*sigh* If I had a dime for every time I left a grenade in my glove compartment... I'd have 3 dollars and 40 cents. ROTFL. I just couldnt believe that she couldnt discern the difference between driving north versus south. Let alone the CANADA on the signs that say Vancouver, BC on them!
-
LOL! Â Or how about those Americans with no sense of direction... Earlier this week, some lady drove to Vancouver, BRITISH COLUMBIA instead of vancouver, WASHINGTON. Would have been fine, but she was carrying what was likely a live hand grenade in her glove compartment. Â And Canadian Customs generally doesnt see that as a good idea And if I remember the report correctly, she was from Texas ;)

'pay a price' for going AWOL? Â I sure hope you mean to jail for a suitable amount of time. Otherwise that sounds sort of like a threat, and that isnt exactly a good idea now, is it? PS: I think you'd have to prove you are insane. And that's a tough thing to do. ie: Shrink: "If there had been a drill sergeant with a club at your elbow when you went AWOL, would you still go AWOL?" Trainee: "What, do you think I am insane?!?" Shrink: "Not in the least. back to basic for you!"

40% AWOL rate? That's freaking insane! And the army doesnt really care about those non-hackers who sign up and then run away? You'd think there would be more trouble for this guy considering the nation is, in theory, at war.

Five times the speed of light??? NASA needs to get ahold of this technology for inclusion into a Mars Mission. It could get there pretty fast that way! I wonder if this was a mistake in translation and meant five times the speed of sound ;)

I'll google it when I get home. I am not quite that lazy to shift it off on someone else! I was just hoping someone I know does good work had a secret ;)

You wouldnt know a good on-line tutorial for painting figures would you, ran? I just suck at painting them and would lvoe to find some good tips on making them look human Most of my armour ends up 'buttoned up' so I dont have to display them with figures!

I am having a fetish for WW II armour right now, and the Tamiya kits I have are excellent. I am reworking a standard M4 Sherman into a Canadian Sherman used in Italy. I have some good pictures but the work is going slow. I will post some pics when I get closer to done. I usually buy Tamiya because I have just never had a dud from them. If I can afford it, I am going to pick up one of their 1/6th scale WWII tanks with the R/C rig!

There's a blast from the past! Heya Hil! (never could say Hilly, I kept getting an image of a disembodied blonde headed female )

Gamespy has an article today about the 25 most under rated games of all time. They put OFP at 21 on the list of the most under rated games of all time. I totally agree with them. the game was not properly promoted in the US, and as such it is the realm of die hard fans like us, rather than having wider acceptance among gamers. I know that i get a blank stare still when I talk about Flashpoint with people. And I have turned at least 4-5 people onto the game here just by telling them how cool it is and suggesting the GOTY pack. Can we hope that OFP2 will get the promotion and hype that OFP1 deserved and didnt get?

You've never played half life?!? run out now. Get it. It is still better than 90% of the crap that gets released. It revolutionized the way that a game could tell a story. It also scared the living crap out of me the first time a head crap leapt, and NO other game has managed to do it quite like that. OFP came close the first time I played After Montignac, and heard soldiers moving arouns, searching for me. But that was more heightened awareness than fright!

Ummm, I've never, ever, ever, EVER heard of a herc launching from a carrier!!! . The main Carrier based prop cargo plane is the C-2 greyhound. I can only think thats what you mean. The undercarriage (Landing gear) is what requires the biggest beefing up for carrier based aircraft, not necessarily the structure. OF course it is possible to launch an A-10 using a catapult, just look at the S-3 Viking. Big, heavy and ugly, with the same engines as the A-10 You were saying?

Sweet case! I have a 1000D. I didnt like the white finish on the 2000, and I never move the thing, so the weight isnt an issue. I want an Athlon 64, but my computer budget has been decimated by the need to get a notebook for school use. I got an.. umm.. shiny aluminum PowerBook. And I know I cant play OFP on a Mac. Thats part of the reason I bought it I'll give some impressions when it gets here next week.

The fact that the US keeps shooting up Iraqi police (police that they themselves have vetted) tells me that there is something eriously wrong with the way that civil affairs are being handled in Iraq. Is there no communication?
-
Have a safe tour, Bals. Keep your head down if the locals start taking shots at blue helmets!
-
maybe it's just me, but to get something you have to earn it. If they werent in their own nation, then perhaps they should have to 'earn' something from the US. But since the US is the aggressor, it's awfully arrogant to speak of Iraqi's needing to earn things in their own country!

Tex, I am running out of room in my sig to display your gems of wisdom! Back when I sold computers, I told this to people over and over again. And had to fix problems from email virii over and over again for the same people. At one point, I wanted to creat an IQ test for people before they could buy a computer. But then I wouldnt have sold many

[tinfoil hat] they are just saying that to stifle panic and worry. They have in fact determined that it is going to hit the earth. For the next 11 years, the New World Order will build underground habitats for a sample of humanity that will survive the devastation. Included will be enough biological diversity to repopulate the earth one the dust clouds clear after the asteroid impact [/tinfoil hat]

I dont think this is an accident, Keg. Everything is a little too systematic for that.

Either he's lying or it was Al Queda. Either would make sense. I love how one news report claimed that the UN bombing might have involved AQ, and now some people just assume that was correct. After all, if Terrorism happens, it couldnt be people who hate what is happening. After all, who would dare be ungrateful for their 'liberation'? I think most of these terrorist actions will end up being traced to Iraqi people and groups who are pushing their own agendas.

I think Ubi needs to pull their heads out of their asses If the Demo is ready, release it now, and still have your marketing campain in October. that way you still get all of the people who havent followed the game swept up in the hype of the marketing blitz, while keeping the hard core fans who have anticipated this for ages happy. As it sits now, Ubi is going to piss off all the dedicated people who have been the core community up till now.
