Hmm I gotta find some players to play with then. I'm really looking forward to playing this but don't have 15 people I can call up :(

If anyone could manage to swipe the video in its highest definition and offer it up for download (or send it to me), I'll edit it and put it up (HD) on youtube. :popcornsmilie:

"Are next" what? Your asking if there will be anything next week? They've been keeping up with their weekly updates pretty well. I think people should consider themselves lucky that BIS is even releasing anything at this point, nontheless regularly every week on a Thursday lol. :) -
5 Dolla! 5 Dolla!!!! Bis is funny. Thx for link! Its nice to see some higher resolution in-game videos. The game is looking pretty good, with some exceptions being that a few sound effects are obviously copy/pasted from Arma. (Bullet wounds, grenades, etc).

Operation Flashpoint references in Arma2?
BLSmith2112 replied to quicksand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I was totally going to say this. -
Yea +10 on that Artillery strike. The shockwaves rocked!! It'd be cool to have that sound-delay between the seeing the explosion and hearing/feeling it. -100 for whatever-render that is.

The forums are going out like a rockstar! *Their 5th comeback tour* Â I guess I'll pay my respects... Bye old forum! *Spat*

The tank screenshot released on steam (looking down range @ a field), kinda disappointed me for some reason. Maybe it was the saturation of the color... I dunno, it just looked ugggly.. all the other screenshots are amazing though - hopefully it was just a bad egg. -
Heh for a game thats rated "M", a puff of red smoke that represents blood coming off a bullet wound is an interesting way to make it "mature". OP: 1. Partially destructible. 2. Limbs won't blow up. 3. Trees fall down. 4. Of course!

Next would be Character introduction. Like news following the main characters throught battlfield giving an interview. If I don't hear anything about the story, the characters or their personalities until release I personally won't mind at all. It's all about the gameplay for me I'd like to see what the innovative thinking is building destruction this time around. From the earlier videos, it looked exactly like it did in Arma. "KERBOW!" In less than .00004 seconds the building literally looks like it was stepped on by a big invisible jolly green giant. The animation squishes the building down from its original standing position at a perfect vertical angle, awesome... -

[TRANSLATION] Interview about ArmA 2
BLSmith2112 replied to Deadfast's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Yay! So those RPG & explosion sounds on Arma2's website are simply place holders for the new sounds that will replace those! Thank god because I thought they were going to copy and paste the RPG & explosion sounds directly from Arma1 and keep them there... at least it appeared that way from their latest video releases. -
hehe, remember this? Talk about confusion.

I just hope that if they are anywhere even somewhat close to wrapping anything up - that they don't add too much stuff that won't work and/or wont be 100% fluent/working. I'd rather have more with less. -
Holy baskin and robbins that is one hell of a nice damage model they have there. edit: I had to watch that again... Wow times 2! +100 for WW2 Online damage system.. I'm sorry yall, but I'll take that over a train, a cow, or a rabbit any day (even though those features are wicked awesome).
-
Same question ^_^ Dude, that Flashpoint song literally made me wanna call my old metal/hard rock band up and ask if they'd do that with me. We'd totally go through every soundtrack and really come up with something wicked. Then again, no one in this city plays PC games let alone OFP/Arma, so they'll probably go "HA!" @ me. Pfft!!!! I loved the song dude, amazing! +10000. Your original stuff is awesome too btw.

Exactly. You can't host a prize contest in a room filled with 10 people and expect to get a lot of submissions. The room has got to be filled up with more people first.

All I hope for is that new mission editors aren't scared away by its complexity. If you get more mission makers, you get more variety in the game. If you get more variaty, you get the players of the game playing longer. If those players continue to play, you got yourself another BI loyalist! I'd like to see an official/revised Arma2 Mr. Murrays Editors Guide 2.0 with the collectors edition of Arma2. Maybe a little cheatsheet booklet for the normal version? Real-time tutorials and quick reference cards would be nice too. I thought I heard them say "tutorials" a few times during the GC videos but I don't speak Czech  3D editor does sound nice though.

I had 10000x more fun in OFP with Armor than I ever did with Arma's Armor.

Theres already 5 trailers out there, most of which have explosions of some sort of action sequences showing off some of the games charm. I think BI made the decision to go with this video because a few things: NAPA is one poor ass faction - hence the security camera and guerrilla like tactics. The second thing, is that as I said - you've already got yourself like 5 action shot videos. I think a video like this kinda brings some of the potential buys of the game back down to earth, making them remember that this is a game based around realism, not about pretty graphics and hollywood like action sequences. With that said, I really want to see mechanics.. but I can see see justifiable reasons (business and otherwise) that would prevent BI from showing off particular aspects of it. People not firmilar with non-scripted AI might be a little torn apart from there "life like scripted AI"... I hope a script runs in-game that blows up that red pick up truck and deletes it from the addon directory. I hate that truck. Oh, and I will take this to my grave: Those copy/pasted plane green ugly hangers have GOT to be changed/modified/painted or replaced. P-p-ppllease. Theres 1 airport, when I land I'll think its Sahrani international every time and I'll want to turn around and go home to Le Moule, Everon. -
Called it! I mean, they did have some pretty extensive rails laid down since 2007. I mean, a simple long track extending across the landscape would have suited fine. I was totally waiting for this since I started seeing pictures of the tracks last year and I got reallly disapointed when I heard they were only going to be static. Hey, even if they are just scripted... its.. its a TRAIIN!
-
Exactly... I completely don't understand the counter argument here. On another cheerful note: I hate gamespy.

Fluid Stance(Better cover system)
BLSmith2112 replied to welcome to hell's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I never saw this, thats actually really cool! Raven Shield is a much older game too. I wonder why no ones taken use to it. Current controls these days feel too bulky. -
Who  Wants Great Blood effects and wounds?P
BLSmith2112 replied to pete159's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Your poll has no spectrum... no valid point to make, and is completely immature... and might I say -- stupid. There is no difference between that question than asking this question: Are I right? Or are you wrong because I am right? Arma had on/off buttons to switch up blood amounts. Granted, having the non-gore animations does allow them to keep the 'T' rating. Having that option really opens their market to potentially tens of thousands of different customers. If it was rated mature, they'd be out of a lot of money... and for a game they've been working so hard for for all these years - its only fair to say that they deserve every dollar they get given the time and energy they put into 'their baby'. Hell, I was a teen when OFP brought me in. Now I'm basically done with college and I'm awaiting its sequel. If OFP were given an 'M' rating and I was carded at the store, I wouldn't be here right now and nether would many of the people in this forum. Basically, if anyone is under the age of 25 they are not allowed to complain. Period. This comes from a guy who couldn't get enough of the limbs/guts/blood flying off the things in DeadSpace. You just don't worry your little head on about it, a week in and there will be a mod showing all of the gore in the world... enough gore to make it rated A. Only you'll see it, but whatever - your addons.. your experience. -
I can't wait to see what happens when a cow, dog, rabbit.. gets hit by a tank going 40
