Maybe if they can't make new stories and interesting tactical missions in SP they should get someone who can. P.S Jezuro׳s missions were great in East Wind, he should be making more. The level of the missions in Apex Protocol was just below a reasonable standard. -
Tapatalk - smartphones app for forums browsing
Variable posted a topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE: Web-Pages
May I suggest BIS to activate Tapatalk on the forums? It's a nice forums browsing smartphone app. I use it to browse the CiA and Folk forums and it's just great. It makes browsing, reading, posting, replying and quoting very easy and convenient from a smartphone. vBulletin is supported, over 22500 forums activated it and they seem very concerned with security so I guess it's safe. Closure: I have no business interest in this, it's just very convenient and useful. (I hope this is the right place to post this, moderators, please move topic if that's not the right board) For Tapatalk features and impression, see below. It contains a brief list of features and selected screenshots of Tapatalk running on different devices (quoted from their website): -
Does that mean that the wonderful sound effect of the underwater transmission will be removed and underwater transmissions will sound just the same as transmissions made in the SR radios?

I forgot to mention the most important thing. While loading the second mission the server crashed... Regarding Steam Workshop sharing, I'll recommend hosting it in an additional source. First of all, this will get the mission on Armaholic. Secondly, it will be easier to update for users who are not familiar with locating the shared workshop mission on their local drive and update it, it's not too friendly. I am familiar with it, but others who run servers might not. -

Gave the Chernarus version a test run last night on a dedicated Windows server, with ACE and ASR AI, with 9 players. Wonderful work man. Beautiful! We picked the dynamic campaign but played only one mission. The biggest issue was that we had a moonless night, but no night vision equipment or illumination flares. We found a few nvg equipment in the insertion vehicles but most of the team were left completely blind. We spawned a crate with flares to light up the night but that too proved to be problematic since there seems to be a filter that dims down the light of the flares so they don't do much good... The mission was to protect an ambushed convoy, the insertion, fighting and extraction worked flawlessly. -

Right, a good question will be, does the campaign support ACE? I'd also like to ask if anyone tried this with ACE + ASR AI? -

TPWCAS for A3 - AI Suppression System - suggestions/comments/ideas discussion
Variable replied to ollem's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Oh the sitting phenomena doesn't happen anymore. I thought you fixed it in the latest version but if you didn't it might have been a resolved ASR AI issue. -
Although some of the issues of this mission have been discussed alternately on the Win Review thread, I thought of putting them in a single topic given the multitude of problems I encountered comparing to other missions of the campaign, and the fact that my playthrough was made on the stable version. Played on Veteran difficulty. Charlie 3-4, the IFV, gets blown up pretty easily. It's VERY hard to keep him alive. I practically had to sprint-fight through the solar station to take care myself of all the enemy AT soldiers in the compound to ensure they don't take a shot on the IFV, which took a significant amount of reverts. It's just feels as if it's almost impossible to keep it alive. Not really a big deal but it feels wrong. You are being told by Crossroads to hold the solar station but immediately after they tell you to move on to the next objective, the town. A bit of an odd moment there, but, again, no biggy. The counter attack comes very soon, which leaves you with almost no time to prepare yourself, or even get into some good position. For example, you have the option to use some ara AT mines using the artillery but virtually no time to order them in on the movement axis of the attack once the notice regarding the counter attack is made. You can use the IFV (that is, if you managed to save it on the solar factory) but only if you are extremely lucky and the AI driving skills are on the good side if can get you safely to the eastern defence line. I can understand the need to make a high-paced mission, but it just feels off. Arma was never about a killing spree, I think the campaign should encourage players to take things slower and, for example, allow them to equip their guys for a frontal armoured assault. Right now it's almost impossible to equip even yourself. Another problem is that my team members don't seem to correspond to their icons. for example. My AT soldier (number 4) is armed with a Titan launcher but has an MG icon, along with other inconsistencies with others on my team. Now let's move on to the more serious problems. The support options of these missions are very problematic. First, the chopper gets shot down very easily, even when I called it while there were only one or two armoured vehicles, he got shot down. However, the most serious problem is that when the chopper is destroyed the mission fails! On several attempts, right after I received the "we have lost the chopper" message I received the mission failure screen saying I failed to defend the town from the counter attack, although I was alive and all my squad was still intact. The artillery support seem buggy as well. I tried laser painting the attacking tanks using the drones LD and calling in laser guided missiles from the support menu, but not, even once, I was managed to see a successful impact. Sometimes I saw an explosion (after the "Splash" message) far away from the target but most of the times not even that. The 155mm rounds hit way off and that's somewhat understandable, but laser designated bombs and missiles suppose to be highly accurate, so I don't suppose this by design. Due to the fact that calling CAS is failing the mission, and artillery is helpless even with laser designation on stationary tanks, I was left only with the option of relying on myself and my team. I finally managed to complete the mission by disabling a tank and taking over it, but I felt the mission was not played as intended, and I would like to try it again should the above mentioned bugs or design flaws be fixed. Do others share the same experiences? Can we expect fixes to some of the mentioned issues?

I'd suggest doing both by delivering the cistern to FIA and taking out the officer using ATs or explosives.

Lighty, is the campaign dedicated server compatible? -
Pretty bad sound bug in latest version, stable branch. Shots sound is completely blocked by objects, even small ones. Video included in the bug report. https://feedback.bistudio.com/T123992

Hey Anguis and all! Not to hijack this thread but anyone playing Arma 3 by now? We will love to see your familiar faces on the CiA coop nights, which are still going strong.

When I get that (and I get that a lot), it usually helps to alt-tab out from the game, and alt-tab back in. When alt-tabbing back in, the FPS goes up to normal. I hope that can help.

Excellent! What tools were you missing before? -
For me, the new night lighting is the most glaring step back in the game's development since the alpha. Night time lighting used to be Arma's feather in the cap, and now shadows are just a soup of black, which is not realistic at all. In fact, I find it easier now to detect enemy infantry since their weapons glow like Christmas trees due to completely off contrast. I still play the game, but my enjoyment has diminished considerably due to this single factor.
-
Why does that happen? I thought ASR AI only suppose to move AI around if they have no predefined waypoints?
-
The activation range for the "open backpack" action is too far from the actual backpack. Ideally, it should be possible to access a unit's backpack from its back or sides only, and from a distance not greater than half a meter.

Can we please have the cursor locked to the Arma window? Lots of players have a multi-screen setup and getting alt tabbed out in the middle of a firefight is a thing now, because sometimes the cursor will wonder off the screen, a click will be made and hoopla, we are out of the game staring at our desktop. It's a shame we need to use applications like this one to prevent that.
