After a good amount of sniping, having killed a whole lot of soldiers as well as the hind and shilka crew i snuck into the base. After a great many retries i decided not to go with the shilka as per the prima strat guide. Instead i lawed the T80 a couple of times, which made it come after me. While it was busy descending from it's hill i had just enough time to take off in one of the hinds. I put it on manual fire, selected rockets and went on a killing spree after i emptied one hind, i set it down in a safe spot, ran to the other one and emptied that ones rockets on the russkies that were running around i don't think any russkie survived that mission <span id='postcolor'> LOL, that's how I pulled off "Hind Attack". Me and the squad first had some fun in Morton, blowing up the helpless trucks with satchels and plugging the guards. We also stopped by their take-off point and "removed" the Shilka and T80. After having spend all our goods, we got into a truck, raced into the Hind-base, stole a Hind (lost a brave pal in the process), flew off and erased the entire island

... and damned stupid. Totally unrealistic in every aspect.

That should ABSOLUTELY be the CHALLENGER Main Battle Tank!!

Red Hammer is not as good as the original campaign, anyway. There's no real story and they didn't dare go all the way with the fact that you play a Guba-troopa. Swapping sides in the middle of the game is rather lame. It would be waaay cooler if you where this communist-fanatic and all your orders where overpasted with propaganda about the western evils! In the end when Guba dies, you would make a suicide attack on a civilian town, out of pure bitterness and dispair.

Yes, I suppose that would go. The Bradley's a great model! Thanks for the spec info. I thought it was only the looks that are similar, but they are practically the same vehicle!

The dedicated page at OFP.CO.UK has been updated with many screenshots of my soon-to-come UN forces addon. Check it out Cheers!
-
OFP already has a BRDM 2 It hasn't got a turret though. I've never seen a picture of a BRDM 2 without a turret. If it had a SAM launcher, it would be way more useful, since US has so many choppers

Paratrooper: You are right - not all are clear about how the UN works. Some people (I'm not refereing to anyone here), even thinks that UN has it's own army. Therefore I have also gathered alot of material, which I intend to include with the addon, to inspire mission makers, and hopefully result in some awesome missions. BTW, thanks for the comments!

In Normandy, the germans did the mistake of taking tanks into street combat. Many tanks where lost because someone threw a Molotov down from a house window, into the engine grate. This instantly put the engines out of use. But I'm sure modern tanks don't fall for that trick.

Crosshairs are unprecise anyway, so it doesn't matter so much. Make a test, the M16 or AK74 will hit below and to the left, when using crosshairs. Ofcourse, if you compensate for this when aiming, it can be quite useful at medium/close range.

A game I loved for it's ambient life, was Myth II. It had tons of stuff, and when you blew up a chicken, you got this cloud of feathers in the air! It would be great with deer, cows (and dead cows like in Saving Private Ryan), chickens, pigs, etc. Also bird flocks that would be disturbed if you made noise. This way the enemy would guess something fishy was going on! ... ok, maybe not the AI ... they don't guess much before they die.

I think Stinger damage as it is now is realistic and balanced. It's rare that a Hind goes down in one shot, but two will atleast force a landing or crash. Infact, I just experienced this in-game, about an hour ago. The Hind was so low that it landed when the engine was cut off after second Stinger hit. Regarding disabling tracks. This already works! I'm not sure, but I think it came with patch 1.40. If a tracked vehicle gets track damage, it can only drive VERY slowly. If you shoot out a tyre on a jeep, it can only drive around in circles! It's a great idea to try and add more realism, I just think it's hard, as most changes would have to be in the actual gamecode, like jams, engine failure, dud grenades, etc. I've tried the few vehicles that came out of the abandoned "Real War" mod, and didn't find them interesting. The weapon's damage and such was changed, but it didn't add anything to the game experience. So I think, if you simply change the damage values on the weapons, it will just be irritating. Like, we are all used to how grenades work in OFP, so suddenly have to manage with something that works less well, would be annoying. But that's just my oppinion.

In open sea, the water is up to a 100 meters deep in places. The average ocean depth is around 50 meters. BMPs, etc. do float - i.e. they maintain height with surface and can easily float where the water is very deep.

I think they made the pod so tall, so the gunner could stand up. Notice how the gunner simply rotate around the tripod axis when you turn the gun. If he was lying down, he would slide round in a huge arc. Maybe a compromise would work - a sitting gunner?

I was surprised to read the walkthrough for "Escape From Prison". It explains how to wait for nightfall, sneak past guards, navigate by the stars, etc! Here's how I did it: While following the Speznatz in the beginning, I found an ammo crate, got a AK74, shot the guards and stole the Hind. After that I could level half the island with rockets and fly home.

Neither do I.

I'm glad to have the strategy guide. If I didn't, my OFP set would be incomplete and that would be a shame
