WIP JTD Fire And Smoke

Good call. Have a +1 -
He put a gift down on the label because gifts are not subject to import duties. Here in the UK, the C&E guys who look after this sort of thing have got really hot in the last few years. Not much gets through any more, even if it is labelled as a gift or a sample. I suppose I have this choice. Take a gamble and get it from the US. Maybe cheaper, maybe not. Or get it here in the UK at a known price and with quicker delivery. Of course, I really ought to support my local retailer, too. :) ---------- Post added at 05:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:12 PM ---------- I actually found the zoom was one of the great things about head tracking. Being able to zoom in just by leaning closer to the monitor. It made scanning with the Javelin much better. Helo door gunning likewise. It was SO natural. You wanted to see closer so you lean into the monitor and the view zooms in. Excellent!

I'm a former freetrack user, so I'm familiar with the concept and already have an idea how I want TIR to work for me.

I'm looking at the same guy. Am so tempted. :)

I'm in the UK though and most of those sellers are in the US. If at all possible, I want to avoid the customs and excise man taking me roughly from behind.

Oh I see. I said V3, he said +2. Gotcha. But what exactly does 5 bring to the (specifically Arma2) party that 3 and 4 don't? edit. aha. Found this on NP's site http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/trackir-product-comparison.html 5 has better resolution then, but 4 is a lot cheaper.

Are you answering me? You mean any version above 2?

Which TrackIR set do I need for Arma2? I've seen youtube vids using TIR3. What does TIR5 give me that other versions don't?

Big's pictures are right of course. Any vehicle with a diesel fuel tank is going to produce lots of thick black smoke when it burns. -
Arma 2 Weapon Ranging and Correction Tables

I must admit, I've never really considered looking into this stuff. In the past, I've always used a mixture of experience, guesswork and ranging shots to hit targets. I'm going to print this off and study it. In particular, I've never got into tube launched grenades such as the M203 because I found it hard to get reasonable, let alone good. I think I'll install Kronskys target range addon and get some practice in. -
Excellent news. ARMA without Domination is like a car without petrol.

ARMA II Patch 1.03 & Dedicated Server Released .
Tankbuster replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Didn't work for my dedi. First a dll was missing so I found that, now it insists on have the DVD in the drive and then bombs out with "bad serial given in setup". The dedi installation is copied across from my gaming machine. -

Yep. Good question. -
It amuses me the way the users who are pro profanity switch mount reasoned, articulate arguments, while the anti, by and large, are impolite at best and abusive at worst.

While I love the word douchbaggery and will be using it in future conversations, I remain surprised at the flack a couple of experienced and respected members have been getting for putting forward something that is little more than a feature request. Swearing may have it's place in war, but I don't want it on my PC. My PC isn't at war, it's playing a game and that's there to entertain me. I don't get entertainment from hearing the swearing. Apart from anything else, even if I wanted it, there's a lot of it, more than the plot or context demands. We can turn the gore off, we should be able to turn the profanity off. Personally, I put it up there with the overblown HDR - we got by without it in A1 and OFP, why do we suddenly need it now?
-
Hear hear. I'm no prude, and I know that servicemen swear like, to coin a phrase, troopers :), but we really do need to be able to turn it off. I was disappointed with the original thread too. There was far too much immaturity there. Swearing == mature necessarily.

Many thanks ohara. I hope you can appreciate our feelings and frustrations. We adore this game and we understand that getting it even to this stage was a monumental effort, but there's clearly a long way to go. I really think we deserve something more substantial than "it's ready when it's ready". There is a developers blog, that'd be the perfect vehicle for better comms between BI and it's customers.

This was seen in Armed Assault too.

We've recently added Grid to our portfolio. We think the game nicely reflects the right balance between sim and game and it' at that level that we play A2.

What did you change? If I remember correctly from the Domination game in Armed Assault, it was in the init file. Also, I prefer using arma edit to edit the files. It helps with syntax. Notepad is a bit too basic for file editing for me
