    So, what other options are open to those of us that'd like to lug tanks around? The An-24 is dead; Philcommando's USN stuff allows endless spawning of tanks? The Mi-26 that para-trooper mentioned, is it an addon?

    Yes, I've seen that in action. I know nothing about addons and/or scripting so this really is a shot in the dark; might it be possible to - when one loads a tank into an aircraft, instead of trying to move it with the aircraft in flight, why not simply remove it from the game until the plane touches down again, at which point you bring it back in. This would mean parachute drops couldn't be done but it wouold at least mean we could get tanks to a freindly airstrip. Actually, come to think of it, I wonder if this is what Vit did on his early An-124. Loaded vehicles did disappear.

    There is an LCAC, as I mentioned earlier, but it has some odd things. The pilot of the LCAC has the ability to spawn tanks (and AI crew) on the ship, which is an odd thing to do, in my opinion. If that weren't there, it might be doable.

    I've just been informed that my statement of how the An-24 came to be is not how it happened. I'd like to retract the bit in para 3 where I said "Vit's Antonov promised plenty and he's handed it over to Konyak" as this may not have been how it actually happened. Apologies for any confusion.

    That's a real shame. The An-124 shows so much promise and being able to transport heavy equipment by air would revolutionise the game. Could you not be presuaded to finish the 124? Pretty please?

    It's fabulous and looks cool but it's still buggy. 1) The AI cannot take off. It just trundles down the runway at taxying speed. 2) The AI can not usually land it. I've seen it happen once when I activated LAP from a long way away, but other than that, it just ends making big turns and never lining up. Even if you line it up on the runway, it still can't sort itself out. 3) Loading sometimes generates an error. See below. 4) Sometimes, when you load a vehicle it doesn't "disappear" as expected. It stays on the floor of the aircraft and is suspended in mid air when the aircraft moves off. It really is there. If you throw a grenade at it, it will fall to the ground and you can drive it away.Click for video. IN this video, we had previously loaded another M1 and a Humvee. Both were accepted as loaded, but during the subsequent flypast, they couldn't be parachuted out. The doors would open the close straight away.

    Vit's An-124

    I've just been lucky enough to get hold of version 1.2.1 of this and I have to say, it's a big step forward over previous versions. While it's still a bit laggy when the player first sees it, it's much improved in that respect. Also, the AI can actually fly it and I've just had landing auto pilot set a loaded one down with no problems at all. When I say loaded, she had two M1A1's aboard! In my opinion, this really does open up a whole new aspect of the game. In the past, when we didn't want to give players heavy armour from the off, we relied on "retaking capturing freindly armour" which when it's been done a number of times, gets a little thin. (See Operation Authority and Operation Stormhammer (both great missions, by the way) Now, we can take an enemy airstrip with ground troops and light cavalry, and then, bring in the heavy stuff. I really hope Vit continues to work on this addon. He's made great strides from the early versions and it's an absolute cracker. If you're reading this, Vit, my hat goes off to you!

    It's not there. I suspect he's taken it down. I've dropped him an email asking what progress there is. Ref bugs. I too find it desperately laggy. It's crucifying my machine. Also, parachuting tanks doesn't work well. The tank explodes as it ejects and destroys the aircraft too. Oh, and AI really can't fly this beast.

  15. Hmm, search pulled up masses of stuff, mostly unrelated so I'm going to ask in here? I'm very new to this, so be gentle with me, please. Two things. You know the empty/object road sign things that show left/right turn. I was wondering, can I make custom ones of these, ideally, much larger so that they can have readable text on them.   16. So many questions!! Guys, in a mission I'm making, I have a team of 4 captives who are unarmed. I've got respawn working but when the guys respawn, they always have an M16 and one magazine. Is there a simple way I can force the respawns to be unarmed? Thanks in advance, Paul (GOTY 1.96 + editor102)

    Weird Bug in GOTY 1.96

    Yes, I have. While playing Co-op Operation Authority just yesterday, the Chinook I was in was attacked by a Shilka. It reported that my player was injured and he showed red at the bottom of the screen. What was also odd was that there were ten people in that aircraft and I was the only one hit. After (the AI pilot) landed the aircraft I examined the player model but there was no blood stains, nor any signs of being wounded and there was no "heal" option when I went to the medic tent.

    Although this hasn't be solved in that I cannot make the script work, a solution has been found. Many thanks to all involved and especially to Daddl for writing it in the first place.
  19. Guy, I wonder if this is possible? I'd like to have a link on my webpage that displays a nice graphic when my standalone server is up and a not so nice one when it isn't. Maybe it should even say how may people are on the server. Has this already been done or is it easy to implement?
  20. I've made a simple mission. It's actually just a road race course set in Lipany. It has just some cars, a few jeeps and some motorbikes and a lot of woodpiles demarcating the course, but I get this error when people try to join the game in multiplayer. I've got OFP 1.96 with editor102 update and nothing else. Any ideas, please? Ta, Paul

    I've looked in the addons folders of the server and it is in there. It's in my client addons folder as well, so I'm a bit stumped here!

    If the code is unchanged, then it must be my hosting. It can be nothing else. I did change the paths for fonts and background images, the script will fail otherwise. My install of the script works in every respect, except that it claims there is no server at the given IP, in fact, it fails to find any servers. You can see how I get frustrated, pDSSQ does EXACTLY what I want, and should work perfectly, except that it doesn't I too am beginning to suspect an anomaly in the php install. Unfortunately, I don't have another php enabled host available. I've tried the two at my disposal.

    1) I tried the first 5 of those servers listed and my install of pDSSQ failed to find any of them. 2) Daddl says he has queried my server successfully. I've seen a screenprint of the result. 3) When I point pDSSQ at my own server, I can see data flowing to and from it so I KNOW it's being queried. This leads me to think it's either my hosting that is missing a trick or a bug in the script. So, Daddl would you be good enough to PM me the code that you used to query my gameserver, so that I can try it on my hosting and try to narrow this problem down a little more. Pretty please?
