  1. For the future don't post the same thread in to sections.

What you are wanting to do is fairly complicated, esecially for someone starting out. Sorry I don't have time to help right now, but go to the biki and start playing around with scripting in the editor.

  2. For longer range shots try this.

    1. create a trigger activated on radio alpha, repeatedly

    On Activation: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">setacctime .01

    2. create another trigger on radio bravo, repeatedly

    On Activation: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">player exec "camera.sqs"

    3. go into editor and line up your shot

    4. Activate the setacctime with radio alpha (command menu 0-0-1)

    5. fire the shot

    6. quickly active the camera (0-0-2 in command menu)

    7. Move the camera with num keys and watch the bullet go down range. Adjust setacctime .01 to your liking. v is to exit camera.

If you already know this then you might try it if not it is handy to know.

  3. try the distance command. Cant remember exactly how it works, but something like:

    <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">?(boat distance man) <1:whatever

or have you tried setting the boats waypoint as load and sync it with the get in waypoint. The boat shouldn't leave until everyone is in.

  4. Just some clever scripting.  Not sure how but I am sure it wouldnt be too hard to do if you sat down and looked at it.  Do you need to attach satches to cars or are you just trying to make a car bomb.  If it is the latter use this:

    <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"laserguidedbomb" setpos[getpos car select 0,getpos car select 1]

just sub in the name of the car for car in the code.

EDIT: oh and put that in the activation feild of a trigger set to go off on radio alpha or whatever you want.

  5. I agree with Kyle, how do you make the crosshairs less acurate? Even in ofp where you had to judge a little bit it was still easy to use.  Besides if you cant use your crosshairs in mp then stop playing close quarters maps.  I don't know why you people keep making threads about trivial things like these.  Bis will make patches that deal with real issues like the campaign and flight models.  They won't be taking out features that the majority of the people who play the game enjoy.  So continue ranting against the crosshairs if and other nit picky issuse if it makes you feel better, but I bet you anything that crosshairs are not removed or modified in any way for infantry.

  6. I like the game.  I never played ofp for the campaign,  I played ofp and now arma for the awsome editor and modability.  I can't play ARMA online because of my restrictive firewall, but I never really played ofp online much becuase you needed 10 GB of addons to connect to a server where you waited 30 until the game was over only to be kicked because you were missing the motorcycle ramp addon that wasn't even used in the mission  pistols.gif  banghead.gif   Anyways I am not seeing all these supossed bugs.  Maybe things that need to be tweeked, but not bugs.  Yes the campaign is broken, but that is because the game is rushed.  I have had no problems with arma besides the fact that some vehicle controls need to be redone.  If you feel you were jipped then maybe you need to consider things better before you spend your money on them.

EDIT: oh and to you people who say the controls are clunky, I agree with you on the vehicles. I really think they need to bring back the crosshairs with the vehicles and cut out the autocenter thing. With the infantry though, it is called momentum. People do not go from a dead sprint to a full stop instantly. The infantry controls are much better in ARMA than in ofp.

  7. I really hope the grass is not scaled with the terrain. That would just be stupid. I like the grass, but I set my terrain to very low because it saves cpu power and there is not much of a difference. Why is it so hard to just have an option to turn grass on and off...

  8. The units are very nice.

I have a question, a bit off topic.

I am retexturing some units of my own, for personal use, and I was using you config so I dont have to retexture the original units in the game. I got the units to work, but it uses the original textures. How do I tell it to use the new textures I created. I noticed you put your textures in folders, but I can find no refrence to them in the config. Could you please enlighten me as to what I need to do?

  9. ARMA is not shit, and saying so is a bit short sighted. It has not been out very long and just as in ofp patches will be released. I don't know what you guys are talking about with big battles, because I can have much bigger battles in ARMA than I can in ofp. I usually have battles with 300-500 men and zero lag. OFP may be better to mod now because the tools for it are already out there and it has been refined by numerous patches and mods. In time ARMA will be the same.
