    STOP discussing the politics behind the period. If it keeps up I will lock the thread. If you want to discuss the merits of various dictators, there are more suitable places. Leave this topic for discussion of the mod.

    Even if she was kneeling, these guys are responsible for her death. When using a heavy piece of machinery, "I didnt see her" is an unacceptable excuse. And since they knew the protestors were there, it is doubly a poor excuse! I dont think it was intentional, but it certainly was negligent manslaughter at the very least.

    I object to the use of the word "Nazi" in reference to the state of Israel.

    Feel free to point out whatever flaws/strengths you see in the government of Israel, but stop with the specious comparisons of the Jewish people to the Nazi's. It is insensitive and amazingly ignorant of historical fact. Please stop it.

    One thing I will agree with Billybob on is taht there aer elements of the Palstinian people and government which believes terrorism is a tool for change. Israeil might employ an iron fist at times, but I hardly think it is completely unjustified. Both sides hold pretty much equal blame for the terrorism in that bit of the Middle East.

    Huge amounts of school work, and I have been posting in a few other forums.

    The funny part is, I never quite find as diverse a group of people and talent as I know here... so I came back. In spite of not having a machine that will run OFP at the moment. ;)

    I plan on sticking around, and when I manage to get a tank to develop my large format negatives... and I find a way to scan them, I will regale you with some amazing black and whites of British Columbia life.

    The original Lucasarts flight sims (Their Finest Hour, Battlehawks 1942) had amazing manuals, and I wish more modern games lavished as much attention on the documentation.

    What would be cool is if BIS invested in a "Field Manual" for AA, and made it an optional purchase. That way, there could be an advanced manual full of info and stuff available without adding too much to the game price.

    Illegal WMD?

    The state of Israel is a sovereign nation.  They have the right to develop weapon systems with which to defend themselves.  If you feel that Israel's WMD are illegal, then obviously you feel that similar weapon systems within the aresenals of the USA are illegal as well, and thus Bush is as bad as Saddam and Osama for not freeing his nation of them?

    Just curious.

    The point still stands:

    The WMD excuse was weak before the war, and became laughable as time has passed.  There was no factual and substantitive evidence for the WMD claims Bushco made.

    And to bring US politics into it for a minute:

    The mid term elections next year will hand the GOP some stunning defeats.

    But Michael Moore isn't a Republican or Democratic politician that's tossed out a one liner fib on some 30 second news spot.

    Versus the appologists who take all of the lies and half truths that flow from the White House and the Bushites and eat it up with a spoon?

    So if Bush lies and those lies form the basis of an illegal invasion that kills thousands of people, it's ok... But if Michael Moore engages in a similiar distortion of the truth to get people to open their eyes a little and look at the bull they have been fed, he's somehow morally reprehensible?

    There are a lot more lies from the Bushites than a mere one liner fib on a 30 second news spot. And more evil and knowing lies than anything Moore could concoct. And that's ok with you, Avon? I am not being sarcastic...I really want to know...

    I prefer something called 'Vern's Pizza' It is a smallish local joint that makes this pizza that weighs like 6 kilos when it is done. Like 3cm of meat and chease on a pan crust. it's AWESOME. But my cholesterol level just cant take it more than twice a year smile_o.gif

    It isn't so much the NUMBER of photos that I concern myself with. To me, it is what is in the photos.

    It is very distressing to me that Rummy says that there aer not only MORE photos and video, but of a more sadistic nature.

    And I couldnt believe he said that it wasnt the media breaking this story, but the defence department. The very same guys that asked CBS to sit on the story, for fear of what it would do to public opinion.

    The iPod rocks. I have a 10 gig model and it is the greatest.

    I get ~8 hours of life between charges, and have never once had it 'reformat' itself.

    Plus iTunes is one of the easiest to use packages around.

    I am thinking of selling it and swapping to the Mini iPod when it becomes available. Only 4 gig, but SO small smile_o.gif

    Mostly it's manufacturing. They all use the same reference design, but the actual construction can be different in terms of component quality and overall reliability.

    Powercolor seems to be ok, however, I would get the Asus if the price is not drastically different. I find Asus build quality is generally way higher.

    Having watched said goal, I dont believe there was any interference. The Canadian player was driving behind the net, and the goalie went out of his net to play the puck... and clearly stayed out a little longer hoping to block the Canadian player. If the goalie leaves his crease, interference rules are not as strict...and the goalie clearly wasnt trying to get back into his crease.

    If you play flight sims, spend the extra cash and get the Saitek X45. There is nothing like having virrtually every control you need on the stick and throttle combo smile_o.gif

    Sorry if I implied ignorance, that wasnt my intention.

    manipulation is the order of the day when it comes to international politics. A lot of people call this 'conspiracy', but I prefer to call it pragmatic manipulation. there is nothing pretty about politics, either local, national, or international. it's a dirty disgusting process that requires a huge lack of ethics.

    You need to read a few more history books. Canada declared war on Germany long before 1942.  In fact, it was September 10th, 1939.

    And conscription had nearly zero effect on the Canadian war effort.  Although it was enacted, the level of volunteers for people outside of Quebec was such that virtually no conscripted troops actually saw action in the Second World War.
