Star Wars has the massive geek appeal, even higher than Spider-Man. And from all I've heard, AotC doesnt suck, and is a genuinely good movie. In which case, of course, the harcore fans will see it even more times. Plus it's a wider release worldwide, so it'll rocket up the scales that way. My prediciton, if it doesnt suck ass, is that it'll do 250+ million first three days.

Assorted Collection (of) Useless, Labourious, And Unintelligable Discourses Do I win?

Bush is about as sharp as a beachball. Anyone who admits that he has his wife help him out with 'The bigger words' in his speeches, does little to inspire my confidence in his intellectual prowess. Luckily he has guys like Powell and Cheney around to keep him in line. The US has pretty much become less of a republican democracy and more of a corporate state. The beginning of the end was when the US Supreme court gave a corporation the same rights as a person, back in the late 19th century. I'm not some raving communist, but the amount of clout the average large corporation wields in the US is horrific. But as systems go, the one the Americans have is pretty decent. You can express your crackpot opinions and fear only the withering looks of your neighbours... not whether some death squad will turn up and take you away

Considering the sorry state of Canadian Forces helo's, I'd love to see something like the Osprey succeed. Maybe then we can get rid of those flying rattletraps that pass as transport helicopters. But then that would require a reasonable amount of military spending on the part of the Canadian government.

When the Osprey switches from helicopter to a plane like flight, how does it stay in the air?<span id='postcolor'> Here is an overview of the aircraft. As I understand it, when it transitions from Helo mode to aircraft mode, it's already at a fast enough forward speed that the wings are providing the lift for flight. Rotating the rotor assembly just gives you a faster forward speed in 'Aircraft' mode. The F-86 is a Korean war era US fighter plane. The last of the pure 'dogfighters' before the guided missile became a part of the air force inventory. You can go here for a little background info.

It wouldnt work in dusty environments because it's turbine engine would choke. It was fuel hungry and all the new fangled electronic gear wouldnt survive the first hard bump. That hardware? The M1 tank. I think it's been proved pretty conclusively that it's a stellar performer. The Osprey has had it's problems...and now that they have managed to sort the worst out, I am pretty sure most Marines will have confidence in the thing. After all, it IS still an experimental aircraft.

LG makes great drives. I've been selling and using them since the good old days of 4X burners being the latest and the greatest. I find them generally more reliable than Lite-On, and less expensive than Plextor. Just remember, that price is AFTER the thirty dollar mail in rebate (at least if you're looking at the same ad that I am) and Future Shop can often be pretty tough to get a rebate from. But it's still a smoking deal.

Ack! Double Post. My bad!

Mad Max is 'gritty near future sci fi' as is 'The Road Warrior' Mission to Mars would also sort of qualify, in a near future sci fi sort of way

Seems a bomb was set off in Rishon Letzion, just outside of Tel Aviv, at a popular hang out. At least 40 injured with at least 15 killed. Full story here What the hell are the Palestinians thinking??? Â Things are finally starting to cool down a little so that negotioations can happen, and some extremist does something like this! Â Hasnt any of their leaders explained to them how important the opinion of the outside world is? And public opinion lately has been more pro-palestinian. Â Watch that take a tumble now. Sheesh Â

Heard about it before it was released... Had a friend that bought it the day it came out. He loved it. Except he's a total lamer, so I assumed it was stupid. Fast foreward to late February. I was really really bored and wanted a new game, and was in the mood for something with a military bent. So I grabbed it. And now I am hooked on the damn thing!

Actually, Buffet is a fairly smart guy. However, in this case he's just a moron. You can claim that pretty much ANY calamity will happen 'at some time' so this is just fear mongering of the worst kind. But at the same time, dont doubt for a minute that some lunatic would use a weapon of mass destruction if they could. Hopefully it never happens though. The last thing any of us needs is for nukes to become a viable option. I dont think it would be the end of the world...I doubt the Terrorists have enough nukes for MAD... but it would still be environmentally and socially a nightmare.

I cant remember the name of the Red Hammer mission where the two Chinook helicopters come in on the town and you have to shoot them down... I ran out...and as the first Chinook came over I popped it with an AA missile..and took it out. I just about leapt out of my chair in joy...untill the damn thing fell out of the sky right on top of me. Wahahahaha. I laughed so hard I almost cried.

No, that's just the OFPN logo. The moderator logo says 'Moderator' underneath. I find it pretty amusing that the Soviets are providing hardware to the allies of the US. Â In the 80's, this would have usually meant the US trying to overthrow your government And older equipment or not, it's still pretty formidable if you're fighting the likes of the Taliban. Â It wouldnt last long against the US though... edit: Damn you Red October....

You're not missing anything, Aculaud. That's the biggest piece of crap you've ever posted Wobble. Most of the stuff you throw up is usually amusing and interesting. But this is just... If there is anything about the whole mess that the US can hold it's head high on, it's that you are not lowering yourselves to the level of the terrorists. Yet that's exactly what that flash animation suggests would be a 'good' thing. Killing a man on the field of battle is war. Killing a man in a prison is barbarism. No matter HOW reprehensible what they believe in is.

CS is, and has always been, free. HL is a product you have to buy. Your WON ID is based on your CD key, and while you might get away with using a warez key, I wouldnt bet on it. Besides..there's enough enjoyment to be had from it for the times you want mindless action to make it worth what HL costs these days.

oh mi god... Denoir, you almost killed a sick guy, that was so funny. I've got a brutal case of bronchitis and can barely breathe...and that hilarious picture set of a coughing spasm so bad that now it hurts to breathe.. Bravo. God..I dont think I've seen anything so funny in... forever.

Sheesh. That just sucks in the worst way I feel for ya man. I had a six year old german shepherd that was living with friends of my parents till I had a place where I could keep him. He was run over a week before christmas, but my mom waited till after that to tell me so it wouldnt ruin my christmas. I've had cats that have passed away, but losing Kane was far worse than any of them ever were.

This is not slamming the US, but the Ferrari would EAT pretty much anything Dodge could do. The Viper IS a cool car, but it's not in the same class as Ferrari's flagship. I'm willing to bet there isnt one curve or angle on that Ferrari that isnt there for a reason. But you know what's great about this? We're both allowed to have our opinions...even if your is wrong

Wobble, you need new glasses. That thing is BEAUTIFUL. Look at the lines...and read the specs. 0-100K in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 320 km/h. Good lord! It is radically different...but that doesnt make it ugly! It looks like a formula one car less the spoilers, but with an enclosed cabin. Now, I am certainly not well heeled enough to afford one, but if I could, I surely would, especially since it's considerably less pricey than a McLaren F1 road car, and likely will be a lot more available.
