I've been looking forward to Medieval - Total War for ages and finally got downloaded the demo and tried it out. It's amazing! The realism is breathtaking. While battles can have 1000s of troops, this is not at the expense of detail. Every single aspect, like terrain positions, weather, morale, disease, fatigue, skills, etc ... it's all there. The best thing is, as soon as you learn the interface, you can feel at home, as all the tactics work like in real life - no abstract rule system that has to be bend and twisted. It's simply the real thing. When my knights charged into battle - rumbling hooves and clouds of dust - bashing through the ranks of enemy spearmen, under cover from my archers on the hills ... It felt like the battle scenes from Braveheart ... I was a real warlord! The demo includes 8 great tutorials and ends with a HUGE battle against Saladin, which everyone says is very hard to win. I feel like mentioning that I won that battle in first try, with no morale breaks and very few casualties World, fear my hordes of death and destruction!

Yeah, I'm looking very much forward to play the battles in combination with an overall strategic/economic campaign in the full version. It really adds depth to the fighting It also opens the possibility for deploying armies much stronger than the defenders - a quite realistic aspect too. Now I've played Jaffa 3 times, and I lost the second time, but won again in the 3rd. It seems if you survive the first attack and get regrouped, the enemy don't stand much chance

I think it's a good thing if people can use faith to help them through a crisis or make them strong. Actually I think it's fantastic. When I have been critical during this thread, it has been aimed at those who do not accept anyone who believes otherwise than themselves. I think it's good if someone finds hope in their god, nomatter what shape or form, but I think it's bad when they demand that everyone else must believe exactly the same or "burn in hell". Why cant they just be satisfied with believing it for themselves and not care that others have THEIR beliefs? I just don't understand that part... I think it's more arrogance than true belief.

F*¤#ing hell that game was amazing...<span id='postcolor'> Hell yeah! Deus Ex is truly amazing, a different gaming experience. I played it again just a week ago. I think the best thing in it was the inlinearity: You can explore the city or base freely and talk with any person you like. The attractive thing in it is that you must figure the situation in the game and make decicions yourself. For example if you want to kill some evil guy instead of taking it as arrested, just do it. It is more like a role game than a first person shooter. I just can't wait till Deus ex 2 comes out. I heard that it uses the new unreal engine and saw some screenies of it, they look very nice!<span id='postcolor'> I agree. Another factor that I liked it so much was this whole conspiracy world. I've always loved that stuff... fancy secret hideouts, biolabs hidden in sewers, mysterious troops from unknown organizations, multinational coorporations bent on world domination, Illuminati, heh .. the list goes on. Actually I think I was too paranoid when playing the game - I was convinced EVERYONE was out to get me, even my pilot  MDRZulu: Deus Ex is a bit aged by now, but still it shouldn't be missed. It's very much worth playing still. You can go here and check it out. There's also a section with loads of info on the sequel, which will have a ton of groundbreaking tech-features:http://www.planetdeusex.com/

Since OFP I've bought these games: Commandos 2 Quickly became repetitive. Knock out guard. Tie up guard. Steal stuff from guard. Hide guard. Knock out new guard... Star Wars JK2 Excellent game! The saberfights where amazing and I really felt like a jedi during the single player campaign. It was just too short and multiplayer is braindead quake3 style. Dungeon Siege Was quite fun for a day or two. Then I had seen it all. Became very very repetitive. Max Payne Like SW JK2 it was an amazing single player experience. But after living through the story once, it has little replay value. One of the better plots and moods in a long time. Finally a game that doesn't have too much childishness over it and dares to be really ugly. Black & White I tried giving my mooh-cow personality disorders but didn't succeed. Then it became boring fast. So now I just sit with my hands in my lap, waiting for something truly great to hit the shelves. I've ordered Neverwinter Nights and hope it will be fun for a good while. I'm mostly of all looking forward to Deus Ex 2. I wish there would be much more games that really bends your mind and sucks you in like Deus Ex did. F*¤#ing hell that game was amazing...

Again, all other companies charge money for game addons and expansion packs. Resistance is an expansion pack. Why should BIS not charge for it? It's a company - companies makes money or they wither and die. It's not some aid organisation out to rescue you from boredom. If you don't think Resistance is worth the money then don't purchase it. It's that simple - there's no pressure anywhere. If you felt the patches put you under an unbearable strain as a gamer, I'd suggest you had just stuck with version 1.00

Look on the OFP cd box. Does it say anywhere that modtools are included or will be included in the purchase? It was only when BIS began to show generosity in the form of free addons and maps, that people became greedy and demanding. Like it has been said before, BIS don't owe you anything. If it was my decision, I'd rather see less mod options. Even with a select crowd of modelmakers, we have several examples of new models that does not LOD properly and has many other sloppy errors, essentially downgrading the quality and consistency of the game for those who are forced to download these obscure addons to play games on multiplayer maps that requires them. I suggest people buy Resistance if they want to, or don't buy it if they don't want to. Stop this "boycot BIS" sillyness and move on. Besides, there is a sticky saying "No more oxygen complain threads". Please respect this.

Please remember that any links or hints to warez - including BIS software - will result in a ban from these forums. I'm just saying this in case anyone forgot. Personally I wish good luck making the dropship for OFP. It's one of sci-fi films most believable (and cool) designs.

True. Maybe it's me that there is something wrong with, but I find it pointless to make money if you haven't given everything you've got first.

The weapons are very poorly modelled. The Uzi sounds like a Shilka cannon, when we all know an Uzi makes this very distinctive flat metallic *flap-flap-flap* sound.. simply lazy weapon design for such a game.

I agree the whole AI in ofp isn't really geared for urban fights. Sometimes you can sit and shoot soldiers, while their squadmembers just keep running around not seeing you. Other times they magically know exactly where you are...

64 is a pretty good age to die ... think of it... if you get older, you will just see all your friends and family members die and end up dying alone many years after. Isn't it better to leave the party while the mood is good? Â Â BTW, Sadico... where in Spain does these rednecks live? edit: sp

I think OFP has "ruined" my ability to like any other military-shooter, because all the others are years behind in gameplay. Atleast BIS hasn't ruined my idea of a good RPG or strategygame yet, but I'm sure if they move into these fields, same will happen Tried the demo of SOF2 and it was really boring. Only played 5 mins.
