http://www.ukgservers.com/ They don't have a standard server with ArmA or OFP so you'd need one of their dedicated boxes which do look a little expensive to me.

I also did research into finding a suitable hosting provider. I currently use my own broadband down20Gb/up786Mb but it's really only good enough for testing. I quite liked the look of this mob. http://www.gamehosters.co.uk/?page=index edit: PS that's aggressive, not aggresive, Susser! edited again to correct my broadband speeds

That has real potential. I'd love to see and use this in missions. I wonder if you'd be up for a little destructive (sic) criticism? When the helo explodes in mid air, there isn't enough debris. If the explosion were in the main fuselage, you'd expect to see large parts of the tail boom falling to earth, for example. When the jets crash to the ground, there'd normally be a large explosion on impact. There should be louder noises when the explosions happen too. Explosions that feature aviation fuel and ordnance are loud. [edit] I've just realised I was commenting on version 1.01. Just seen the 1.03 vid. There are no 'midair catastrohic explosion' sequences in 1.03 vid. How is that coming along?

I'm not particularly well versed in modern military aviation design (see my previous post asking why Rock had named an Apache AH1) but even I can see the this guys Tornado model is not terribly good.

Descriptive (and correctly spelled) topic titles would be good too.

Mmmm, nice. Now, a couple of questions. What do the otros and dta folders do and do I actually need them? Isn't it just a case of dropping the pbos from the addons folder into my addons folder? Also, an English readme would be good for those of us who are linguistically challenged.

Well played!

Ah! I stand corrected! As it happens, I watched that edition of Top Gear on Dave just this morning!

From Rock's Youtube page What's an Apache AH1 and do I get a prize for discovering the typo?

Is there going to be a civ/terrorist/insurgent version?
-
Anyone got any screenshots of the Guardia Civil and Nissan XTrail?
-
Phew! Had me worried there for a second. BTW, have you finished any missions with BAS f, and are they available online anywhere? Actually, I have no idea how many ppl are using BAS f, outside of ShackTactical. Does anyone know of other communities that are using it? Mine is still a WIP. I'm ill at the moment and can't use the PC much, so it's taken a bit of a back seat. To be honest, I use a mixture of BAS f and ArmA Edit.

Hang on, in the latest version (and for the last few versions), there's a whole section in the manual on hiding objectives. Can you let me know if / why that isn't enough, please? Thanks! Fer, I was talking about 1.0.5 when I made that comment.

Lowfly's editor upgrade is by far the most comprehensive for ArmA, but it is an addon so clients need it AND it doesn't work in QG. I wish it did!

Arma crashes right away at launch after inst. 1.08
Tankbuster replied to Drel's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Have you? It works fine with 8xxx cards, especially with 1.09. The original poster's problem is more likely to be related to his operation system or his x-fi soundcard. -
Freezing for 2 seconds while ingame

And maybe what OS the user has installed? -
Oh, you mean have a radar altimeter as well as a "height above sea level" indicator? It'd certainly be useful.
-
Nice job. I can grab by joystick and get back in helos now.
-
There's new drivers today.

My pleasure to help. I've not tried disabling unused devices in DM, I've always just unplugged them in the past, Can you try it and report back?
-
Arma will only detect one controller. You'll probably need to disconnect all the unused ones.

Indeed. There were two moderators on that thread and Placebo still saw fit to close it. It's indefensible and we all know it.

Just to clear this up, he did have permission from Marek to make this thread so in terms of that he didn't do anything wrong. However the thread will remain closed for the same reasons as I closed it. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to knowing the specifics of what 1.09 will include but I think the fairest way for the interests of everyone is to learn all about it at the same time and to be able to discuss all aspects of it at the same time, without being told by a peer that "this is what you can talk about only". I've read this over and over, and the thread it concerns too and I'm still not getting it. The thread was closed because it was too narrow or because it was potentially too popular? Either way, I think you got it wrong.
