , ill just have to take it apart and upgrade parts like the gfx card and soundcard, im hoping the mother board has a PCIe slot, and it looks like it is Dual core.

  3. Well my Girlfriend just went out and bought us a new PC without asking me about it sooooo what do you all think.

    Intel Pentium D820 Processor

    - 2.8GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache

    - Microsoft Windows XP Media Center ---WTF

    - 1GB DDR RAM

    - 200GB Hard Disk Drive

    - Multi-Format Dual Layer DVD RW Drive

    - 512MB nVidia GeForce 7300LE Graphics ---Eh!

    - 8-In-1 Media Card Reader

    - Vista Premium Upgrade Included --oh Joys

    - 19" Widescreen TFT Monitor

Your response decides wether or not i chastise her for being impulsive, like when she went out and bought the new car without telling me. Sigh.

  4. Since the story takes place during a training exercise, and assuming it would be taking place, "today," the uniform should be a mix of BDU and ACU. DCUs were only issued for deployments to SE Asia and Africa. The BDU is still the authorized uniform until either March or May 07, I forget which. The ACUs are still only allowed by Cdr's authorization, and technically, if the Cdr says he doesn't want us wearing them right now then we can't. The ACU is not the "current," uniform until the wear out date in mid-07.

ACUs are not the right uniform for the SF classes; they may wear them in garrison but no team I know would wear them n the field and our TACSOP forbides them on deployment, but then again, we're not regular grunt army and the rules are a little different for our MACOM.

I Assume the Cdrs permission is only required in the US, dont you Have to wear ACUs in Iraq and Afghanistan? The Pics coming out of S Korea show a mix of both ACU and BDU

  5. Very nice and informative video mate.

Was up by RAF Leuchars on my way to and from St Andrews yesterday. Spotted the HAS and other bits.

    Looking Niiiice!

Yeah not hard to miss the HAS at Leuchars from the Gaurdbridge-St Andrews road. You get a better view though walking round the back of the base through tentsmuir forest though. Infact you see most of the base from that road except for the Armoury and some other areas.

  6. It only claims that the photo was taken at a UN post.

That's not how I understood it. Oh well. It doesn't really change anything as it was just a supplemental part of my post. Besides, it still carries the same message.

The Bunker used by the UN had been there for some time, Hezbollah may/probably have used it during the years.

  7. The Tour De France Winner just failed a Dope test and tested positive for Steroids, Embarrising before daming now don't you think?

Especially after he went on TV on Saturday to speak out about doping in the sport.

oh didnt see Ironsights post, nvm... help.gif

  8. Im pretty sure the UN had told Israel 10 times (i think) that UN Observers where using the outpost, Troops Covered in bright Blue are hard to miss from a Recce, if they even did one.

Didn't the Israelis Attack an area near a refugee camp the other day? Or was i imagining that one?

  9. @Warden

Not sure I understood everything you said (damn vocabluary knowledge again  banghead.gif), but I served my self as a sniper in military recon and this rifle was my standart weapon for this.

Lol np, your English is much better than my russian biggrin_o.gif

You answered my question anyway thank you.

  10. Ukraineboy, where did you hear this? Ikavadas, I don't know the answers to your questions but unfortunately I doubt a developer will answer them here. However, I loved the Mechwarrior games and I'm looking forward to your mod! It would be cool to finally have a mechwarrior game where you can fight infantry.

Well, with Classic BattleTech nearly dead and Mechwarrior: Dork Age being a complete failure, and with M$ canceling Mw5 and refusing to give up the BattleTech license, the only hope for a MechWarrior 5 rests with the player base and user mods.  There are some good mods and games coming out though.

Classic Battletech is being re-released with a bit of Streamlining to make Aerospace units easier to use.

Sounds good, but we'll have to wait and see for a lot of the features in Arma, sneaky tight lipped devs sad_o.gif

  11. @ June 29 2006,17:30)]For Folks playing on the zeus server that are not checking our forums (www.ofp-zeus.com)

EqualModRequired is now activated for WGL5 gameplay on Zeus Addons. Face/custom file size: 20 kB.

