I get the exact same problem when playing with my buddy on the internet together (Yes, we each have seperately purchased OFP discs) on the SAME server using a router, and I have the exact same router that you do, the Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router, Model BEFSR41.  I am on a Cable connection. Like I said, this always happens when playing on the SAME server, if we play on DIFFERENT servers at the same time, the issue doesn't seem to come up as much, and it never happens while playing on LAN. Also, as you stated, we are able to play any other games that we have (Vietcong, Tiger Woods 2003, Wolfenstein, MOH, Half-Life, Diablo II, etc., and YES, we have purchaed seperate copies of each game) together in the same servers, and we experience NO problems whatsoever. We have also tried all the methods suggested on this board, and none seem to work.  Maybe the router is the source of the problem?  But at the same time, as I remember, we were both able to play on the same server when we had version 1.85 of OFP loaded on each machine, but I might be mistaken. We are both running Windows XP, my version is XP home, his is XP Pro. Any looking into of this problem by BIS would be much appreciated  .

Hi there, I get the exact same problem that you described, even after downloading 1.92. Â Specs are as follows: Windows XP Home OS P4 2.4GHz 533MHz FSB 512 MB RD Ram Soundblaster Audigy 2 ATI Radeon 9700TX Graphics Card 60 GB Hard Drive Running DirectX 9.0 Yes, this is an extremely frustrating situation. Â Exactly as you stated, once my ofp/addons OR res/addons folder gets above 30MB or so and I fire up the game, it takes several seconds longer to start up, and then I get the green screen. Â I can hear the music & the mouse moving over the selections on the initial startup screen, but can't see anything. Â I've tried Alt-tabbing, using MOD folders, using MAKEPBO/UNPBO to shrink my O.pbo file (along with other files) and just about anything else that has been suggested on these boards, but nothing has worked. Â I would love to be able to play with all the addons out there without having to constantly exit out of the game & add/remove addons from the ofp/addons folder according to what map I'm playing with. Â I thought 1.92 would fix the issue, and it somewhat has, since I no longer get "Memory map" errors, but now I constantly get the green screen when playing with more addons that I usually do (>30 MB or so). I guess all we can do is hope that enough people are experiencing the same problems as ourselves so that this can get looked into further. Â EDIT: Â and I am playing on OFP-R (I have the original OFP/Red Hammer/Resistance discs - I bought each one individually right when they first came out).

He can't run for president. Â He wasn't born in the US. I think he was quoting the lines from "Demolition Man" when Sandra Bullock is talking to Stallone on the way to their gourmet Taco Bell dinner.

This problem seems to have been resolved recently...My ping is now back down to a steady 50-90ms!

Before you think about renting a server from Klan-Host, check out my post in their forums re: Â network routing to their server. Â I've been going through hell the past week or so, with my normal ping of 40-70ms shooting up to 500-600ms due to a crappy peering link with cogentco/psi. Â And I'm not the only one who has been affected by it. Â It seems that if you are connecting from the Western part of the U.S., you might get networked onto that nasty network. Here's the link: My post on Klan-Host Forum See if they plan on doing anything about it. Â You might also want to do a tracert to 38.113.1.111 (Klan-Host IP) and see what your traceroute looks like during peak user time in the Midwest (Mine shoots up to 500ms/600ms around 3pm-10pm PST). Good luck!
