It's titled "Reforger". From the bonus soundrtrack that came with the Nexway digital purchase of ArmA2 (track 15). No info on composer or performance/recording (done for BI I assume).
-
It's the old ArmA1 "Avgani Iraq & Afghan Village" map by Opteryx (be advised it takes some tweeking to get it to work in ArmA2) It can be found on Armaholic.com (under ArmA1 Islands) 17hx-urYmtk

Advanced Combat Environment (A.C.E.) 2 - v1.0 stable

Aproximately 100 feet of loss in the maneuver. Watch the IHADSS digital readout on the monocle (it's easier to see). I pulled off the collective to bleed speed as she started back in from over the top. So yeah, there was ample power left. You can see where I actually stopped pulling back on the stick a bit while the nose still in a down angle. She had resumed normal flight characteristics and speed at that point. I made a Chinook clip at the same time. I wasn't going to post it because it was plain silly. I does exactly what you'd expect a heavy twin rotor would do on the inversion (assuming the blades stayed on). I'm sure it could be done in-game given enough altitude, but it's not realistic at all.
-
Just for fun. I know the Apache can loop in the real world, so I wanted to see if she'd do it at actual cruise speed and under 200 alt. No problemo! Goj-0tT4srU LOL at looping the Chinook. It wasn't pretty...... ;)

I'm no programer, so I'm of limited help here. I've followed Xeno's scripts in Domination (as best I can) and much of what you're doing is related. ......much like Xenos's "air taxi" or "air drop" scripts in Domination. I wish I could be of more help. ---------- Post added at 11:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 PM ---------- *********************************** Pass two -- Tested on a self-hosted MP with multiplayers: Player slot1 can call medevac (working as intended) Player slots 2 & 3 get "error" No option to call ***************** Dedicated still fails entirely (see previous)

First pass results: *Packed mission as .pbo *Loaded onto dedicated server No medevac (helo) or crew visible at spawn point No action menu call "Error at least one unit must by synced with medevac module" *Packed mission as .pbo *Loaded onto self-hosted Internet server Working as intended (still awaiting second player to test sounds and activation, etc)

Another great vid! Forwarded to my old AirWarrior newsgroup.

I didn't mean to pester you about it. :) Great news on the script version! That's actually easier for me to toss around in my various missions to test. My squad-mates also like it when I reduce required mods and use scripts within the mission itself (especially for testing purposes where things change frequently).

Bumpage for my new favorite mod. Any word on the latest?

[co14] Gunclub - Welcome to the jungle
Thirdup replied to mr burns's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Ran this one tonight with some of my squad. Everyone had a blast! -
Yep. *Very* annoying. It's been discussed since release (although you may have a hard time finding a thread on the topic). Common to both ATI and nVidia cards. Usually reported in MP. Usually on a persistant dedicated server. Usually during an on-going mission. *also somehow releated to continuiously flying tires....boing, boing, boing) I used to think it was a sign of instablity that appeared after some time, but lately I've seen it appear on a server just moments after a mission had begun.

Is it possible to disable the HUD in aircraft...?
Thirdup replied to Drew's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Agreed. I'd like to be able to remove it from my cockpit views (since aircraft have a true working HUD), but still allow it for infantry play (to monitor AI) and vehicles (where there is no true working HUD system). -
Somwthing I noticed about Win7 and PilfIuS: If my USB mic is unplugged and I try to launch the application, I get this same msg. If I reboot, plug in my mic, the application launches normally. Win7 speech itself appears to not want to launch at all once PilfIuS has puked (ie: no mic). Always making sure my mic is connected before launching PilfIuS seems to resolve the issue.

How do I kill players that leave an area?
Thirdup replied to bartkusa's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I made a paintball mission once in ArmA1 that used this. I started out by looking at the code in the wizzard. I think it was the deathmatch templete pbo. That might give you an example of how BIS did it in the canned missions. -
OK, tested a few simple missions created with the MM. One with two "playable slots" sync'ed to the MM. The other with one "player" slot sync'ed to the MM. I am in fact getting the 'hint' error message saying "ERROR: There must be at least one unit synchronized with the module". (I wasn't seeing the popup in Domination due to the lenght of the mission intro screen). The helo is present at it's spawn point and the crews are onboard. Hope that helps....
-
Neg. No errors. The MM helo is sitting on the pad with crew onboard. There simply is no action availible to call it. I'm using a modified Domination with the module sync'ed to each playable slot. I can put up a simple two-player mission with just two units and the module to test it on a more "basic" environment. Will advise (have to wait unilt late night when none of my clan are using the server).
-
I'll be happy to test anything you come up with on our dedicated server, if it will help.

Yeah, I was poking about the Domination scripts to see how Xeno handled this (ie: his arti, airlifts, and air taxi scripts). All I did was confuse myself. ;)
-
Did a quick MP test: Server: dedicated Mission: customized Domination Notes: @Medevac is called at the commandline. I also tossed the "userconfig" file onto the server (although I don't think that's needed). Mission loads and plays normally. Medevac helo is present at spawnpoint (base). Crew is onboard. Issue: no "Call Medevac" option in action menu (also tested the same mission pbo in self-hosting LAN and Internet modes and it runs fine, so something is hosed in the "dedicated" environment)
-
It's very unlikely we'd see Little Birds patched in (but never say never). Most of the BLUFOR gear in ArmA2 is USMC. I'd be less surprised to see the Loach re-appear in Operation Arrowhead (since it's primary units will be US Army).
-
Tests on self-hosted MP worked just fine. I'm loading MM up on our dedicated server tonight as part of a modified Domination mission. Will report back.
-
Outstanding! Thanks again!
-
Thanks. For playing on a "persistant" game like Domination, it's really a "must" to have the medevac respawn (it will eventually get nuked by somebody the longer the mission is up). Another option might simply be setting damage to false for both the helo and pilot. Again, I realize these type of options may be the exception to the rule. If you have the time to mess with them, perhaps you could point me in the right direction. I'm not a programmer, but I'm following most of what your scripts are doing.
