Yeah, but... Arma2 is going to be released in 2009. It's about time to upgrade radoll to make it suitable for MP in 100%. (Americas Army is only MP game and ragdoll there is great). About euphoria, I see it first time and I am really amazed, but I do not think that RV3 can handle such a thing. On the other hand it is great to see that future warfare simulators will give 99% real life experience. Here comes another mind. You guys know dying animations from SLX_mod... those are so great that ragdoll isn't really needed. So if BIS will include such ones we will send ragdoll to where it came from @Madmatt You say "Such a large game". How about oblivion? It's map is as big as arma's (or bigger) and about 1000+ NPCs all over it. Tons of scripts and effect whatever you do and ragdoll is still included. What's more, oblivion works better than ArmA on my low-end PC. (gf7300gs 256ram ddr2, cpu 2,8ghz,1gb ram ddr2) Dont say it sucks, I know it

I agree with you in 100%. This is what I think about death animations. @NoRailgunner Nobody tells you to write anything. If you don't like it, don't write. @Opteryx Maybe there were many ragdoll topics but there was no poll. At least I've not found any. @4 in 1 You think that it's impossible to hide behind ragdoll? Then you're wrong. Many people say No to ragdoll because it's 'Laggy'. Hmmm... in oblivion after nice fun I had more than 30 dead bodies. FPS weren't dropped down even by 1. But yeah sure, it is laggy as hell!  What's more, I just love to see a dead body half in building. And I am so amazed when I see that Animation ended in air and character falls like a wooden. I think that some of the animations should be much improved, for example death animations. I do not find most of bodies lying the same way exciting. If you think that animations aren't important then go play Tibia. No offense  I hope for more comments to discuss it better.

Yes, as I play many fps/warfare games I can see that almost every one of them have Ragdoll, it adds lots of atmosphere to the game because every dead body lies different. What's more ragdoll with good game physics can give tons of fun. My example: Oblivion. Imo this game has the best ragdoll ever and I'd love to see same in Arma2.

Most important annoyance ARMA 2 must get rid of

Huh, are you sure it is impossible to lock on targets behind in A10 in ArmA? If so, how am I doing this? @Celery You killed me with this one. _ About bugs and glitches, I spotted bug even on forum's text space... I hope Arma2 will show everyone that BIS and bugs have nothing in common. -

I remember good old times, destroying T80s in OFP because while turning back with A10 I could look behind me and lock on new targets. What do I get in ArmA? A10 has got so weak engine that on turning speed decreases from 300 to even 150. What's more, the most important, I can't look behind, when I turn and use free look camera it starts doing strange things for example look in other direction. To conclude, I want more powerful A10 engine and possibilty to use free look properly while turning. Despite that, ArmA ftw! -

I do also look at weapons in ArmA2 vids in first person and I am disappointed. Why? Because I can't see the weapon, only barrel and piece of ris. But yeah, it is connected to FOV. Omg, then I can repeat myself once again... FOV1.08 But hell... it is up to BIS, I've experienced already that those guys can do a thing that noone even dreamt of before. (For example carring wounded). Offtopic. I used to say "Im buying arma2 for sure"... ShaderModel 3.0 and DualCore requiment (As Maruk said) kicks me out until I buy new computer -
This is what I call ArmA's best FOV. Yeah, it's from ArmA 1.00. Great M4 model. (Also great recoil and camera action but this can't be seen on picture...) Click here for best quality, one piece and greater resolution. Picture found on net... somewhere

Amazing textures, Rocket.

This is made by BIS? I dont know what to say The voice in teaser... it sounds so familiar, hmmm Ah ye, it's the one annoying form Armed Assault campaign

There are no stupid questions. Â I guess the US Soldiers had these boots in Elite, that's what we orientate on. Though they were indeed black in OFP. I guess we all can live with these gaiters on the boots. @SNKMAN No worries, your beloved Everon will be there, too. Well that makes me sad. I always thought that black leather boots are one of soldier's symbols. After battle environment changed to desert those are no longer black but yellow. Now even Mod showing era with black boots makes some green brown. Yeah, Im sad, very sad. What you mean saying "Had in elite"? I thought this is "ArmA Cold War Rearmed", not "ArmA Elite". No offense from my side.

I think that with this one everyone agree. BIS... we want... Avtomat Kalashnikova from year 1947... so called... AK-47 -
Maybe, but who knows? Hope BIS will suprise as and show that ArmA series can beat a good old ofp
-
After many great pictures by community here comes Opteryx and shows us breathtaking (just) screenshots! from arma. I was very suprised.

Stupid question, sorry. Why soldiers have brown green boots instead of Black leather boots like in OFP?

