Thought I recognised that name Mal, then when you posted u confirmed my suspicions. I hate cheaters that act all innocent on these forums, they completely ruin the mp community and shouldn't be helped at all.

Yes, interesting to read that the falling rubble can hurt you... means that not just bullets can hurt you but other things too. I wonder if they are going to have knives, bayonets etc that inflict wounds too. Probably been mentioned somewhere else but I dont have time to read all the threads. Waterman.

The only reason the mp community has kept going is the new patches which means they cheaters have to spend more time making new ones. This isn't the first id changer for ofp Moving Target, i hope you realise. With the option to turn off punkbuster then there's no reason why is should not be implimented.

Yes would be excellent for league play if it was just Server version. That way it would work on everyone, and people could not impersonate other people with new ID changers and changing names etc. Good job so far, but it does need more work to actually be effective with league play from what I've heard.

It's allready dead since 2003. Just scan server with ASE and see in-game servers. When I say dead, I mean only cheaters will be still playing and everyone else will have moved onto a new game. ATM there are still many ligit clans like DST, DK, USI, GGX, RN, KaoS etc... and it spoils the fun for our clans and the leagues we play in.

Yup, if nothing is done about this ID changer then im afraid OFP is gonna have a dead MP community. Just yesterday two members (including myself) from our clan were impersonated and perhaps 3/4 members of another clan impersonated too. So I really hope BIS impliment Punkbuster into Armed Assault, and preferrably somthing to stop the cheats taking others ID's now.

OK, just been messing about with the grass again. This time I've used more 'lush' looking grass textures. I dunno if it looks right, so tell me what you think. Pic1 Pic2 Waterman.

Thanks for the info, but I dont think it'll help much... Im trying to make a detailed town, but if its all down to the number of objects then there's not much I can do. Because of the size of the grass squares, there's always going to be a large number of objects to be drawn. I guess I could try making the squares of grass cover a larger area? or would that make any difference as there would be the same number of poly's but less objects if you know what I mean? Waterman.

The thing is its in big 'blocks' or squares the same dimensions as forest sections. It looks kinda ugly if you got a straight edge of grass then bare ground beside it. Also on Skye there are lots of valley's but also open spaces so, you have to do most if not all of it to keep the effect.

It may well do but not quite to the same height... Does anyone have any suggestions how to reduce screen lag other than via options in game. By placing tree's infront of an area thats lagging will it 'hide' it, or just add to the lag? Also does creating small hills as a barrier help reduce the screen lag? At the moment, I get between 10 - 60 fps depending on where I look. I probably mentioned it before but the grass takes off about 20 - 40 fps, so I might have to make a version without it for CTI purposes etc...

Thx, if you could pm me his email that would be great or even better could you ask permission for me. Was just reading this article, and it does seem that existing addons will port easily to the new games. Hopefully this will mean that by the time Im finished this version, Armed Assault will be out and will be able to handle it better.

Yeh, I haven't asked for permission yet, so I am not going to release anything yet. But anyway, that grass addon has been available for the community for a long time now, why hold it back again? Sorry but I dont get this problem... I tried it numerous times, but I always managed to kill him. Maybe its because i've modified it slightly but all I've done to it was to increase the resolutions of the LOD's so that they are more detailed for a greater distance. I'll maybe release a beta of it with just the north section, to see you can find any bugs. ATM, there are 2 bugs with the roads which I'll try and fix, one being that AI doesn't follow it yet and the second being that the roads 'dissappear' if damaged. I assume the last one can be fixed by increasing the armour etc though. Waterman.

@Hawkins: Thx for the info, the ilo grass seems to be too 'tropical' or not suitable for my European style island (based on Scottish landscape features). The grass on Dak Seang look really nice though although a little bit 'light coloured', so I might end up using it on higher ground. @Commando, hope u have a good PC, cause I dont get much more than 20fps and I got P4 3.2Ghz, 512MB PC3200 ram and a 128MB ATI Radeon 9700 mobility. Im trying to squeeze as much fps out as possible but I dont want to compensate on the realism. @Gandalf: Yeh, the missions should be, the landscape hasn't changed at all really apart from the new objects introduced. I'll probably make more fields though with the stone walls. About including the addons within the island pbo, that might be something I'll do later when its nearly finished. It would take quite a while re-configuring all the models into one pbo I would imagine.

Thanks guys. What do you mean Hawkins? I added the grass in WRPtool and no in the editor if thats what your meaning. Also so far I haven't recognised bullets etc hitting invisible walls. BTW, could anyone recomend a better grass addon (i.e. one that looks more realistic and perhaps less laggy)? This is the only one that I can see is available to the public at the minute. If yer gonna do any highland terrain it would be best to have some heather etc. I would quite like to make a very detailed highland area but dont have the time atm.

I wouldn't have thought so other wise how can you create the trenches etc in the editor which only allows default ofp cell size.

I used to play Falcon4 over a year ago, liked it but always found it a little difficult and the missions took forever to complete. A joystick is a must for this game as all flight sims though, I wore out my old Saitek 3D Cyborg I think it was, then I got the better version of it with force-feedback.
