    Maybe there'll be an Christmas patch? Who knows? Either way, most of the bugs will still be there. BI will slap some other useless gimmick on it like warfare in order to get an extra sale or two. This game is about as fixed as it's ever going to get.

    Deep down we all know there will be no more patches for this game and even if there are, they won't be any fixes to many bugs. Let's be honest, many of the problems we are seeing now first saw the light of day in 2001. Given all that, there's no reason to suspect these legions of bugs will be squashed in ArmA2. Codemasters, here we come.

    Hehehe great fun! Reminds me of some unremembered SCi Fi flick. Could major landmarks be shown on the model too? It's great being able to see the vehicles, but without roads/ buildings as a reference point, it's lacking a little maybe?

    The AI spawns at Paraiso airfield and thinks; "WTF, M113's, UH60's and so on and so forth" but he soon settles down.

    I can help you with a workaround for recruiting AA soldier. Recruit a couple of blokes, then gather then all round an ammo cache. Through the command system, you can make them 'gear' at the ammo cache. Give then a pistol for self protection and a tube and two AA missiles, then put them somewhere in between the runway and the taxi way, and put them on alert and fireat will. They'll do a decent job of shooting down any enemy aircraft. Also, if you can have a MG dude with them, he'll cut down any enemy paratroopers that surviving the helo being shot down. Furthermore, if you can win a Vulcan from a sidemission, pop an AI in the guners seat and drive it out into the middle. If you park an ammo truck next to it, it'll never run out of ammo. A nearby repair truck should make it, to all intents and purposes, invincible. Just one thing to remember. If a side mission requires you to bring an enemy officer back to the base, you'll need to dismiss all your AI, or they'll cut him to shreds.
  11. I've seen footage of Apache's being delivered to the sandpit by air transport, they had their rotor blades folded so all 4 were tied together. Can't find it anywhere, though.

    You cannot specify those parameters for a local server as it's really a client acting as a server, not a server with a config.

    According to wikipedia entry for Shilka some later versions of this piece have surface to air missile tubes. I think it'd be cool to have that in ArmA.

    Addons in Domination; I know this has been asked before, but I'm damned if I can find it, and I have read all 42 pages of this thread. I'd like to have a some T90's spawn in main and side missions, in addition to the T72's. I'd like to have the wreck recovery helicopter being a chinook. How do I go about doing this? I know about having the addons installed and all that, I just can't figure out how to edit the mission to put them in game. Also, not addons, I want to have more than one of each OPFOR aircraft over main mission. We should be able to have 2 Kamovs, 2 Mi 17's, and so on and so forth. How do we do that? Last question, which I sort of answered myself earlier in the thread, but now cannot make work. How do I rename the mission in the mission list AND on the startup intro movie?

    Well, ArmA currently has that "parachute failure" system, it's also called a bug Though adding random parachute failures again is no problem. Xeno Xeno, Thanks for replying. It's a bit embarrassing as I was one of the guys who asked for more reliable parachute to be now asking for us to step backwards. Is the failure probability still in the code or did you take it out completely?

    Xeno, Suggestions, mostly to do with spawn/mhq. I know you can turn off the parajump function and personally I'm in favour of that. The MHQ should be more important, but perhaps instead of turning it off, we could make it much more inaccurate to discourage it's use, or maybe reintroduce random parachute failures. A The MHQ can only carry it's driver. It would be nice to have a few passenger slots. I'd like artillery to be restricted to arty operators or people in the MHQ.

    Xfire reduces ArmA performance?

    Has anyone else noticed this? I know my system isn't optimised, but I'm usually looking at 30 FPS in open country with VD set at 3000. If I run Xfire, this drops to 20 or so. Through the scope, it's down to 10. It's a shame because the flashback function of the video recorder in Xfire is wonderful.
