They should put spike strips 100m or so out from the road blocks that'll stop them but at least shoot the driver first then see if they keep coming if they do then it's serious.

Yeah but the Germans have always lead the way with poison gas Also the USA is much less likely to use such weapons same with most other countries that have them whereas Saddam has proven he will use them whenever and whereever he feels like.

    Axis of evil wannabees..:-)

This was posted by Shadedredd in the totalwar.org forum I got a good laugh out of it, thought I'd share it with you all Axis of Evil Wannabees Bitter after being snubbed for membership in the "Axis of Evil", Libya, China and Syria today announced that they had formed the "Axis of Just as Evil", which they said would be more evil than that stupid Iran-Iraq-North Korea axis President Bush warned of in his State of the Union address. Axis of Evil members, however, immediately dismissed the new Axis as having, for starters, a really dumb name. "Right! They are just as evil . . . in their dreams!" declared North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. "Everybody knows we're the best evils . . . best at being evil .. . we're the best." Diplomats from Syria denied they were jealous over being excluded, although they conceded they did ask if they could join the Axis of Evil. "They told us it was full," said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. "An axis can't have more than three countries", explained! Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. "This is not my rule, it's tradition. In World War II you had Germany, Italy, and Japan in the evil Axis. So, you can only have three, and a secret handshake. Ours is wickedly cool." International reaction to Bush's Axis of Evil declaration was swift, as within minutes, France surrendered. Elsewhere, peer-conscious nations rushed to gain triumvirate status in what has become a game of geopolitical chairs. Cuba, Sudan and Serbia announced that they had formed the "Axis of Somewhat Evil", forcing Somalia to join with Uganda and Myanmar in the "Axis of Occasionally Evil", while Bulgaria, Indonesia and Russia established the "Axis of Not So Much Evil Really as Just Generally Disagreeable". With the criteria suddenly expanded and all the desirable clubs filling up, Sierra Leone, El Salvador, and Rwanda applied to be called the "Axis of Countries That Aren't the Worst But Certainly Won't Be Asked to Host the Olympics". Canada, Mexico and Australia formed the "Axis of Nations That Are Actually Quite Nice But Secretly Have Some Nasty Thoughts About America", while Scotland, New Zealand and Spain established the "Axis of Countries That Want Sheep to Wear Lipstick". "That's not a threat, really, just something we like to do", said Scottish Executive First Minister Jack McConnell. While wondering if the other nations of the world weren't perhaps making fun of him, a cautious Bush granted approval for most axis, although he rejected the establishment of the "Axis of Countries Whose Names End in "guay", accusing one of its members of filing a false application. Officials from Paraguay, Uruguay, and Franceguay denied the charges. Israel, meanwhile, insisted it didn't want to join any Axis, but privately world leaders said that's because no one's asked.

Go the Danish Funny how a number of news site/channels ect have USA / Briton as the major players and list only Australia as having special forces in Iraq. We also have a number of ships and other forces such as navy clearance divers. There are also the Polish special forces in Iraq and I'm sure others we are not aware of

Yes this thread IS about Operation I.F. in which America and various allies are participating however all the countries you mentioned are NOT. Your post was purly political and pointless however Schoeler simply thanked those that have supported the people on the ground. Now shut it before this great thread get's locked. Anyone think those Iraqi boats will get back to the Gulf after the war as part of a new Iraqi Navy?

About RAAF operations on the Gulf. F/A-18s have been operating around the clock flying escort missions and are armed with 2000lb laser guided bombs for targets of oppertunity. One such target has already been destroyed but a second target was not fired on as the identity of the target could not be confirmed to the pilot's satisfaction and the mission was aborted. This is all from Lt Gen Cosgrove and a few other high ranking ADF personnel such as McNaran the commander in the field. Have any of you non-Australians heard about the 3 Iraqi barges that were captured by the HMAS Kanimbla? with over 60 sea mines on board. The ADF is giving comprehensive briefings everyday (more often than others it seems and in more detail)

The War on Terror continues in Northern Iraq with missiles launched at a terroroist group operating there. They are reportedly responsible for the suicide bomber that killed an Australian ABC cameraman and injured many others. SASR have had a relativly uneventful night compared to yesturday (4 firefights many Iraqis killed / injured plus use of CAS) only destroying one suspected missile site (possibly unmanned) calling in CAS to do the job. A RAAF F/A-18 pilot aborted a mission because the target could not be identified to his satisfaction, this is due to the seperate ADF rules of engagement to avoid civilian casualties as much as possible. Speaking of which apparantly only 3 civilians have dies in Baghdad so far - if this is true that's bloody brilliant compared to what was predicted.

Well not exactly we do use the F89 which is basically a Minimi and the ADF Mod will be making a number of AMX variants for the Indonesian military ect I am sure there are other areas we can help each other out in as well

Stupid prideful commanders  It could very well be the appauling weather atm with all the big dust storms. So BBC says 12 US 4 Brit and Fox says 12 Brit and 4 US not really surprising.<span id='postcolor'> Pardon me if I seem testy, but could you fill me in on this failed operation?  I'd be interested to hear about a combat operation where we had to weasel a role for ourselves. The problem is not with the pilots -- they receive the same training other helo pilots get.  It's the birds.  The newest -46's are over 30 years old. Truly sorry for the loss of the Brits.  Per Mare, Per Terram<span id='postcolor'> Hmm sorry to be inspecific but I cannot remember the op name or exact target I'll tell you what I do remember - CH-47s were going to drop a ground force during desert storm. The army were providing the ground elements with airforce doing the transport and cover operation with naval support. Some USMC commander had a whinge that they weren't invlolved so they used USMC pilots for the choppers. There was a dust storm but nothing spectacular however only a few minutes into the flight 1 pilot got lost and returned to base soon after, 2 others turned back only minutes from the dz leaving a small force without the equipment they needed for the op. The ones that got there had no problems at all very odd. Anyhow i did not mean to be offensive and I appologise come to think of it it was kind of a useless post. I in no way blame anyone for the crash and my thoughts and prayers are with the families of all and any casualties of this war.
