I should probably clarify my ideas behind the '85 era troops before people start getting ahead of themselves :p I made the RU and FIA '85 troops quickly over the course of a night or two as I felt it'd be nice to have some OFP looking units, either included in the mod or released separately as a mini expansion. I'm not gonna start going out of my way making a CWR-esqe mod , there's simply too much to do :p

Not one to be out done by F-35's. Time for a little dev blog about recreating the RACS! It seemed pretty obvious that after bringing the SLA back into the fold. I would have to work on recreating the RACS faction to counter them. So I set about taking the reworked KSK base and changing it into Cookie Chip. The original faction had a larger scale on the pattern so I tried to strike a balance between that and looking off. The USMC helmet does nicely for a fitting helmet. Then onto adding the appropriate weapons and classes. You'll find the original line up in there along with new M47 Dragon and Carl Gustav soldiers. The javelin seemed overkill and the Gustav seemed a natural choice for a MAT team given it's abundance around the world. Now me being me. And having created a little SLA tribute to Rellikki. I had to do it again in the form of a Desert T-pattern http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/609476836162126908/6197FE1199483DE4337F73C156FD4C794D70FB60/ I'm still coming up with ideas for a woodland pattern. Debating on if I want to use something like Spanish leaf, or perhaps a M81 pattern with some grey colorway for the mountains of North Sahrani. I've worked on these guys for the best part of my day off, so I think it's time for a beer

North meets South!

That's the 3 requirements you need to be a modder!

Be careful what you wish for! They might just turn pink!

Huh I thought Martin was project lead on TKOM?

It's all relative. Some team members might not have the time, coupled with how complex the original model is and how much work it needs. :)
-
Yup! Made up from former members of the SLA and disgruntled locals angry at the Sahrani Queen for her harsh policies against the former North. The mean wear older uniforms from private purchase or stolen from former SLA bases. Likewise their arsenal is made up of stolen weaponry. Squad leaders are usually SLA members who escaped punishment. They aren't afraid to wear (the trousers at least) uniform of their former army. In SLA news. I ported the 6b3 vest the CDF wore in Arma 2 as a make shift flak vest. This vests are rare and are mainly issued to squad leaders and other front line units who'll need protection the most. Such as riflemen and engineers. Oh and squad leaders now have a nice cap to wear!

I'm confused as to where people are getting the idea that the VTOL is a gunship. All I see is a black line that could be anything.
-
Now just who might these gentleman be?
-
Back in Arma 1 they wore an interceptor vest like the US Army, RACS and Partisans. To me that's just not worth copying. I may end up using the CDF vest instead. We'll see :)

Ooooooh you never know with me.

I loved it!

Another little dev blog. The current SLA base lineup in the court yard of the main barracks in Bagango. Bringing the SLA back to Arma 3 was a lot of creative fun. Having to take the style of the army in Arma 1 yet removing the copy/paste elements of the interceptor vest and same clothes as the US and RACS. Using the Takistan army soldier as a base to work off. I took some Czech camouflage and reworked the colours to resemble to unique camo the SLA had. This also enabled me to do some variants which I'll get to soon. The SLA crewman and pilot had a black and blue outfit respectively. So these colours return this time in the form of an overall model from Arma 2. The SLA officer was unique to Arma 1 and naturally, was a straight port. But if you feel like wearing his cap, then go ahead! The Especas return with their distinctive green berets. While the riflemen get their trusty Czech M1958 helmet back. (And their shovel!) In terms of camouflage variety. I first made a grey Militia outfit to take the wheel behind the great Militia UAZ recreation Adunteh brewed up. Secondly, an urban colorway based originally off a Russian urban pattern issued to riot police, I previously created this camo in Arma 2 so you could say I have a bias to it :P But for the desert camo, it's a nod to the great Rellikki. Basing the colours off his Arma 1 Desert SLA troops we bring back his great work into Arma 1. This is the beginning though, There are still quite a few unique characters and partisan units to recreate and port. Though, I'm sure they'll just be as fun!

Post Arma trivia. Can you name the REDACTED character who worked at the CIA and warned of the SLA invasion?

**DECLASSIFIED** Intelligence report on the forces of the Sahrani Liberation Army. - Sahrani Herald 4/1/2016 Prior to the invasion of the Kingdom of Southern Sahrani. A military intelligence report was written to be presented to both the King and US officials on the island. This report has been declassified under the Peace and Reconciliation act of 2010 and a Freedom of Information request by the Sahrani Herald. ++Page 1++ As you are aware. Forces of the Sahrani Liberation Army have been conducted large scale maneuvers on the Pesadas military range in recent weeks. We have surmised from images gathered from propaganda videos aired on North Sahrani stations and aerial/satellite photos. The SLA have been preparing their mechanized and armored divisions from a large scale assault on key locations of interest. REDACTED has been suggesting in recent months that the training missions conducted in the Kingdom by his nations forces may provoke the SLA into a preemptive strike, fearing invasion. Our observers have made these notes, attached to images we have gathered. This still gathered from video released by NSTV shows 2 SLA T-72 tanks on maneuvers recently. It is unknown how many of these tanks the SLA currently posses and have operational. In the event of invasion, the destruction of these tanks should be of utmost importance. The fire support they offer to SLA infantry is invaluable. Given the aging of this model of tank. We would recommend the Army Corps procure sufficient anti tank weaponry. Image 2 shows a combined arms exercise between SLA BMP-2, BRDM-2 and mechanized infantry. Due to the amphibious nature of these vehicles. It is possible for them to cross the narrow channels both north and south of the only land crossing at Corozol. The BMP-2 IFV currently outperforms any RACS counterpart. This third imagine is slightly more pressing. Gathered from REDACTED. It shows SLA Militia in combat fatigues roaming the streets of Bagango. These units are mainly regulated to guarding the various work camps in the northern mountains or patrolling border areas. This change may be related to unknown political unrest. Or is being conducted to free up forces. The Defence Ministry feels that due to the successful training and valuable knowledge passed on from US forces,.The RACS should review our current defence policy and further review the weaponry the RACS possess.