I think that performance is TOP SUPERIOR ( ) thing in every game. I agree with all above especially with the one about units and vehicles. Also as ArmAII is expected to have wild life and CIVILIANS, it is necessary to have tons of civilian use vehicles such as trucks, pickups and of course cars. Also as "Sahrani Life" is one of the most popular online game(and BIS knows it) more cars are necessary, because only BIS stuff gives a 100% sure of its perfection. About micro AI, Marek says that those AI will use supressive fire, will use everything as a cover, buildings (inside and outside for example rooms corners balconys) et cetera....et cetera.... The only thing I hope is that BIS is reading what we write here, otherwise we've just wasted our time, haven't we? -
Nice example. Here's my answer. In Americas Army Game there's a possibility to kick one bullet out by pressing [J] without necessary to shoot(It is done to unjam weapon mainly). Would be nice to include it in ArmAII as in real life M16-series can jam very easly. What's more, when reload SD ammo with one Non-SD bullet inside, we would be able to kick this cover-blowing bullet away. (And then some russians would find it and our cover is blown anyway) Joke ;p
-
How will canceling the reloading save you from getting shot, if you can already move while reloading? Â By canceling you can sprint to cover, or is it possible sprint in arma2 while reloading?? Nope, only while jogging or walking, no sprinting. @Rawr Thanks for the video, Im gald to see it is possible, thanks again. Btw. arma2 ftw ;D How about Dry / Tactical reloading, guys? What do you think? Is it possible/ needed in arma2?

For me this game can be even released in 2010. I don't really care when, I care only about quality, about details. I think that bis should stop adding extra huge features like RTS system, but start working on details, the big onces, the small onces and the tiny ones. Effects!!!! Even the things that need 5-line command but gives extra feeling. ArmAII is expected to be "best warfare simulation" of years(for example by me and more), so it should be... of course... Realistic -
I know that its possible while walking, I'm watching films, but its not possible while jogging. That's why I wrote point 2. I was trying several times on different terrain in real life to reload my M4 while running and I had no problems. I was even able to reload while moving in prone or while rolling. About animations... this machinegunner on screen only opened SAW, we have same in arma with RedFix. I don't want to see disappearing magazines because it breaks feeling... About animations I'd like to see also characters animated. I don't want to see same animation for every gun. I saw that it is possible in Real Virtuality, for example in VBS1. To bis - We have year 2009 soon, I think that fully animated and detailed reloading is a standard of any warfare game.
-
-Parachues in ArmAII should be opened by player, not automatically. -There should be a good animation of sky diving, this way we could have some HALO jumps even in Single Player... Im sure it would be a great fun to aprove sky diving from 20000m -We should be able to control them, at least as a SpecOp. Bis... the modern parachutes allow you to land with 1cm precision.
-
Off topic here but your english is as good as mine, and it's my native language. Haha you've killed me! xD And yeah it should be removed. Even when someday someone will play Evo with FFN it will be hard to destroy radio tower as you'd have to be specop or engi.

Watch some films of current status of both games, read news and then write what you want. Firstly, In ArmA2 there will be lots of detailed enterable buldings, I even saw one that is much bigger than ArmA1 "hotel" and looks better. AI will also be able to use them, camp in windows and behind everything - watch films(films download - armaholic.com). Secondly, Island with city? Porto is one, earned with Queens Gambit Expansion Pack... always you can download some addons like city by Opteryx which is really nice. About enterable buildings... well it's harder thing to do Finally, OFP2 will focus on some nice CQB? Omfg man what are you talking about? Who wrote that? Codemasters? All they've shown us so far were some fights in woods and fields... Please show me the website on which you found it, ok? Not forum or somthing, official website. -
Yes, only SpecOps and Sapers are allowed to put stachel charges or mines. Same way only Pilots, SpecOps and SLeaders are allowed to fly as a pilot etc etc. It has been written some posts before.

Sorry, you may took me wrong. Let me explain in better way. Saying exploding I wanted to say I prefer destructable environment rather than ArmA1 ones. For example in ArmA1 if you shoot a crate it simply disappear, while I would like it to chop into parts. Hope you understand it now, I am just missing few words.... Â About counting bullets... oh yeah, tested once again and you're right, the magazine with the most ammo is reloaded automatically. Sorry for this one About drifting tanks... Hmmmm, yeah I heard that in next part of arma drifting tanks will be included... the name of the next part was... ArmA3: The jackass. -
Day by day getting more angry with 1.14 FOV. I wonder why BIS made such a FOV? It has only negatives. 1. Weapon is almost unspottable. 2. The field of view is VERY narrow. 3. Scopes are no more needed. I hope( ! ) BIS will bring us back a FOV from ArmA 1.08 because it was simply the best. [edit] I also suggest my own option of FOV. ManClass initFov = 0.95; and in perspective: class Rifle : RifleCore { opticsZoomMin = 0.42; opticsZoomMax = 0.95; opticsZoomInit = 0.75; It gives FOV from 1.08 but theres no such a big zoom in perspective. There's only little zoom. Max zoom is half as high as 1.14 one... That gives you better feeling as recoil isn't wierd anymore as in max zoom 1.14 and also scopes are useful again.