That means that players will need to connect to us using exactly this mod parameter to OFP:

    Code:

    -mod=@wgl5;@zcommon

Take note of the capitalisation of the two included mod folders. It matters.

    cya all on the server.

I have the Zcommon Addons in the same folder as Wgl5, does that make a difference? i was on the server the other day, unless this is a new thing?

  12. from what the news agencys report, the intention was to scare monger the Syrians into extraditing the Hamas leader, who has been living in Syria to avoid arrest/assasination, to Israel. The apparent intention to gain information or a bargaining chip against the Hamas militants.

my point was that bar declaring open war on Syria, a few passes by Jets arent going to do much surely? Seems Israels grumpy and wants all of its neighbours to know

Well i think well know that living in a foreign country is no protection from israel.

Hamas has agreed to the conditional release of the Israeli soldier whose abduction sparked a crisis in the Middle East, it has been claimed.

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak made the claim but added that Israel has not yet accepted the offer.

It comes after electricity transformers in northern Gaza were hit by Israeli shells, cutting off power to much of the region amid the escalating crisis.

Israel earlier arrested eight members of the Palestinian Cabinet, among over 80 others, and it continues to bombard Gaza.

Hamas gunmen have been preparing for an invasion if last-minute diplomacy fails.

The tension continues to be ratcheted up as Israel attempts to secure the safe return of one of their soldiers, abducted on Sunday.

The country's Defence Minister Amir Peretz has approved the next stage of Israel's incursion into Gaza and has warned of worse to come.

Sky News' Emma Hurd said Israeli artillery shells have been raining onto open ground in Gaza - but so far they have been away from residential areas.

The US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has urged restraint on both sides.

Snatched: Cpl Gilad Shalit Earlier, the Israelis launched a rocket attack on a car in Gaza City said to be carrying a senior member of Hamas, the ruling Palestinian party, who escaped with slight wounds.

The head of Israel's southern military command has claimed that Palestinian Deputy PM Nasser Shaer was one of over 60 Hamas officials arrested in an early morning sweep in the West Bank.

Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for Hamas's armed wing, called the arrests "an attempt by the occupation to blackmail us to give them information about the captured soldier."

He added: "This is not going to happen."

The Israeli soldier, Corporal Gilad Shalit, 19, was snatched by Palestinians in an armed raid on a border crossing in Gaza.

Israel holds Hamas responsible for the abduction and has demanded they ensure his safe return or suffer the consequences.

In another development, the body of Eliahu Asheri, an eighteen-year-old jewish settler kidnapped by Palestinian militants, was recovered from the West Bank.

Israeli Army Radio reported that a Palestinian militant group, the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed to have killed Mr Asheri.

    From Sky News.

  13. Im surprised no one has mentioned the Excercise in the pacific yet, the last time 3 carrier battle groups where together in the Pacific was during the Vietnam war.

was that the one where the UK test fired a cruise missile from one of our subs, striking american soil (some island of hawaii i think it was) - was quite funny, as the brits seemed to like the idea of being able to shoot america  biggrin_o.gif

    Eh?

    i was on about this.

The five-day "Valiant Shield" exercises brought together an armada of three aircraft carriers and 25 other ships, along with 22,000 troops and 280 warplanes, off this tiny island in the western Pacific.

But as the maneuvers began, tensions were rising in the region over the possible test-launch of a North Korean long-range missile — prompting two ships participating in the games to be assigned off the Korean coast to monitor the activity.

Though officials stressed the exercises were not held in response to the North Korean activity or directed at any one nation, they said the games were a demonstration of the United States' capabilities should a crisis arise.

"Valiant Shield was a demonstration of the U.S. Pacific Command's ability to quickly amass a force in a joint combat environment and project peace, power and presence in the region," Air Force Lt. Gen. David Deptula told The Associated Press.

Deptula said the situation in North Korea had not impacted the exercises, which ended as scheduled Friday evening off this U.S. territory about halfway between Hawaii and Japan.

but i like the sound of that!
