    Same theme as your favoured games but you won't be bunny hopping over the place and the overall pace of the game is more strategic and slower than your normal twitch shooters.

    When playing just keep in mind that realism is the key although the UI may detract from that initially while you get used to it.

    Make sure you try the training missions and at least start the campaign b4 going online with it to give you an idea of what to do. Practice running, prone, crouch etc. and see how the aiming works as the crosshairs are not the same as your other games...

    Flying should be fun ;)

    ArmA 2 has a thing called Direct Communication which works in the same way i.e. your voice comes from your character in game if you use this mode so if you stand behind someone and VON is enabled and you select Direct Comms then you will appear to be sounding behind the person.

    This is the same comms as ArmA 1.

    1: Yes same issue, but it should still complete once you do your thing.

    6: Try getting in then out of a vehicle, this seems to sort this bug in MP.

    Others I can't comment as they appeared to work albeit not as they should but I hit the 'trigger' points to complete them.

    Hi all

    Seems like ArmA II has now replaced Crysis, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, World in Conflict, Quake Wars: Enemy Territory, Unreal Tournament 3, and Far Cry 2 as the benchmark game program.

    I think the richiespeedisback thousands of AI missions is the best test for any computer.

    The most important thing is that: the benchmarks mean we have solid info on which to choose the best system for ArmA II

    English version - looks like the game dislikes AMD CPU's, maybe thats the issue.

    None I have seen playing the game. It sounds very similar to ArmA 1. You do have an option to 'talk' to players but it is very limited and has a minor novelty factor.

    The campaign has pre-recorded voice overs which play even while you are pointing out 'UAV Ahead' or whatever so it can make the 'dynamic' feeling voice work a bit confused.

    You better wait for the official european patch, it should be released very very soon.

    The official release date is tomorrow. The next patch is still being worked on and so far we haven't even seen a 1.02 beta... I wouldn't expect the wonder patch to be here before the weekend, maybe sometime in a week or two so they get it right.

    Plus the fact that this is only the EU release and most other countries don't get it till end of the month, so I really expect something nearer that time rather than now.

    No. Wait for the patch to be released for your version. Currently the 1.01 final says it is for the German version. It may work but then again some folk who installed it over the German version even had some 'issues'.

    I think also that the patch has modifed Language.pbo's in it or something I recall when I installed over my German copy so may not be a good idea. Wait for official info from BI although they appear not to give much out officially until after the event.

    and make it read only b4 entering the game, then report back.

    If it works, looks better but runs like pig change both the W & H values (so they match) to a resolution that works for you.

    do you think it will be in the shops today (such as game) or is it just the pre orders from the post that will receive them a day early?

    It is not released until tomorrow. Shops are not officially allowed to put it on the shelves till then although if you go into Game or HMV or whoever is getting it in and ask they 'may' be able to sell you a copy. I did that a couple of times for other games.

    What were you expecting a different game ? German one we have been playing was released as version 1.0 then we got 1.01 beta then then 1.01 final... EU release looks to be the 1.01Beta.
