Great Divide Brewery in Denver produces a series they call Maverick that is only sold in 22 oz. bombers. The IPA they make is one of the best I've tasted...and the Imperial Stout is one of the few stouts I actually enjoy. At 9.5% alcohol they pack a wallop too....the downside is that they are $4.99 a 22 oz. bottle...which is as much as imported "real" European bombers are. But it's well worth the price.

I'm an armed security guard in the civilian world (when I'm not in college) One of our sites that we protect is New Belgium Brewery, another is a large liquor store. I ask a lot of questions. I believe a good soldier's taste in alcohol should surpass selections such as Bud Light, Shlitz Malt liquor, and Mad Dog 20/20. I like me some Jager though.

I'm a Merlot fanatic too!!!

LMFAO!!! If that happened in the U.S. the responsible party would find their next duty station to be Ft. Wainwright, Alaska for sure.

Very popular among American micro-brew enthusiasts, but NBB is starting to give them a run for their money as their market reach has spread to California.

Read this, sometimes the inginuity of our species gives me hope.

No, generally Americans are uncomfortable around large masses of their own troops....it has to do with founding principles mostly....the U.S. strives to keep it's military from intereacting with the civilian population as much as possible. I once asked a senior offficer why we don't have public shows of military strength and he said "That's what the commies do." So I guess we gotta be different....hey, everyone else thinks we are imperialist assholes, why not show it off?

Yeah, I heard about a guy here in Colorado that bought one and made it into a home....alot of them are also used now to as government archives since documents are fairly safe from light and the atmosphere, and fire inside those things.....not to mention the apcolypse.

No joking guys....a town in Western Colorado that I lived in for a year (Craig, 30 miles West of Steamboat Springs) had a bonafide nuclear fallout shelter 400 m South of my house. I wish I had a picture....It included two consecutive 12 foot fences topped with razor wire and Radioactive symbol signs that said fallout shelter underneath....From looking at the top of the shelter it looked fairly beefy. Kinda strange since Craig is a hick town of 20,000 people on the isolated Western slope.

I've spent many a late night hour and brain cells studying and pondering this. Conceptualizing 4+ planes is proving to be difficult too, although it is proven mathematically that more than 3 dimensions is probable.

Bravo Tex, you nailed Congressional economics in one sentence.

Ok, back on topic since this has now become "Silence the weak minded American thread." Christian Science Monitor It seems Saddam Hussien, who I firmly believe is alive is making leaks to the media. I can say that we did know where he was during most of GWI and that's all I can say...why is it so difficult now? Perhaps the overt presence of troops in Iraq are causing him to be much more cautious, who knows? It seems a disregard for security is getting troops killed. What are U.S. soldiers doing walking around Bagdad alone or in small groups shopping? Obviously they are not in a secure area, hell Siagon was more secure than this during the Vietnam conflict (Pre-Tet Offensive), and the enemy was everywhere. Are coalition troops armed at all times? Even off-duty? They should be. No one in my unit went anywhere in Afghanistan with out at least a sidearm. The coalition on all levels needs to do something about this before the media completely Vietnamizes this war.

umm, I think I'll stay out of this one...

Blah, 47 pages on toys, simunitions are the best...but I don't know if it's available to civilians. You can use real guns with them, and best of all they hurt like hell.
